Foxwood House

Beautiful historic property and lovely room. Really enjoyed the tub, and the outdoor shower was a surprise. Wonderful for anyone who enjoys old estates.

Foxwood House is a historic building with the main house and several out buildings. I had originally booked Coach House. we arrived in the dark (cause it sets early here) and basically just unpacked, exhausted from long flight.
TV was not working so the manager moved us to Onze Emmie suite. WOW loved it. had a lovely patio we enjoyed. large room, large bathroom.the surrounding area is very wild with flowers and vines and walking paths. I'm sure people could find fault with it but I loved the 2 swimming pools, ducks and swans. Hot breakfast is offered along with cold cereal.
Killarney Mall is just a few blocks away and has sooo much. this is a very residential area so there aren't alot of area restaurants that I saw.
I dropped the area around it to 4 stars because we walked out the mall at the wrong exit for us and sketchy guys sitting at the corner. no reflection on Foxwood at all!

The staff was very kind and accommodating. They went above and beyond in their helpfulness. The setting is beautiful and the rooms are very nice. There's a shopping mall within about a 5 minute walk. Dinner and breakfast were both very tasty. Highly recommend.

A great old colonial home with an interesting history turned into a very nice lodging and restaurant. Excellent service, big rooms, two pools, nice gardens, nice ambience. The only real problem was the week wifi around the whole compound. If you just need wifi for WhatsApp etc, it's fine, but if you need to do some real work on your laptop, it's annoyingly slow. A very cute guard dog a big plus :)

It is a really nice place and the historical ambience gives it a little extra.
The dinner we ate there during our stay was superb, and again, the setting was great. Breakfast was also really good and the staff were so kind and helpful throughout our stay.
There is a shopping mall only 5 mins walk away.

A wonderful old colonial house in the previously exclusive suburb of Houghton, though not quite in its former glory, it is still a fascinating journey into the old Johannesburg. Management and staff were very attentive and supportive

I loved the rustic ambiance and the quiet feel. It was insulated from the city noise outside, like you were in your own world.

The location is great - central to most places. The setting is fabulous - swans and ducks in the garden. Lovely rooms. Areas to improve are lighting (difficult to move around at night in the garden and lighting in the rooms can be improved) and maintenance. It is a grand old property that can do with some paint and other maintenance

Jedes Zimmer ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail verschieden eingerichtet. Die Gartenanlage gleicht einem Park. Wer Tiere mag, kann am Anblick von Enten und Schwänen erfreuen. Eine sehr relaxte Atmosphäre.

Sehr guter Service, waren sehr bemüht unsere verloren gegangen Koffer zu beschaffen.

Amazing location!!! would have loved to have stayed longer - so much history on the property, nature to explore and helpful staff.

The location is very central yet once on the property you feel like you are in a secret garden on an estate in the country. Dominic greeted us and then took care of us for the next several hours serving us and our guests drinks then dinner. The attention to detail during the outdoor garden dinner as well as the formal breakfast in the dining room of the grand Foxwood manor.

Lugar muito lindo e agradável, em um casarão antigo, com um Jardim incrível. Pessoal muito atencioso. Poderia estar um pouquinho mais b conservado, mas não tira a beleza do lugar.

A wonderful facility with amazing staff. This is a nature getaway in the middle of the city.

I had a wonderful stay at Foxwood House. It's within walking distance of restaurants and super markets. Management was very nice and it has a nice atmosphere.

We had a very warm welcome after a tough day. Everyone was very helpful and worked hard to make our stay special. The garden is a wonderful place to relax and the dinner we had was absolutely wonderful. The neighborhood is safe and service is an absolute priority. If interested in history, you can breathe it right there. We hope to be back at this gem soon.
