Pros:

We werden zeer positief verrast door dit hotel. De receptie en lobby ogen wat gedateerd, maar de kamer bleek geheel gerenoveerd te zijn. Mooie kamer, groot genoeg, frisse lucht doordat de ramen open konden.
Parkeren is gratis op eigen terrein en mocht dat vol zijn, dan is er een kleine parkeergarage tegenover het hotel en die is niet zo duur.
Er is geen waterkoker of koffiezetter op de kamer, maar in de lobby kun je 24/7 gratis koffie en thee uit de automaat halen. Er is ook een borreluur met gratis wijn, daar hebben wij geen gebruik van gemaakt.
De locatie van het hotel is top: het centrale plein ligt om de hoek en daaraan grenst de grote winkelstraat.
Toen wij incheckten was het heel erg druk vanwege het Suset festival, maar de dame achter de receptie bleef rustig en uitermate vriendelijk. Dat hebben wij zeer gewaardeerd!

Cons:

Koelkastje op de kamer zou fijn zijn.

Centrally located, comfortable accomodation with very friendly and helpful staff.
Pros:

The staff at the Ansgar Hotel were very friendly and had great ideas to help us gather family history information beyond the usual tourist requests. They were very accommodating with our request to stay in the lounge until our train departure when the weather wasn’t the best. Our room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay in Esbjerg. It was an easy walk from the train station and centrally located for points of interest in the town Including Sands Restaurant where we were booked for dinner.
