Pros:

The location was very good and the parking space was appreciated. Ground floor King rooms are a bonus for those with mobility issues.

Cons:

The hotel itself could use some updating; paint was chipping around the door frames, exterior window frames and AC vents need a wash, but most glaring was the electrical situation in the room which appeared unsafe. i.e. the fridge, coffee maker, microwave, television, table light were all plugged into one power bar leaving a tangled mess of wires.

Basic motel well-located to break a journey.
Pros:

This was a stopover enroute from PEI to Cape Breton. The hotel is well located, easy to find and close to some good restaurants. We ate at Gabrieau's Bistro on Main St which was probably one of the best dinners we had all trip. Highly recommend! The breakfast at the hotel was basic but tasty and generous. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

Cons:

The room was motel 101 - a little tired but not unexpected. We were in a drive-up room which, although convenient for our stopover purposes, was even more convenient for the guest in the adjoining room who entertained several 'stopovers' throughout the night. Classy.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Maritime Inn. I fully recommend it.
Pros:

Location was great. We were able to easily walk to all meals and even toured around the campus at St. FX.

It's a motel, not an inn

Strong odour of cleanser upon entry. We had to leave door and window open to overcome the smell.

Cons:

Rom is outdated and furniture old. Beds and bedding old room needs renovation and too expensive. Bathroom has rusty curtain rod and ironing board rusty too.Room dark and dingy Will not not return. Several small bugs flying around .

The location and breakfast were decent however the property is in need of some major attention
Pros:

The property is well located. The free breakfast in the restaurant was good.

Cons:

The property is VERY worn. The paint, carpet, cabinets at the front desk, stained ceilings in the hallways and throughout. Everything felt like it needed a deep clean and a refresh. There was a blood stain on the bedding of one of our beds, the sink was a very slow drain, one of the mattresses had a big dip in the middle. For $200 /night I did not feel like there was value for the $

Our room was nice and clean. Breakfast was included and was a nice selection from the menu.

Our room was nice and clean. The Main Street cafe adjoining the motel had very good food. Breakfast was included with our stay and had a nice variety of food choices instead of the normal buffet selection. We were walking distance away from St. Francis Xavier university and the main street had lots of shops to browse.

The place is grossly over priced considering the condition of the hotel. The hallway carpets are filthy. The room is worn and tired and had a very sour odor.
