Pros:

The location itself is lovely — a beautiful old-fashioned English hotel with a nice character. However, the inside feels very outdated. The bathtub were leaking continually and the furniture and overall condition of the rooms really need upgrading and better maintenance. The hotel would definitely benefit from some renovation and more attention to detail to match the charm of the location itself.

Not sure how you can sell a room without shower facilities
Pros:

Free wifi
A decent walk to the town centre (10-15 mins)

Cons:

Shower not working - a slow trickle which meant having a shower was impossible

Pros:

The staff were great and the spa pool was good .

Cons:

This hotel is long overdue a refit.
Room was dusty and bathroom plumbing was unreliable, no plugs.
Only service room if leave out sign..don’t supply sign.
Food was poor pub grub.Dining room was cold and grubby.
Wouldn’t recommend to friend.
Half an hour team effort with cleaner and a tidy up of road side approach could make an improvement. The whole place is just worn out .

We came away to relax for my 30th Birthday as a couple and that was achieved. Would recommend for couples that maybe nee
Pros:

Warm welcomes and polite helpful staff.
It’s clean but an older style property so comes with a little rustic charm.
The rooms are clean and well laid out as well as everything being well signed to be able to manoeuvre around the property.
The outside spaces are very well kept and the art and sculptures in the grounds are lovely to look at.

Cons:

It isn’t so much what we didn’t like as we enjoyed our stay and very much achieved what we wanted to which was to relax. There are a few maintenance jobs that if fixed/ kept an eye on would keep the property in much better condition and make a little more enjoyable. That said it didn’t hinder our stay was just small little things that we noticed would make a difference.

Lovely stay
Pros:

We were slightly hesitant about booking this hotel after reading some of the previous reviews, but we’re so glad we did — we genuinely couldn’t fault our stay.
The staff were all lovely, particularly the receptionist who made us feel very welcome and was incredibly helpful, as well as the gentleman in the spa who was cheerful and friendly.
Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and everything was in perfect working order. The bed was especially comfortable, which made for a really relaxing stay.
The spa facilities were clean and well-maintained, and we really enjoyed the outdoor pool. The surrounding gardens were also beautifully kept and added to the overall experience.
We didn’t dine at the hotel as we had other plans, but we did notice it holds a 5-star hygiene rating, which was reassuring.
Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would absolutely return in the future.

Comfortable and value for money.
Pros:

Ample fee parking. Lovely building and location. Good facilities including a spa. Room was comfy, clean and a good size.

Cons:

Restaurant stopped serving dinner at 8pm. As I was delayed in traffic it meant I could not get any food on arrival. TV would not work properly. Could only get a handful of digital channels and the subtitles would not turn off. In the morning TV would not turn on at all. May have just been the remote control but annoying none the less.
