Péssimo e decrépito!!
Pros:

Nada..

Cons:

Hotel velho.
Fomos colocados num quarto num edifício a parte. O quarto não tinha ar condicionado estava completamente gelado. Tiveram de colocar aquecedores portáteis para conseguirmos lá dormir.
Pequeno almoço mau - sumos industriais. Demora imenso para pedir qualquer prato quente.
Spa sem acesso interno. Impossível de usar no inverno.

No geral experiência péssima é a não repetir!! Não recomendamos!!

Its a gorgeous location and wonderful winter getaway
Pros:

Dinner at Horsebox was amazing. Lovely atmosphere. Cozy. Beautiful fire place. Great warm outdoor pool. Grounds were beautiful and well taken care of. Free upgrade which was unexpected. Amazing boot room. Kevin from front desk was so lovely and helpful.

Cons:

Didn't get any turn downs which was disappointing. Bathroom was a bit outdated. Breakfast service seemed chaotic and a bit disappointing. I asked for 2 things to be excluded on my Breakfast but it still arrived with it. Pastries tasted a few days old. Not fresh. Coffee orders took forever. Was no coffee in the room bar just tea.

Ellenborough experience.
Pros:

Nice buildings in setting on edge of Cheltenham. Quiet. Good breakfast. Nice helpful staff.

Cons:

Spa very cramped. Only 6 loungers and small jacuzzi, sauna. Spa area ok for 6 people maximum. Staff in Spa very pleasant. Treatments around 40 pounds more than similar hotel experiences. Outside pool only not really appealing in cold wet weather. Walk required from Woodland suite to breakfast area, Spa in open air..umbrellas were provided for this.

Pleasant enough but not 5*
Pros:

Room itself was nice. Breakfast staff were really attentive. Breakfast was great!

Cons:

Felt like we had to mine for information from the staff following check in. No one told us where in the hotel that breakfast was served. No one told us where the spa was located or that we had access as hotel guests. When we did make it to the spa, we were told we needed to go back to our rooms (via a short outside walk) to collect the robes from our rooms just to find that every locker in the spa had a robe. Why we weren’t told all this at check in as standard, I’m not sure.

The spa itself - sauna was broken, it was all looking a bit tired. It’s v small. Pool is completely separate (again, which no one told us about on check in.)

Found someone else’s old earplug behind the mattress when checking that I hadn’t dropped anything behind the bed just before checkout.

Sadly, not the 5* experience, as it claims.

Lovely stay, I would come here again
Pros:

Lovely romantic/historic vibe to the hotel. Our room was very nice and the staff were very welcoming. Great place to stay when visiting the Cotswolds especially if you want that festive feeling.

Cons:

Our sink wasn’t draining properly and water was leaking out of the shower pipe when being used. We weren't too bothered as we only stayed for one night, so told the staff on check out. We did the breakfast in bed but it came late and wasn’t best quality. But it was included so I can’t complain.

Value for money here is extremely poor & does not come close to representing the price you pay
Pros:

For clarity, we are regular travellers and frequently stay in hotels and spa hotels. Positives: the location is wonderful. The hotel itself is a beautiful building situated in a beautiful part of Cheltenham. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. Check in & out was quick and easy. We needed a room change due to our guests being unable to climb the stairs to the top room, which was done quickly and fuss free.

Cons:

Ratings out of 10-
Spa area - 4. As other reviews state, the spa is tiny and when there are more than a few guests using the facilities, it feels cramped and far from relaxing. I would say this can’t be referred to as a spa hotel.
Restaurant - 6. For clarity 4 guests ate starters, main courses & deserts. The menu had good options, food was a decent standard, but considering the cost, we expected more for our money.
Staff - 8 / Hotel management or owners 0. I don’t like leaving personal reviews with gripes about issues but I feel compelled to with this experience. The staff were polite, friendly, helpful and kind. However, and it is a BIG however: the owners of this hotel need to take a long look at themselves. I write the following with the price in mind, given that this is a very expensive hotel. The majority of the staff look poor. It sounds trivial but their shoes were scruffy and dirty & their outfits didn't look professional for the kind of experience you’re sold when booking. Some of the staff are not trained at all. The gentleman who took us to our room was very nice, but not trained. He took us to the wrong room twice. When we reached the correct room, he left us in the room, exited and 2 minutes later realised he’d forgotten to leave us with the card key. He returned, and using that card key, let himself into the room without knocking! On our desk he left a detailed list of all the guests staying in the hotel, with full names and the rooms they’d booked.
This is not the fault of the staff. This is the owners. We feel they rely on the fact that the building and area are beautiful but do not invest anything in making the experience truly memorable when it comes to those they hire. Surely one of the biggest factors when creating a hotel! When you pay a high price for something you have high expectations. We try to be realistic with those but value for money is extremely poor here.

Great stay, shame about the spa
Pros:

Lovely hotel- historic building and great surroundings. Service was good, especially Andrew at reception. Really nice, spacious rooms.

Cons:

The spa was the only part that let down the hotel. It was dirty and far too small for the size of the hotel. Only 6 comfy chairs which quickly fill up. The staff didn’t clear drinks or rubbish when people left either, which was frustrating. This wasn’t the same as the rest of the hotel, where cleanliness was good.
