The staff were incredibly kind. I broke my ankle out walking, and as a solo traveller it was scary. The staff were exceptionally helpful and kind. They organised meals and collected medicine for me. They were genuinely concerned for my health and I would have been lost without their support. They made me feel safe and cared for.
Clean, comfortable beds, great location
We stayed 2 nights after our arrival from USA. The comfortable beds and black out curtains allowed us to adjust to jet lag. We stayed in a suite with our 2 kids, and it was large enough for all 4 of us. The location was great, with an easy walk to historic Palermo right out your door. The location was also close to a few car rental companies when we ready to explore the rest of Sicily.
We did not eat at the restaurant, but had some drinks. The views from the restaurant might be the best in town!
We would stay again when visiting Palermo!

Hotel Politeama, is well located and a short walk to the old town for all the sights, restaurants and the new town with its high-end shopping etc.
Good quality restaurants are very nearby, I recommend La Pescaria (4 minute walk) especially, we went twice for excellent fresh fish, also Sesto Canto was superb (about 10 minute walk).
The Politeama Roof is pleasant with good roof top views, but you're paying for this, as the food was expensive for what it was, and better value can be found nearby.
The rooms are adequate but the bathroom we had was very small compared to the size of the room (suite).
We did not receive bottled water on a number of days, cleaning was a little hit and miss and the hotel does not seem to recognise the significance of a "Do Not Disturb" sign!
Breakfast is good with a plentiful choice of fresh and cooked products and good coffee. The underground atmosphere of the breakfast room was a bit depressing though.
The reception staff are responsive, but on one occasion they couldn't sort out a restaurant booking for me, so I had to do it all myself.
I would avoid rooms on the 9th floor, especially the Panoramic Suite, as they are directly below the Politeama Roof Restaurant. You will with no privacy on your panoramic balcony and you'll be affected by noise until the early hours. On 2 days there were Birthday parties going on with very loud bass music playing non-stop for hours. No appropriate apology was offered, or given, by the Hotel.
One annoyance for me was that I found the Hotel's Concierge too "pushy" for my needs, but that is simply my opinion.
I simply do not think it is acceptable to receive multiple e-mails and WhatsApp messages trying to sell "Sicilian" experiences, for many weeks/months prior to our trip. I found it annoying and highly intrusive. I intend to make a separate complaint to the hotel regarding this.
In hindsight I probably should have booked elsewhere....oh well!
breakfast is great, structure is nice and being renovated (as needed)
