Reviewed this hotel in 2022 with an average rating. however upon my return in January 2025 and found the hotel has improved overall. New carpet, better food selection. Even though the hotel is pretty old, nevertheless the services ia great. Nie and friendlly staff besides the hotel is located in great area. would surely be back

Warm welcome very good from Bell boy to assist how many bag, room is clean but old fashioned, reception slow up to date room transfer TV issues, yes maintenance coming checking the the problem, breakfast most item cold etc nasi dagang boiled egg wafers. There should much better then present.

This hotel looks like updating their room. Kudos for them. Please continue to level up your hotel.

1)This hotel belongs to International chain, and have a 5* rating in Kuala Terengganu. Malaysia.
2)The location is Good, in town centre, near most tourists sights.
3)The building is Good, and been informed it is build about 35 years.
4)The staff are Friendly and Polite....as per ALL 5* Hospitality Outlets.
5)The restaurant accord both buffet and Ala Cart meals. The food quality. quantity. Variety....are Good. Service is Good. Prices Very Good !!
6)The "PROMO" room rates are Very Good. (Example: Jr. Suites@ M$900/room-nite) !!
7)HOWEVER, Very low patronage. Reckon management lack Media promotion !!

Filthy, filthy, filthy....the lobby is grand...but it stops there. The elevator, halls, and rooms are uncomfortably dirty. The restaurant is pleasant, the steamboat meal was actually very enjoyable and the chef and servers were very nice..so eat at the restaurant, but stay somewhere else.

I encountered a minor incident with one staff member at the reception named Lela who very rude and seemed to be having a rough day. She engaged in a debate with me, displaying rudeness in our interaction. Nonetheless, it did not overshadow the exceptional service I received from the rest of the team. Overall, I recommend this hotel for a delightful stay in Kuala Lumpur.

We arrived at 6pm after a long road trip with the expectation to check in, refresh and head for dinner. To our surprise, all the 6 rooms that we booked are not ready and we’re told to wait while they get the room prepared. No apology extended or gesture offered while waiting and indeed the female manager on duty was very incompetence in managing the situation. We only managed to check into the rooms at 7pm. Room’s condition is poor especially the bathroom and basic necessity like toothbrush is not provided. On day 2, we can’t access the room and have to head down to reception and get the keycard sorted and reason being system error. Overall a very poor experience in this hotel and do avoid at all cost.

Back again to Grand Continental since COVID. The hotel is so run down and in dire need of some maintenance work. Quality of breakfast too needs attention. Only thing that is good is that lots of eatiries nearby.

Booked the hotel for an overnight stay while on business trip. The room is dirty with hair everywhere on the floor. The bathroom is moldy. There were even hair on the bed sheet. Seriously, I think the hotel management need an overhaul to running a hotel like that. If you don't have enough staff to clean, then just employ more. Otherwise just close the hotel.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in!! Management needs to bring it to standard! It’s called a grand Continental hotel nothing is Grand about it I would suggest they take the Grand away and just call it a filthy hotel

I posted a review on this hotel last in 2020 with compliments. Now, I came here again and it's getting worst... I said previously that it'd be one of the possible choices to stay in KT but now unfortunately it's not anymore :( the rooms we booked this time are urghhh... disappointing...dirty like it's not been cleaned at all with hairs everywhere in the room, door area and especially the toilet :(( they cleaned the next day but it's still like they don't really do anything.. but the bathroom is a bit acceptable now. Even in the other room, my parents asked for a change of sheets cause yeah same problem. Ants are still a problem here in the pantry area~ Not sure if we'll be here again next time...

Ahhh, also I saw that many guests didn't wear their masks upon entering the lobby even though they put the sign 'mask on' thingy... the staff/ security at the door didn't do anything about it hmmm

Location is excellent. 20 minutes walk to the market. everal eatries surrounded nearby the hotel. However the hotel and rooms are totally rundown and needs attention. Breakfast and lunch is average standard and needs improvement.

Just glad that we only stayed 1 night. There is nothing much to recommend about this hotel except its location which seems to be right in the midde of town and the free parking in the basement. Our room was dirty. The phone in the room had hair and dust. During Covid or even before, this is not acceptable. There were ants at the bedside table. The bathroom sink was leaking so the floor was wet the entire time. The toilet seat was loose. The bedsheets were not properly tucked in and were too small for the beds. The check-in staff was cold and unfriendly. No staff on duty at the swimming pool even though there was a policy posted at the check-in counter that guests need to book the pool use time. It was a public holiday, the pool was crowded with a rowdy group that definitely exceeded the number of people allowed. No staff were around on duty at the breakfast buffet at 6:15 am. Although all the food was prepared, the food was cold. Imagine eating cold nasi lemak rice! No crowd control and enforcement of Covid SOP. The same group of guests that were at the swimming pool the night before, showed up at the breakfast buffet. Some of them did not wear any mask while helping themselves to the breakfast buffet. Some wore masks but not covering their noses. We quickly left after that. We will not be returning to this hotel unless there is major improvements.

Moldy and dirty bathroom. Stained bedsheet. Cannot even observe a single of any kind of refurbishment done..outdated info from web.

1st- breakfast was terrible.

2nd -there are traces of shoe soles at bad sheets

3rd - front desk staff not friendly

4th - stunning view looking at KT bridge.

The food was very good. Thanks to chef. The hand shower head broken. The flush handle stiff. The tap at the sink was bad. Don’t know where the Water on bathroom floor came from. Room 512.
