Too dark, too dense, too
The location and room.
It was all great!
Perfect location, walking distance to everything
You get a $25 credit each day but you had to charge it to the card on file to get credit. Not ideal when you are travelling with a group in a room. Would be nice for them to take it off the bill when you are at the restaurant.
The location is excellent, water in the lobby is free, and coffee is free.
No storage for clothes. Usb charging point would be good
Very surprised with the hotel and the staff. Small boutique hotel but we were taken care of with class and style. Everyone was great and we even booked a dinner at the rooftop restaurant and the food was great. I told my wife that we will be staying here again the nexst time we go to NYC
It was very hot and the air conditioning in our room went out on the last night but we were still comfortable.
This was our second visit to The Sanctuary – we came for a week two years ago and decided to return for two weeks this time. We had really enjoyed the Sanctuary on our first visit and saw no reason to try anywhere else. Perfectly situated for Times Square and with Broadway and three nearby subway stations, sight seeing couldn’t have been easier.
We had rooms on the 9th floor this trip and although next to the lift and just yards away from the stairs access to the Haven, we did not find it too noisy at all.
All the staff were again really friendly and Esmee on reception was particularly helpful. We found the housekeeping staff all very pleasant and efficient, as were the staff at breakfast.
On our last visit, the breakfast was just continental but whilst that was fine, with plenty of choice, the addition of the cooked breakfast items was particularly enjoyed by my husband and provided even more choices.
It was really hot this visit for the whole two weeks we were there and the air conditioning was a godsend and we didn’t find it too noisy at all. It certainly helped me sleep, as without it, sleep would certainly have been impossible.
We have read both the good and bad reviews about the hotel but whilst we appreciate some come down to personal preferences, we can only speak as we find and we found the staff and services provided to be excellent.
We are considering a return trip to see NYC in the lead up to Christmas and The Sanctuary will certainly be at the top of our list when we are booking.
Excellent location, great staff and facilities!
We stayed in the Deluxe King Suite. It had plenty of room, a closet for each my husband and me to hang our clothes, two sinks, and plenty of space to get ready. We loved the decor, staff, and restaraunts available for us. Location was also perfect to grab the subway, or go see a show on Broadway. We only had to take a car to and from the airport. Which, they also will help you arrange. We will return here!
