Quirky hotel and love all the memorabilia associated with Beatrix Potter, massive effort.
We were there for NYE Eve and the hotel’s Christmas decorations looked fabulous.
Stayed for breakfast, scrambled egg for me, it was very nice.
Room was in the loft with a massive roof window, enjoyed watching the sky, room was cosy clean and warm with coffee etc, bed very comfortable.
Only downside was that you could other people’s TV and them talking.
It is absolutely gorgeous, so spacious in the rooms and the setting of the property is stunning.
Breakfast was lovely
Nothing
Gorgeous gardens, exceptional views, very tidy suite, good breakfast, friendly and helpful reception staff
Felt rushed at breakfast when we had booked for 10am and then the staff cleared all of the buffet away before we were done. We had sat down at 10am as booked time and by 10.08 they had cleared it all away.
Was so unique and had so much character so much to look at
Breakfast was excellent.
Food was amazing!
Room wasn’t what I thought. I am tall and I was in the attic with quite low ceiling!
We had a wonderful stay at Lindeth Howe Hotel, which combined comfort, excellent food, and a relaxed atmosphere. We stayed in the Potter Suite, which was spacious and very comfortable, with a lovely seating area that made it ideal for unwinding after a day out.
We enjoyed afternoon tea, which was both varied and delicious, with a good selection of savoury and sweet items, all beautifully presented. In the evening, the restaurant offered plenty of options to choose from, catering to different tastes. The braised beef was a highlight — cooked to perfection and full of flavour.
Breakfast the next morning was also very good, with a satisfying selection to start the day. Overall, Lindeth Howe offers a high standard of accommodation and dining, and we would happily recommend it for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
Small, personal, cosy, comfortable, lovely location
Could do with a path through the garden
Really lovely, cosy and comfortable hotel, beautifully decorated for Christmas. Food and service excellent. Very friendly staff.
Nothing
Our recent stay at Lindeth Howe in the Lake District was a last minute decision to stay. Booked the stay with John over the phone and this was a good experience who helped with our accommodation needs.
Upon arrival which was after 4.00pm we were greeted with genuine welcome and staff couldn’t have been more informative or helpful.
Our room was an excellent choice , with a stunning view overlooking Windermere and the gardens. The kids were thrilled with the outlook and my wife loved it just as much it’s rare to find a room that delights everyone in the family as space in most hotels is limited.
We settled for the night and relaxed in the lounge area playing games provided by the hotel with the kids Sitting by the fire with drinks being served created a nice end to the day.
We were nicely greeted and seated for breakfast in the morning and it’s nice to be served breakfast there is plenty to choose from. 3 of of us had the cooked breakfast and they adapted a breakfast for one our children.
Me and my wife have stayed at Lindeth Howe many times over the years, and I can honestly say I’ve never once been disappointed. The consistency, charm, and warmth of this hotel is still there.
Highly recommended Lindeth Howe continues to be a true gem in the Lake District. Thanks to Tony, Clare, John and all the team for a wonderful stay will be back soon.
Very cosy , warm , staff warm and friendly
The mirrors where not close to plug holes so struggled to do my hair
Comfortable stay, really helpful staff, clean and well.maintained. most of all historic connection made it more magical.
Lovely and comfortable
Back again and 2nd Christmas stay just as good (or perhaps even better) than the first. Magical is exactly the right word to describe it. Lindeth Howe is so beautifully decorated at Christmas that it feels too good to be real.
The staff are absolutely wonderful. So friendly and warm. Liz especially was simply amazing and so obliging and kept Eve entertained. You put up a wonderful challenge with all those sticker hunts. Unfortunately, you met your match. For this year at least. We are almost certain to be back next year for a rematch.
We dined both nights as well the breakfasts. The food was very good once again. We enjoyed a chat with the falconer who has entertaining stories about the troubles of caring for birds of prey. Probably the best anecdote was following his goose-pursuing hawk into the lake in freezing December waters and the hawk being in a huff with him for letting the goose get away.
We loved our room which was characterful and spacious and had everything we needed. Lovely bathroom with a bath - which is important to me as so many hotels are taking them away, even at the luxury end of the market. Far better relaxation as far as I'm concerned. Parking has never been an issue.
Thank you so much from all of us. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you lovely people.
