This is my honest review of Hovima Suites and the surrounding area of Costa Adeje. I personally rely heavily on reviews, so I'll try and give as much detail as I can about everything that matters to people.
Me (25) and my dad (63) have just come back from a 7-night stay at the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and I can see why it is a 4* hotel and believe that it is fair.
It is clear to see that the hotel has made a conscious effort to suit everybody, and it does. I like to get involved with activities as I get bored sitting by a pool all day, and there is an opportunity to do that, whereas my dad prefers to sit by the pool and sunbathe, and there is also the opportunity to do that.
Pools - 4.5*
I have pretty much no complaints about the pools at all. There are 3/4 different pools. All have excellent sunbed availability, and you can easily get one if you go down for the usual hotel rush very early in the morning or if you bring the towels down later.
I don't know about the 3rd or 4th pools as I didn't go in them, but both the family pool and the adult pool were very warm, so there's no taking 10 minutes just to enter because of the cold temperature! All pools were an excellent size, and it is easy to go for a swim.
Both the family and adult pool also have a bar where you can get access to drinks as well as hot and cold snacks, including ice cream. There was also a seating area and two pool tables by each bar.
The first pool was an adult pool for people aged 16+ for those that want a more peaceful experience, and there is a family pool, which is where the main activities take place. There was also a smaller but decent-sized pool for children by the football court, and there was also a small pool for small children which, if I remember rightly, was by the family pool.
There was an exclusive area, which you obviously have to pay for with your hotel package, but I did not look to see if there was a pool or not.
The only small negative thing for me is that there was a little bit of music that was played in the morning and in the afternoon, and personally, I would have liked there to be more music played by both the adult and family pool throughout the day.
Staff and nationality of residents - 5*
All staff from catering, bar, reception, animation, and room service speak very good English and all other main languages, and are very helpful and friendly.
Regarding people staying at the hotel, there was a nice mix of people from different countries, but it was a mainly English-speaking hotel and area, which I liked.
Room - 5*
The room was really nice. We stayed in a room for two people; however, three people could easily stay in the room as there are two beds in the bedroom and there was also a sofa bed.
The room came with excellent storage space, the shower was very nice, and it was easy to get a temperature that was right, and the water pressure was soft.
You also get fresh towels every day, and the room service was excellent. We had a nice spacious balcony with a nice seating area with a table and a nice view of the family pool.
The beds were definitely comfortable enough for a hotel room.
There is also a kettle in the room with two cups and two glasses (obviously dependent on how many people are staying in the room), along with a good-sized fridge.
There was also a nice-sized TV that came with lots of English channels from BBC One to Channel 5 and BBC News (except for BBC Two, which obviously is not a problem).
Food - 5*
The food was delicious, with lots of different choices for people with different dietary requirements.
Everything was there that you would expect to be there with traditional English food (except for hash browns), as well as cooked omelettes, fresh fruit, and pastries.
Lunch and dinner were also really nice, with chips every day, freshly cooked meat and fish in front of you, fresh pizzas, and pasta cooked in front of you to your liking.
They also had some specific themed nights. When we were there, there was a Spanish, Mexican, and Chinese night.
There were also classic salad fillings, and the desserts were nice as well. There was always lots of choice, with different flavoured ice cream, cakes, and there was always a chocolate fountain.
There were also different drink machines for all the soft drinks you could want, and there was a nice water machine where you could set it for how you wanted it. There was also a large bucket of ice, along with what looked like different wines and champagne every lunch and dinner time.
There is also an Italian restaurant, which I believe you get a free voucher for when you book your stay, but we never used it.
I couldn't possibly take off any points for it as it would be too harsh, but the only tiny thing was that the plates were sometimes cold, which sometimes made the food a little bit cold, and the other slight thing was that there were only condiments at lunchtime, and it would have been nice to have them at breakfast and dinner as well, but I realise this is me being extremely picky.
Activities - 3.5*
As explained earlier, this is one of the most important aspects for me as I like to join in due to getting bored with sitting by the pool.
The activities are great fun and are competitive, which I like, and the animation team are great as well.
The hotel splits it into three different types of activities. You've got kids' club, which does things like face painting and pirate activities along with the traditional hotel mini disco, which starts at 5:15 or 5:30 if I remember correctly.
You've then got adult activities, which include blackjack, cocktail making, aqua aerobics, dance, yoga, and body stretching.
You've then got activities that are for kids that are too old or simply don't want to do kids' club, as well as adults. These include water polo, water basketball, aqua aerobics, dance, football, table tennis, darts, and shuffleboard.
As mentioned, these are competitive, which I like. However, us adults always made sure that those kids who joined in got an opportunity to have the ball through passing to them and giving them lots of opportunities to pass or shoot.
Why only 3.5* I hear you say?
The disappointment for me was that they didn't start until 12 apart from kids' club, which started at either 10 or half 10, and then didn't get going again until 3, which happens everywhere, and then ended at half 4.
There is also a traditional hotel classic of a cocktail challenge, which happens at 1 and is a non-physical activity that involved guessing the number of something (pages in a book, ping pong balls in a jar, etc).
Therefore, I feel this is quite a light animation programme, and I've been to hotels where there are more activities throughout the day.
For more information, the 12pm section always involved either darts, shuffleboard, football, or table tennis. The 3pm section always involved either water polo or water basketball, and the 4pm section was always water aerobics or dance.
Personally, I'd have liked there to be more activities, with it starting at 10 or 10:30am and finishing at 5pm.
I feel they have the facilities to do this, as there is also a basketball court on the football pitch, and with the pool tables, there is a possibility to do killer pool, which everyone always enjoys.
The other disappointment for me, and this was more of an observation rather than fact, was that it felt like the activities would always finish before schedule. However, that could be because I was enjoying taking part.
Evening entertainment - 4*
I always enjoyed the evening entertainment, and there was a good mix of entertainment as well.
They always started with some sort of quiz around 8:45–9:30, which we didn't join in with as we were always having dinner around that time, so I can't comment on that. Then you had the second bit of entertainment, which started at around 9:45 and ended at 10:30.
As I mentioned, there was a mix. When we were there, they had singers, dancers, acrobatic acts, and a white-themed party where the DJ was brilliant.
The seating area was nice, with lots of seats and tables to fit everyone in, and there was a bar which offered lots of different drinks as well as cocktails, which you had to pay for.
There was also a rooftop bar, which I believe was open throughout the day and was also open in the evening. This was for if you wanted more of a quiet evening, as there was sometimes a DJ or saxophonist up there. However, I believe there wasn't much entertainment up there as it wasn't designed for that.
We only went up there for five minutes on the last day just to see what it was like, and the views from up there were stunning. The seating area also looked very comfortable, and you could tell it would be very relaxing and tranquil up there.
The only disappointment for me was that the evening entertainment finished at 10:30, which I felt was quite early.
I understand why they do that, but with the amount of rooms at the front of the hotel and the back of the hotel where you can't hear the entertainment, I feel there is a possibility to put families with young children in those areas, as well as people who might want to go to bed early.
That said, it does give an opportunity to go and enjoy the nightlife that Costa Adeje has to offer, and I'll discuss that next.
Costa Adeje and nightlife - 5*
I personally really enjoyed staying in Costa Adeje, and I felt the place was really nice.
It is roughly a 10-minute walk from the coast, and if you want to eat out, there are lots of restaurants offering a variety of different foods along the coast.
The different beaches extended for a long way, and it's a very nice walk. We personally preferred the beach further on the right-hand side that was very sandy, whereas most of the other beaches had the lava sand.
There are lots of activities to enjoy around Costa Adeje and the island. It's got all the water sports you could want, as well as boat trips, mini golf, and I also took part in activities such as quad biking up Mount Teide, which was a great experience, as well as paragliding and jet skiing, which were great fun.
There were also other things to do and places to go, such as the water park and go-karting.
I really enjoyed the nightlife that Costa Adeje had to offer. There were lots of bars and pubs on the coast.
I particularly enjoyed Coxy's Irish Bar. I always went down there to watch the Premier League football, and they always had good entertainment until midnight.
I also enjoyed the entertainment and singers at Musty's Burgers, which always had a great atmosphere.
All the bars and pubs close at midnight except for the Red Lion, which carries on until 2am.
There are very talented acts that perform on the strip, and make sure to check out Jack Bennett, who's incredibly talented and always gets the crowd singing and dancing.
There's also a young singer called Nat (don't know her surname), but if you can see her, she is brilliant as well.
There are a couple of nightclubs within walking distance of the hotel, which I believe are open until 6am. One had free entry, and the other was a €20 entrance fee, which I believe came with a free drink.
The nearest nightclub, I believe, is mainly based on Latin music, whereas the one with free entry had lots of different rooms for different types of music.
Finally, there was also different facilities that were quite hidden with a gym with all the equipment you need and air con as well as a kids play room and what looked like a small canteen. There was also a sports bar and a small splash park next to the football court.
Would I go back?
Possibly. As mentioned, I would want more activities if I were to go back there, but I wouldn't hesitate too much.
The only other thing that might stop me is that I like to go and see different places, but my dad definitely said he would go back.
Hopefully I've covered everything and have helped you decide whether this is the right hotel or not.
This hotel is fantastic. It’s in a great location and the staff are super friendly. We never had to wait for a sunbed and the food and drinks are excellent for an all-inclusive package. The different pools are a great way to mix things up and the rooms are spacious, modern and clean. The entertainment is top-notch throughout the day and evening. A huge shout-out to Jonny – he was incredibly kind, friendly and a great job. He made our holiday ten times better so thank you! We’ll definitely be back.
We stayed for a week in August with family. It was ok. I wouldn’t return, and am surprised with the amount of reviews mentioning Johnny. We didn’t know any of the entertainment staff, they seemed pleasant but there was loads of them so really not sure how one guy is featured so much in the majority of reviews?
The good…, plenty of sun beds, breakfast, location, wine with meals, rooms quiet after entertainment finishes.
Some of the rooms in our party were worse than others with flooring coming up and taped together. They had to be moved. Our beds were very hard and I needed a night cap to sleep.
We were round the family pool, which isn’t big enough for all the people in it. Teens were bored with the entertainment- no slides, no balls. The water polo was very cramped and they wouldn’t join in despite having always done so at other hotels. The games were very dull.., guess the pages in a book, distance between two knots. Never known this sort of thing before.
Evening meals were hit and miss. Plenty of chips, pizza, pasta. The Mexican night was lovely, however Chinese was not great. Food was very salty on occasion. However you are not going to starve and the puddings and starters are always great.
The layout of the hotel is weird, and information given is poor. There is a pool at the back.., who can use this? Towels are at the lifeguard on a Sunday, don’t walk though the excellence part to get your towel!
If this was a 3* I would have been fine with it. Just can’t see how it’s a 4*.
Location great not far from the shops and the beach
fantastic staff very friendly and helpful
the food was amazing loads of choice something for everyone
Johnny made our holiday with the entertainment around the pool and on a night would definitely come back
Really nice hotel. Nice staff especially Jonny, very clean and had a really good stay
Here’s a polished version that keeps your genuine, enthusiastic tone while making it flow better:
We arrived on 15th August 2026, and from start to finish, our trip was completely seamless.
The room was clean, spacious and perfect for our stay. The location was fantastic too — only a short distance from the beachfront, Siam Mall and Siam Park, with Playa de las Américas just a 10-minute drive away.
The food was great, and there was always something available that suited me, even with how fussy I can be! The drinks were on tap and we never had any issues whenever we approached the bar. The staff were always friendly and happy to help.
The pool areas were clean and well maintained, and thankfully there was never any dreaded sunbed war in the mornings! We particularly loved the adults-only pool and the adults-only section in the dining area, which added a really nice touch to the holiday.
The entertainment was fantastic, with something different every night and plenty to suit everyone. The only downside was that seating was quite limited on most evenings, so it could sometimes be difficult to get a seat.
However, my biggest shoutout from the entire holiday has to go to Jonny. What a guy! He was friendly, hilarious and an all-round fantastic entertainer. Every day, Jonny would go out of his way to come and speak to both of us and make sure we were okay.
Jonny genuinely stands out from the crowd. Everything he did was with such compassion, enthusiasm and genuine care for the guests. He really made our holiday that little bit more special, and we honestly couldn’t praise him enough.
Overall, we had a fantastic holiday and would absolutely recommend this hotel. We would happily return! ❤️
It was a very Nice hotel with a lot of entertainment. Jonny his aquadance and the cocktail making were very fun. And at the white party he gave himself fully. He came everyday to ask how we were doing or what we did that day. He was very vriendly and intressted. The hotel was clean and had a lot of lovely workers. Sadly the construction in our building wasn’t mentioned but we changed rooms thanks to the lovely people at the reception, especially Iris. We also forgot a bag on our tui bus and the staff did everything to get them so fast as possible. Thank you for the beautiful holiday ☀️
From the minute we arrived outside we were impressed. It was clean, inviting, modern and easily accessed. The book-in team were fab and gave us a much needed glass of prosecco to welcome us. We had booked a suite with pool view and balcony, and it delivered. We were on 4th floor of 5 and the suite was beautiful. It was spacious, bright, clean and modern. Everything we needed was on hand. All staff were friendly, looked smart and worked really hard continuously. The entertainment teams were fantastic!!! One stand out guy is Jonny! I have never experienced someone with so much energy on holiday before. The young ladies who worked with him were also amazing. The pool areas were clean and a great place to meet others and you had the choice of adult only or family pools. Both were great. There was refurb work going on but because it had been well thought through and planned, it had barely any impact on the day to day running of the hotel. Food choices were great and we never had a day where we struggled to find something nice to eat. Would highly recommend this place for a holiday for couples young and old and families.
Stayed here all inclusive with Jet 2 as a family of 3 with a 17 year old for 1 week mid August
The hotel is great, ideal location close to beach and shops, bars etc the setting and areas are all ideal and very clean, we were situated on the ground floor family side this was ideal for us and very easy to access all the facilities. We only used family pool but my daughter did use the adult pool alot, we felt there was more atmosphere at the family pool.
The hotel has lots going on with a good animation team ( special mention to Johnny who goes out of his way to meet everyone and make them feel welcome, I asked him to find my daughter a friend and within an hour she had made a lovely group of friends her age!) however I did feel that for such a busy hotel during the daytime there could be a lot more going on there was daily aqua gym and water polo but felt there could of been a few more pool side things thrown in, daytime quiz, water bingo etc.
there are no lilos or balls allowed in the pools which didn’t really bother us but don’t really understand why no ball games when water polo was played daily with the staff.
Personally I would have liked a little more music around the pool but that’s just my personal preference. There are many nationalities staying at the hotel so you i understand everyone’s tastes and needs must be catered for.
There’s 2 pool bars, a sports bar, and a main bar where the night entertainment is. The shows of an evening were good and they had some really good acts disappointed we missed Tina and Elton John these acts cancelled last min. Felt the sports bar was wasted as it didn’t open till 6 but had 2 large screens so would have been ideal for sports games and football during day time.
There is also a lovely roof top bar with a dj of an evening but drinks are not included if AI but we still used it as the views were lovely and it was so nice and chilled. More entertainment could also be offered here too.
Food in the buffet was really nice a good variety, my daughter has a peanut allergy so sometimes struggled with the desserts. But she was fine with ice cream and fruit most foods are allergy labelled. We had one meal in the onsite Italian which was really nice.
On our last day we had a late flight so needed to be out of our room by 12 but we were offered a room to shower and change in for free which I thought was great
All in all a great holiday
All the staff were so friendly, Jonny and Melinda from the entertainment team, who we spoke to the most, made me and my mum feel very welcomed. We would definitely recommended staying at this hotel.
The hotel was absolutely amazing, and everything about our stay was fantastic! food was brilliant ,! Jonny truly made our whole experience. He was so lovely, friendly and interactive, and always made us feel welcome. He definitely made such a positive impression on us and has genuinely made us want to return again. We had an amazing experience and would highly recommend this hotel! ❤️
Amazing stay at the Hovima Suites Costa Adeje. The hotel is simply first class and the experience is made so much more by the incredible animation team with Jonny at the helm! Thanks to everyone at the hotel for making our stay so memorable!
We had a fantastic stay at Hovima Suites Costa Adeje and would definitely recommend it — especially if you’re looking for a great hotel that offers excellent value for money.
The hotel was very clean throughout, and the staff were welcoming, friendly and always happy to help. The bar was a great place to relax, and there are two pool areas — one for adults and another for families, which is a really nice touch.
The rooms were fantastic. There is a sleeping area and a separate sitting area with a sofa bed, as well as the balcony, with a table and chairs. There were a few small cosmetic things that could probably do with a little attention, but nothing that affected our stay. Overall, they were spacious, comfortable and very well presented.
The food was delicious, with loads of choice at mealtimes, so there was always something tempting to eat. A nice bonus was that you could enjoy white, rosé or red wine with your meal, as well as beer — which certainly helped make dinner feel like part of the holiday!
The hotel is around a 5–10 minute walk from the beach. Just be aware that it’s uphill on the way back, so depending on your fitness level (or how much you’ve enjoyed the food and wine!), it might take a little longer!
There’s Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, which was useful, and the location also means you’re close to some great bars along the strip.
The only slight disappointment was that the evening entertainment felt a little repetitive, but with plenty of bars nearby, there were lots of alternatives.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Friendly staff, great food, lovely pools, fantastic rooms and a good location — all at a very reasonable price. We would definitely stay here again and would happily recommend Hovima Suites Costa Adeje.
La cercanía a la playa y a zonas de comercio
La habitación donde nos alojamos no enfriaba el aire acondicionado y tenía una cucaracha. La comida no era excepcional
The rooms were amazing, staff so kind and helpful, cleaners amazing and kept my stuff nice and tidy, the food was AMAZING and the hotel in general so nice
Service has been amazing so far, the staff are lovely. And the food tastes great.
It was my first time in Tenerfe and I've loved every part of it. Definitely recommend for families since there is an adult only pool and a family pool. All the activities are great and all the Staff are welcoming even if you are new to the hotel or have been for a week they will always help you and make you fill welcome.
