Dodgey area of town won’t visit again

Room entry was right where large laundry cages were - not very professional

Location was in dodgey area of town which I found out later - graffiti on large power box as turned into road the hotel was on - drove in via uber and thought WHAT have I booked !

I left a ski jacket in the wardrobe on exit phoned about an hour after leaving - messaged and phoned hotel. They said they’d look for it.
No jacket found - would suggest either housekeeping stole it or no check of the wardrobe was done after cleaning.

Very very delayed response regarding this matter - 4 weeks after numerous emails and phone messages left following up to ask if anyone has found jacket. Very disappointing.

The location was good. Unfortunately the room was very dirty and smelt bad. We went to another hotel for our next nights
Pros:

The location was convenient for us during our stay as it was close to the hospital.

Cons:

Our room was very unclean. There was hair stuck on all of the walls in the shower. There was thick dust on majority of the surfaces. There were items left behind by the previous people. The furniture wasn’t put back in the right places so it made it hard to manoeuvre around the beds. There were holes in the screen sliding door which meant we couldn’t leave the glass door open to let fresh air in. The curtains were heavily stained and smelt bad. The TV remote didn’t work and was stuck together with tape. We were kept awake during the night due to a dog parking in the room just up from us. It was hard to find parking close enough to our room to be able to bring our belongings in without having to walk through an entire car park in the rain.

Downgraded and Disappointed

The receptionist was lovely.

Cons:

We were advised an hour before check in that the room we had booked (family suite) wasn't available and we had been downgraded to a single room with double, bunks and a single bed. the room was old, flooring heavily stained and despite being labled as non-smoking smelt heavily of cigarette smoke. we immediately advised the front desk of this but were met with minimal response. the beds were uncomfortable one bed had no bedding provided. there was one flat pillow per bed with nil spares in the cupboard. minimal electrical outlets in the room. fridge kept making an unsettling whirring sound.

Bathroom was clean and recently renovated though the toilet kept getting stuck on the flush cycle.

All in all was a very poor night sleep had by everyone.

Notified front desk in the morning who just said 'okay, sorry'

Will not be coming back.

Not as advertised, even for a budget hotel. A little more effort on maintenance needed
Pros:

Good location – about a 15-minute drive to most places we wanted to go.

Clean and comfortable bed.

Bathroom had been renovated and was clean and perfectly acceptable.

Helpful staff member who assisted us when the TV didn’t work and arranged another room.

Good value if you understand it’s budget accommodation and set expectations accordingly.

Cons:

Reception presence: Although advertised as 24/7, the desk was frequently unattended, and it was difficult to find staff.

Poor first impression: On arrival the bar, restaurant and reception were empty, and the service felt minimal.

Maintenance issues: Exterior doors and stair rails needed painting and repairs.

Linen/laundry piled up in public areas. Areas like stairs appeared to need vacuuming.

Room condition: Carpet appeared not to have been cleaned recently.

Furniture was quite old, which would be fine if maintained.

Rooms did not resemble the photos online.

Missing expected amenities: No phone in the room. No lamps, clocks, or typical tea/coffee tray setup.

TV initially didn’t work. TVs do not support streaming services or casting.

Strong cigarette smell at times, as if someone was smoking nearby.

Noise issues: Dogs barking from nearby rooms at various times.

Misleading advertising:

Restaurant not open on the advertised days.

No room service despite it being listed.

“Hundreds of movies on TV” not available.

Room presentation and facilities did not match the online description.

You get what you pay for, sometimes less.
Pros:

The room was clean, the bed was OK, Breakfast was OK. Dinner was fine.

Cons:

No lift. We were not warned about that. We needed help moving our big suitcase up and down 15 steps.
