The staff are lovely.
Been to Casa many times breakfast was lovely but I wasn't keen on the sausage
The comfy mattress and friendly, helpful staff.
No flannel or bar soap in the bathroom.
Having greatly enjoyed two previous stays here, we continue to be delighted with Casa. We’ve found all the staff to be excellent and there’s no doubt that front of house are exceptional, always smiling, always polite, always willing to help and go that extra mile for their guests. However, bar staff were absolutely fantastic on this occasion and gave tip top service despite being run off their feet.
We stayed in twin room #411 (same room as December 2024) and it was so quiet, despite it being a Saturday night when the pre-Christmas party season was in full flow downstairs. The beds were superbly comfortable and the blackout curtains were wonderful and really did their job. There’s a well-stocked hospitality tray that includes fresh milk in the fridge which we liked. The only slight annoyance was the spring loaded door closer on the bathroom door which made a noise each time it closed and isn’t ideal in the middle of the night.
We made the mistake of not booking a table in the Barca bar for the night of our arrival (really silly on our part given that it was the penultimate Saturday before Christmas). Luckily, because we wanted to eat early, staff managed to find a table for us which we greatly appreciated. We had an excellent meal with brilliant service, despite the bar being so busy (Greek feta cheese & olive salad, with tripled cooked chips, for my friend and chargrilled harissa chicken skewers for me). The hotel was beautifully decorated for the festive season too, with lots of lovely twinkling lights in the bar area and a beautiful tree in the reception area.
Breakfast was delicious with plenty of variety although, like the bar the previous evening, the dining area was very busy. I have to be honest and say that I’m not wild about self-service machines for hot drinks at the best of times and much prefer waiting staff to bring a pot of tea or coffee to the table. Unfortunately, on this occasion, there was a real bottleneck at the machine and I ended up not getting a hot drink until I’d finished eating which wasn’t great.
Overall, we had another fabulous stay and I’m only mentioning the bathroom door closer and hot drinks machine at breakfast time in terms of honest, constructive feedback and not as complaints. We love Casa Hotel and highly recommend staying here. We certainly wouldn’t hesitate to return.
Everything was good. Interactions with staff were all friendly and efficient. Comfortable room. And one of the best breakfasts I have had in a long time. We will be returning :)
It was all good
First impressions of the hotel was beautiful- The food was amazing.
Staff was a bit slow in the bar area coming round to ask if any more drinks were wanted.
At breakfast we sat near the window and it was very cold.
Beautiful interiors, comfortable, everything we needed for a nights stay. Staff warm and welcoming, very helpful.
Nothing it was amazing!
I have spent over £1300 at this hotel in the last year and on every occasion something has gone wrong. This last visit to which this review refers to is just for a bar meal. I like the ambience of the hotel but on its own is just not enough and I suspect I wont be making the sixth visit. I'm done.
My wife and I ordered a burger and being as though on our last visit our friend ordered it medium and it came raw (incidentally that wasnt the problem on that visit that we were bothered about) we decided to ask for it well done. When it was brought to us the waitress joked it was really well done. She wasnt joking. She also said she would be back with our onion rings that we assumed were part of the meal. We waited but they never came. I tried to get someones attention without success. Eventually the waitress saw me beckoning and came across. We asked where our onion rings were and she said they were for a different table and none came with our meal. Fair enough but when someone says they are coming with some you assume they are with your meal. We told her the burgers were completely burnt and she laughed apologised and left. Later I got the manageresses attention and said I was unhappy with the burger. She said because we had eaten the charcoal there was nothing she could do about it as they would have replaced it but the waitress never mentioned this before we ate it. She then agreed to knock 20% off the food bill, £7. I said I couldnt understand that they accepted it was completely burnt but still wanted me to pay for it. I had to go to the chip shop to eat something to get rid of the taste.
I really dont like leaving bad reviews but in the absence of an acceptable resolution I couldnt do anything else.
Good size rooms, clean and welcoming
Like everything
A great hotel, easy to get to and ample parking. The hotel is well equipped and maintained so creates a positive first impression. The room is well equipped and comfortable with nice fittings and a touch of quality.
The food is excellent both in the bar and breakfast in the morning.
The stand out are the team, everyone is really helpful and very friendly.
Location was excellent, we were visiting Chatsworth House and it was an easy drive.
Staff were very good in general. Restaurant staff were really "on the ball" and nothing was a bother to them.
The hotel is fairly new, carpets, paintwork, etc, all very well maintained.
I could say "nothing", but that is not very helpful to you. So the following should be noted:
-I used the gym. There was no air conditioning and the large window could not be opened. As a result, it was hot and overbearing after 10-15 minutes.
-The bathroom door is spring-loaded and always closes. After showering, the room steams up as there is no internal fan.
*There are not complaints, just points that you should be aware of.
