Nice warm room and breakfast was good
The place needs refurbishment
The room though very dated was comfortable and felt secure. Parking is good and location is excellent. The few staff members I encountered were friendly.
The entire hotel is tired and needs upgrading. The spa was closed due to a leak on the day I checked in, I wasn't offered any discount or compensation for not having use of the spa for my entire stay, it was too late for me to book anywhere else. The breakfast was poor, no fruit and the cooked breakfast cold, oily and the poached eggs were like hard boiled eggs. So bad that I skipped breakfast for the rest of my stay even though I had paid for it. Cleanliness is basic, the bin in my room was rusted with the pedal falling off. Tv reception kept dropping out. I found a male member of staff leering and talking inappropriately to the receptionist deeply uncomfortable.
This was a poor experience overall. Room is exhausted; peeling wallpaper, damp in the ceiling, archaic decor. Breakfast was also poor; empty buffet, ok coffee but colleagues enjoyed the cooked breakfast.
Service is not a selling point either. It’s all just a bit chaotic alas.
For the money charged; there are far better options in Maidenhead.
Very friendly staff. Everywhere was clean, if a little tired in places but nothing major. The breakfast was fantastic. Eggs benedict with a side of mushrooms, highly recommended.
Hotel is in a quiet area, room was a good size and had a good nights sleep.
The rooms and the hotel itself are very outdated and need some modernisation.
Prior to arrival we received a call the spa was closed due to a burst water pipe, which didn’t bother us too much as we hadn’t gone just for the spa, but on arrival there were other guests in the reception who clearly hadn’t received a call about the spa and were very upset. It would seem that staff hadn’t made them aware and weren’t offering any sort of compensation for those who had clearly travelled for a spa weekend.
Staff behind reception were dressed very casual and were wearing coats. Though friendly enough it didn’t come across as very professional.
Stay there a few times had to cancel last minute. Would have thought they would have refunded me
The staff, especially lovely Jess at front desk (she’s a brilliant ambassador for Fredrick’s - efficient, helpful, really friendly and knowledgable) and the charming spa manager
Fixtures and fittings a little dated
The first day breakfast was lovely, freshly cooked and good service. the second day breakfast was buffet style and was dry eggs, soggy hash browns and watery mushrooms.
The first room we was given was spacious but having a closer look it didn’t take long to see how dirty it was. There was scum all round the bath and toilet. Splash marks all over the table, bin & dresser. Carpet was stained and filthy with dust. Honestly we stayed in a travel lodge the night before and it was cleaner. The pool and spa area was dirty leaves in the pool ever cobwebs around the pool.
I thought the food was well executed both dinner and breakfast
The hotel decor, furnishings and bedroom looked very tired which made it look dirty.
The reception area was nice.
There is an overall dated and tired feel. Spa- loose wooden panels in sauna which I feel is hazardous and was uncomfortable. Steam room not working. Pool made loud gurgling noises as it needed topping up. Breakfast- menus printed on a piece of unlaminatd paper. Enticing options listed not available- staff said "I'm not sure why they are still on the menu" ('home made lemon curd with Greek yogurt..... home made granola') this is misleading. All carpets need a good deep clean. Mirrors needed cleaning. Mattress felt horrible and was clearly very old. Dead flies inside art display cabinet in the breakfast room. This place stinks of lack of investment and neglect. Will not return, or recommend.
Staff nice and bonus not paid parking
Not value for money! Overpriced !!! Should be priced around 65£ per night for double bed
Towels not clean
Carpets dirty
Bar not a nice area to sit in
