The hotel was not the
A bit wary from the reviews but it was excellent, quick check in,lovely spotless room, possibly too warm but easily rectified, brilliant location
We didn't have a fridge but our son did so don't know what you will get till you book in,will definitely return
It was quiet and the check-in process was easy.
Dirty.
Lime scale all round the bath, taps and up the tile also on the shower door.
Plug sockets loose near window
Large burn mark on electric heater
Mold on window seal
Bed didn’t smell clean
Would not pay £92 for what we got would not recommend
Able to check in early. Friendly staff. Lovely room. Onsite parking.
Another pillow each would have been good but it didn't detract from our overall stay.
The hotel appeared dirty and had an odd smell. The room itself was not very nice. The windows were saturated with condensation which made the windowsill soaking wet which caused a damp environment. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and had a huge dip on one side. Also having a double room the beds pushed together was uncomfortable. The room was not clean, dirt on the bathroom floor and sink. The room was full of dust and grime.
This is a property I have recurrently stayed at over the years when visiting Cheltenham. The staff are friendly and accommodating; the rooms are remarkably spacious (even if not impeccably clean due to lack of daily housekeeping since Covid); and the hotel location is excellent -- walking distance from the town center, the town hall, the Everyman's theatre, and the pubs/restaurants. For travelers who are not overly fussy, this will be a comfortable hotel to stay at. If staying longer than a couple of days, you can request a room clean and a change of linen. Also, staff at reception usually hand out clean towels and other toiletries as needed. I hope this helps!
The Citrus hotel is really well located for the centre of Cheltenham. The service we received was good. When we arrived at the hotel we checked in easily and were located on the 4th floor which was no problem at all. When we entered the room we found it to be freezing cold. We could not see out of the window due to it being soaking wet with puddles of water on the window sill. There was a heater in the room that had not been switched on but was working. The spotlight above the television was hanging out of the ceiling and we also found that the sink in the bathroom did not drain away. The beds were comfortable and we experienced a good nights sleep with very little noise. On leaving the property there was a broken tile on the steps which I slipped on twice. There was a cone when we arrived to highlight where not to step but this was often either not in the right place or missing completely. The breakfast area had tables and chairs that were all plastic and felt a bit like a canteen but the breakfast itself was perfectly adequate. Just a bit more attention to detail would have made this hotel much nicer.

Stayed here many times but not anymore. People kicking off outside 3.30am. I go down to tell them to be quiet only to find it’s the hotel staff and his sister. Just what you need when you’ve got work that day. Police arrived and did nothing. Thanks Citrus you just lost 3-6 guests
Good hotel close to all amenities. Room comfy, great shower 😊 only issues curtains don’t cover length of windows, parking is first come, first served! And if you’ve got a room roadside it’s noisy! I did ask for a quiet room, away from the road.
Citrus is a budget hotel and as such offers exceedingly good value for money considering its position slap bang in the middle of Cheltenham. The room was clean, warm, the bed comfortable with tea-making, large TV and room safe. The self serve continental breakfast was just £5 for both of us but very comprehensive. Car parking was secure at an extra £10 for 24 hours. The only thing that let it down was the shower which in our room (210) was virtually unusable as flow was poor and very slippery with no grab handles.
However the position on Wellington Street is brilliant just 2-400 metres from the High Street and the Promenade.
Clean room and comfortable bed, right in the middle of town. On street parking and friendly staff. Windows, however, are paper thin so you can hear everything going on in the street, which isnt great at 2am.
Definitely underrated! Some poor reviews listed but we found the rooms spacious and clean with a bit of character. Great location for town centre restaurants and racecourse. Staff are helpful and polite...all very good value so a 5/5 from us.
Good
I night stay, perfect location for town hall events
All v good. I make a point of staying there when in Cheltenham.
Stayed 1 night in the triple room with a couple of friends to attend a 60th birthday party. Room was surprisingly spacious with a great view at sunset over the rooftops. Wall-mounted flatscreen TV and plenty of tea/coffee bags with the kettle. Lots of coat hangers on a rail. Used hotel underground carpark which was £10 per night. The team at reception were very helpful pointing out directions on the map, taking our luggage into storage while we explored Cheltenham after checking out, and letting us keep our cars parked for longer at the hotel. There was quite a large choice for the continental breakfast in a pleasant dining room.
