Rancho Encantado is an extremely peaceful, quiet retreat on the shores of the Bacalar Lagoon. The staff are extremely attentive. They have paddle boards and double kayaks for guest use. The room has a faucet with purified drinking water. The restaurant on the property has outstanding food (we ate breakfast and lunches on the property and then went into town for dinners). We stayed in one of the lagoon cottages. The patio looked out on the lake and had a patio table with four chairs, another chair, and a hammock. There was a raised platform between the cottage and the lake with two chaise loungers. A walkway led from the cottage to the lake and had a dock with two chairs and a ladder into the water. WiFi in the cottage was good enough for streaming music on multiple devices at once.

This hotel is in a lovely location outside of Bacalar itself - if you want to go into town, this might be a little too far out for you. It's an eco-resort, so the grounds are lovely, with many mature tropical trees everywhere, and abundant bird life. It's right on the lake shore, so it's a good place to see many of the seven colours that the lake is famous for. To see them all, definitely book the boat trip across the lake - three cenotes, seven colours, and the chance to swim in the lake are not to be missed!
A very nice room - we paid a little extra for the lake-front cabin, and that was really lovely. They have a nice restaurant with a lovely view; food choices were good.
The only thing that spoiled it for us a bit was the fact that the hotel is very close to a main road, and the road is on an incline, so every lorry that goes past does it in low gear, and the road noise is really quite intrusive. Not the hotel's fault, but we'd recommend earplugs!

The restaurant was good to excellent. The water access was perfect as we had hoped. Great access to excursions and taxis to town were easy and friendly. We loved every activity we did in the area. Our visits and dining in town were great. Service was excellent in all areas. We especially enjoyed William at the restaurant. The resort is small and easy to get around. The cabin we had was roomy and comfortable.
The cost of everything (except taxis, which were very reasonable) is more than we are used to on our Mexican travels. For the price we expected a little more. The lighting in the cabin is very bad (#21) Another cabin we were in was better, but marginal.
Rancho Encantado is an exquisite sanctuary! Our group loves visiting every time. It is one of our favorite places on earth and our favorite place in all of Bacalar! The staff is incredibly helpful and kind and we are grateful each time for their generosity.
Beautiful location and property. We went for dinner only (didn’t stay at the resort), and it’s a lovely deck right on the water, clean, and good menu selection that had a mix of more western flavours and Mexican classics (eg ceviche). The staff were friendly and helpful.

¡El hotel es muy bonito y cómodo, fue nuestra segunda vez en este hotel y mejoro mucho, su acceso a la laguna es amplio y limpio, la habitación es amplia y cuenta con todo lo necesario para una estancia agradable, por las instalaciones no me puedo quejar, les dan el mantenimiento necesario! en cuanto al personal, fue muy amable todo el tiempo.
En esta ocasión quisimos repetir la increíble experiencia que tuvimos hace un tiempo con el restaurante, desafortunadamente nos decepciono.. fue triste encontrarnos con un desayuno sin mucho sabor, frio y servido de mala gana.. al estar a una distancia considerable del centro pues la idea es despertar y tener un desayuno rico ahí cerquita, pero tuvimos que buscar algo de mejor calidad.. ojala mejoren esa parte y vuelvan a ser increíbles

El hotel está al lado de la laguna y es precioso, las habitaciones que dan al muelle muy bonitas y cómodas. La comida y cena muy rica. El costo de la comida es cara al igual que las habitaciones. Tienen kayak y paddle board que te prestan y puedes salir a la laguna las veces que quieras, el servicio en general es muy bueno. Puedes pasar unos días llenos de tranquilidad disfrutando de la laguna.
El desayuno es un buffet poco variado y muy feo montado. Las quesadillas son más masa que relleno, la sra que las hace muy amable pero no sé si tenga órdenes de no ponerle suficiente queso y demás. Mis hijos se quedaron en una habitación que está atrás de las que salen a la laguna y son totalmente oscuras y muy frías. No están bien distribuidas y poca privacidad para estar en la disque terraza. Vale la pena pagar un poco más por las otras habitaciones.
The location is amazing, close to the lagoon with a lot of spots to access. The facilitations are great with a pool and jacuzzi for all needs.
We travel with kids and offers a safe and beautiful place to be with the family and the rooms are amazing.
I think they could improve on the food offer. The restuarant is great with good food but if you are travelling for more that 5 days theres is lack of variations.
But the food is great!
