Diamond in the rough wasn’t expecting it to be as nice. Some great restaurants and bars around this place especially the Welsh house across the road
Can’t blame the hotel for the noise from across the road at the “hotel” for undesirables. Blame the council and local government for that one
The bed was very uncomfortable,it was 2 single beds which I found strange, pillows were wafer thin and uncomfortable and for the sum of £85 for the night with breakfast included I sort of expected hot food instead of just one or two cold meats cheese, breads, fruit and cereals
Great location choices of restaurants nice bar good parking
Nothing
Staff and cleanliness.
Room was a little dark and bathroom in need of an update.
My husband would have liked a cooked breakfast.
Bathroom needs a tension room not clean
New bathroom suit
Excellent location, spacious room and friendly efficient staff.
No evening food available.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, good location although very noisy from the bars opposite. Parking facility was good. The continental breakfast was adequate but limited.
Rooms were dirty, mouldy, no mattress protectors, sheets didn't fit beds properly and mattresses were disgusting. Mould in the kids room, rusting radiators, mother in law had to change rooms as hers smelled of cigarettes.
Hotel was clean and tidy. Staff were lovely
Hotel is location near a number of clubs and clubs. The music goes on until the early hours. Music can be heard in the rooms, making it very difficult to sleep
Location, and friendly staff
Can't think of anything!
Liked the location and free car park
Beds were so uncomfortable we had a dreadful nights sleep, , room was clean but really dated, staff were great, bar stayed open late, wouldn't stay again becasue of the beds
Local to everything
The rooms need a little upgrade
Location was good for shops, station and to reach the motorway quickly. Staff friendly and efficient.
We have stayed several times and each time it gets worse.
The bed was very uncomfortable and noisy. Could feel all the springs.
Unable to hang towels or clothes when showering. No shelves to put toiletries. We object to put them on the floor or by the toilet. No plug in the bathroom.
Bin in the bathroom had not emptied from the previous guest.
Television was so small, to read the writing we had to sit on the end of the bed.
No vegetarian option on the menu. I'm a proper vegetarian and don't eat fish or chicken!
Easy access to Railway Station - Castle Hotel has interesting, varied history - very comfortable bed
Bathroom could do with upgrade. Outer door of room (number 5) difficult to shut. Blinds difficult to use. External noise from night clubs / late pubs does not dissipate until about 2am, though website does warn to expect external noise.
The location was excellent if you planned to be in central Neath as I did.
Try as I might, couldn't find the television remote control.
My Room (24 I think) had a connecting door to the next room, and when my neighbours were in, it was as if we were sharing a room.
The bathroom was poor and old fashioned
The receptionist and bar lady were very polite and helpful. The room was huge and everything you could need. Comfortable and quiet.
If you’re lucky enough to park in their car park then it’s no stress at all. But in my case, there wasn’t any space for my car and none available out the front either. So I had to park in the local train station and walk in with all my belongings. They didn’t serve food the evening I was there, but there is a nice Indian restaurant nearby.
