The female receptionist was friendly and helpful. WiFi worked without any issues.
Yuck yuck yuck!!! Upon entry to the "apartment" or should I say SHOE BOX you are immediately met with the gross stench of sewage mixed with chemicals... staff are obviously aware of the smell as the balcony door was already open to let fresh air in when I walked in.
The room is ABSOLUTELY TINY and the layout/furniture placement only adds to the feeling of it being severely cramped - you could literally cook breakfast whilst sitting at the end of the bed!!
Dirty surfaces all around the room covered in thick layers of dust including the bathroom...shower tiles not cleaned thoroughly (weird yellow marks on tiles)...stinky bathroom drains. The sliding balcony door had cracked glass and no sheer curtain meaning people outside could easily look in and see you during the day. There was a TV in the room but NOT a smart TV so no apps or streaming available (not good enough in 2026). Basically the room just felt run down, dated, cramped and smelly and definitely not worth the price.
Also note parking is NOT at the hotel and is actually a block down the road (5-10 minute walk) at a cost of $25 which is a bit of a rip off considering the inconvenience.
Do yourself a favour and just spend that little bit extra to stay someplace better!!
The room was clean and adequate. A chair and table would have been nice on the balcony. It wasn’t luxurious, but the staff were friendly, responsive and helpful. Location was good, near trams and 1-2 tram stops away from Queen Victoria Market and CBD.
I arrived around midnight, after reception had closed, and unfortunately the key collection box malfunctioned and the key didn't drop out as it was supposed to. After reaching the staff, someone promptly came to assist by unlocking the box. There was another hiccup during my stay. I had left my laundry in the dryer when I needed more coins, but reception was closed at the time. When I came back, a few items were missing. The staff took the matter seriously and checked the CCTV but nothing conclusive was found. It may be helpful if the hotel added a few chairs in the laundry room so guests can comfortably wait while their loads finish.
I reserved it for 5 nights so while I was out they cleaned the room everyday, and they also provide you with an iron, ironing board, tea sugar and coffee, microwave and fridge, towels, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap. It was much better than expected.
Nothing except the painting above the bed. Oh the TV worked so that's always a bonus.
The tiny tiny cramped room. An even smaller bathroom with the tiniest shower. A sliding door meant when you were sitting in bed you can see the toilet (and hear everything). The button on the toilet was broken but luckily still worked. It was fixed the next day but water constantly ran into the toilet so every few minutes the cistern would top up with a whoosh! This went on all night.
The bed was about 40cm from the wall next to the bathroom. Sort of comfortable but too low.Only one bedside table so I had to use the dining chair or I would have had to put my phone, water bottle, laptop etc on the floor. Not ok - there should always be two! Not flashy but two! No where to put your luggage except the floor.
The AC didn’t work properly. We couldn't adjust the temp or fan at all. Plus very noisy. That was attended to the next day but still not working well. Luckily there had been a cool change so we turned it off.
We were down from the country for some fairly important medical tests. A lovely room to come back too would have made a big difference.
Oh and it does NOT have disabled facilities at the front entrance -very steep steps. The room would be nearly impossible if you were in a wheel chair and the bathroom would be absolutely impossible. Not even a vanity unity so toiletry and make up bags went on the floor. You could barely get in to the shower cubicle and even harder to get out!
No I would not recommend. It is about 20 mins walk to to the Royal Melbourne Hospital. But would not be good in Melbourne's wet weather. The was a phone on the wall for reception? but it didn’t work. Why is it there?
Won't go there again.
