Fantastisches historisches Haus mit grossartigem Restaurant und ausgezeichnetem Service in wunderschöner Landschaft
I enjoyed staying at the hotel. The staff were great as was the food. The facilities were fine.
It was over priced bearing in mind the overall value. The hotel is dated and requires some tlc. On that basis, I probably would not book the hotel again.
Beautiful old building, well kept and lots of open space outside
Nothing
We thoroughly enjoyed our short break at Ellenborough Park Hotel.
We chose it specifically because it has an outdoor swimming pool and we spent time each day by the pool enjoying the exceptionally hot weather. The pool area is well maintained and the sunbeds were very comfortable. It was very busy when we arrived on Sunday afternoon but not too crowded during the week.
We didn’t have lunch or dinner at the hotel but the breakfast was excellent. A very well stocked buffet plus an extensive menu of cooked food such as eggs, porridge and kippers. All delicious.
The bedroom was generally adequate although there was not much space for clothes storage. The bathroom was spacious and clean. Ours only had a bath tub with a shower over it but some rooms have separate walk-in showers.
The hotel grounds are delightful with beautiful views. A perfect place to relax and unwind.
Incredible manor restored to its greatness with a lovely pub, restaurant and terraces. The new section with a pool & gym was designed to be harmonious with the manor. The gardens are beautiful and the rooms are spacious, comfortable and well appointed.
And wow the main house living room is amazing. The walks around the huge property and sunset croquet were lovely.
My only complaint was the hotel was a little short-staffed. We had to call a few times for the basics; towels, nespresso, toilet paper, and to have our room service cleared. We also had to wait a while for our drinks at the pub and they often didn't have enough staff to clear the tables, especially outdoors.
The breakfast and service was great though, especially the hostess who ran a tight pleasant ship.
My only suggestion is a simple fix to our shower in room 33 and presumably others; the rain shower needs a longer pipe to center it past the toiletries tray. As it is now you have to bend over the tray to shower which made rinsing difficult.
We will definitely return the next time we are in the Cotswolds. Thank you
Excellent service from the well trained staff. By far the best of any luxury hotel I have stayed at in the Cotswolds.
I didn't realize my room was not in the main building
My partner and I stayed here for a long weekend and, overall, we had a wonderful stay. The hotel itself is beautiful, the grounds are stunning, and it's the perfect place for a relaxing getaway.
Location & Hotel
5/5 Stars
Absolutely beautiful. The building, grounds and overall atmosphere are exactly what you'd hope for and made for a fantastic weekend away.
Food
5/5 Stars
We thoroughly enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. A special mention should also go to the team for accommodating my partner, who is vegan. They were very knowledgeable and made sure she had plenty of options, which was really appreciated.
Pool Service
3/5 Stars
This was unfortunately the weakest part of the stay. We waited over 45 minutes for drinks by the pool and, by the time they arrived, the ice had pretty much melted, suggesting they had been sitting for quite some time. We understood there was a wedding taking place that day, but at around £600 per night, I don't feel the level of service we received reflected the standard you would reasonably expect.
Customer Service
3/5 Stars
During our stay, a personal item went missing from our room after it had been serviced by housekeeping. To the hotel's credit, they replaced the item promptly and opened an investigation, which I appreciated.
However, I did feel the initial response was somewhat dismissive. Whilst I completely understand the need to support members of staff and conduct a fair investigation, the emphasis placed on reassuring me about the housekeeper before the investigation had even begun left me feeling that my concerns were initially being viewed with some scepticism. That may not have been the intention, but it was how the communication came across as a guest.
After providing a detailed account of what had happened, I never received any follow-up regarding the outcome of the investigation. I completely understand that not every investigation will reach a definitive conclusion, but I would have expected the courtesy of an update. That lack of communication ultimately left the matter feeling unresolved.
I deliberately waited until the hotel had been given the opportunity to investigate and respond before leaving this review, as I wanted to ensure it reflected the complete experience. Whilst I appreciate the prompt replacement of the missing item, I felt it was disappointing that the investigation simply concluded without any communication or outcome being shared.
Overall, we genuinely loved our stay and made some fantastic memories here. The hotel itself is beautiful, the food was excellent and the majority of the staff were welcoming and accommodating. Had it not been for the slow pool service and the lack of follow-up regarding the investigation, this would comfortably have been a five-star review.
Ligging, goed onderhouden parktuin.
algemene hygiene van het hotel. Erg vuil, versleten, stoffig. Overal spinnenwebben, dode vliegen.
Bij het ontbijt wordt kraanwater geserveerd wat sterk naar chloor ruikt.
Food and service at the hotel were excellent. We were able to check in early and get the rooms we wanted only once we were at the hotel. This was organised by the reception team, not handled by the hotel's booking team.
The hotel booking process by phone was very poor. It was both quicker and cheaper to use booking.com.
The property is beautiful and comfortable.
The staff at the brasserie were nice young people, however they have not received proper training. It seemed like it was their first week on a summer job they knew very little about. We waited for our food for about an hour and the service was very poor. It would be appreciated for them to receive more training before starting their role or to hire professional staff. The staff at the buffet brunch was slightly more experienced which made a difference!
Wow…. What a stay! It was one of our favourite hotel that we have ever stayed. It was all perfect, the room, the service, the place, the food, the pool.
What an incredible place to stay!
Nothing wrong!
I came here for Valentine's Day with a gf. The grounds are nice the so was the room, unfortunately that's it. We took about half an hour to be served, and people who arrived later than us were visibly served before us. When the champagne finally arrived we were watched like hawks by the waiter and barely allowed a sip before payment was demanded with a big card machine. This was not a remotely five star experience, but much closer to a Warner Hotel.
We enjoyed a super 4 night break at this wonderful hotel. The hotel grounds were superb and it is located conviently for visits to both Cheltenham and Gloucester. We stayed in a Deluxe room which was a short distance away from the main house. Parking was good. The facilities provided in our room met all our needs. It was very comfortable. Lovely and quiet, had a very comfortable super king bed, a huge bathroom with a rolled top bath and separate walk in shower, where the shower pressure was excellent.
All the staff throughout the hotel were so helpful and friendly, particulalry those who were front of house and in the restaurants. Breakfast was good and the food quality in both restaurants in the evening was generally of a very high standard particulalry the main restaurant where Fraser and Marly looked after us so very well. However the main highlight of our stay for us was the afternoon tea that was served to us on Fathers Day which was outstanding.
The Spa facilities were all very good with a good range of treatments offered. There is a wonderful outdoor swimming pool which is very clean and extremley well maintained.
While the overall cost of our stay was quite high, it still in our view represented good value for money given the high quality of the facilities available and the service that was delivered by the staff.
We very much look forward to making a return visit next summer.
Excellent lovely buildings and land plus the facilities
We didn'tsee anything in the advert for cost of room service and extra cost for dog to stay. We didn't see any mention of Free use of the gym, swimming pool etc.. this was mentioned upon booking in.
