Perfect place to stay and start discover Abbiategrasso
Pros:

This Hotel, totally renewed, it's the perfect location to stay in town. Easy position, 2 minutes walk from central station, with nice and very clean rooms. View on the main ancient square with the castle is amazing and relaxing. You breath the italian atmosphere all around. Staff very helpful and good manners, which is very appreciable. Good italian breakfast with also some typical products and good service. A pleasant stay I would definitely recommend.

Close to business interest points, but guality...
Pros:

It was not the best hotel in the world. Issue with parking is not existing anymore, because you have to leave your car on public parking with copied a4 paper card on your windshield. Breakfast is poor, quality and variety. In fact it is closest hotel to many factories located in this area and it is he bigest advantage, because its guite crowdy there on the streets coming to the city. It is also hard to communicate in English. Invoice preparing is like going to Mt Everest. Really! And one more thing, I've almost forget - I had a roommate 😁

Very pleasant experience
Pros:

This is a very nicely situated small hotel, beside the old castle, run by an Italian family. They gave me a warm welcome and were very helpful and kind throughout my stay of 7 nights. I had a large quiet room which was always clean. The breakfast was simple but adequate for my needs. I would recommend and would also return.

Good only for local reps without too many issues
Pros:

Unfortunately for them I shall not go back.
It cost me only 50 euros and the parking at 5 euros seemed cheap.
However the hotel is in a pedestran one way street which the navigator does not understand .
The car park was so badly designed that i scraped a wheel trying to get out of it and i am a careful driver. I should have lect it on the road. It cost me 180 euros of avis car rental charges for the s rape to the wheel rim. And you have to go back to the hotel to return the car park remote control from across the square.
The room had a ridulous shower and they are so desperate for business that they charge the full amount as soon as you book the room online.
Better stay in Milan and come out in the morning.

Clean and Modern.
Pros:

This hotel is a little way from central milan, we had to catch the train to the underground then another two to central milan, good thing is the train station is across the road but if we realized how far it was we would have stayed closer to central Milan. Hotel room was clean and towels changed daily, can't complain about that at all. Our room faced the main road so was very noisy at night, our room was also very small. I asked if we could change rooms due to the noise but was told we couldn't. The air con didn't work in our room either which was awful as it was so hot in our room at night and if we opened the window it was too noisy so couldn't win. Breakfast was ok, basic continental. Overall the staff were friendly and the food at the restaurant at the back of hotel was lovely.

Hotel was nicely refurbished in fall 2013
Pros:

Ignore all reviews for this hotel written before fall 2013. Everything has been completely done over, so there are new bathrooms and new bedding. The staff is very friendly. My husband and I stayed for 4 nights in May 2014 and everything was fresh and pleasant. The buffet breakfast is ample, with a lot a variety. (We like protein at breakfast and were glad to see ham, cheese and yogurt.)

We speak no Italian, but I don't expect people in other countries to speak English, especially in a small town like Abbiategrasso. I was grateful that the desk staff was able to answer all our questions in English.

I would be happy to stay here again, and I recommend it to others.

Great, Newly Updated Hotel
Pros:

Stayed here for 3 nights. Newly remodeled rooms with great bathrooms. Daily cleaning left the rooms spotless with fresh towels and toiletries. Located in central location in Abbiategrasso. Steps away from train station. Free Wifi fast enough to use voice over IP without any problems. Continental breakfast every morning and small bar open every night. Quite a few restaurants within a block. Overall great experience.

Italian experience
Pros:

Booked this hotel through an agent trip to Milan to see Bruce Springsteen we were booked for 7 days was a bit apprehensive from reading some of the reviews. No need for concern, the hotel is due to be refurbished and furnishings need to be replaced, rooms were very basic but clean. Actually cleaned everyday with fresh towels and bedding changed twice a week. We had a twin room and shared the bathroom. The breakfast was continental with fresh coffee. All the staff were very helpful Giuseppe, Anna, and Massimo were very helpful with the translation and places to see and visit. This hotel and its staff gave us a taste of real Italian life. Abbiategrasso is a province of Milan and should not be confused with the suburb of the same name. Italian is the main language and not all speak or understand English, so learn a few words of Italian. To get to this hotel from Malpensa airport take the train to Cadorna F.N.M tube to PTA Genova and train to Abbiategrasso. You can see the hotel on your right as you exit the station. It is next to the library which is a very old Castle. Would use this hotel again.

Terrible Hotel
Pros:

This hotel is where we first stayed when we came to Abbiategrasso. We ended up checking out early because after 2 nights, we couldn't just couldn't bare another minute there. The room was so dusty that it felt like we were sleeping in an attic that hadn't been cleaned in 20 years. So many things were terrible there, that I can't even begin to list them all...

I have since been told that there is a really great B&B near San Pietro. If we had only known that at the time. I will probably give that one a try if we have guests coming to visit and need a place for them to stay.

Back to the 1960s
Pros:

The good ole 1960s. If you are nostalgic of the ambiance, the ineffective air conditioning system, the old radio appliance, old carpets, vintage furnitures, etc. this hotel is for you. I don't agree with the former comments, the breakfast is less than average for the category. But, having said that, I keep a good memory of the place; mostly because of the good locatiojn of the hotel and the surprisingly active nightlife around (you will not notice if you stay at the hotel).

Good clean Accomodation
Pros:

My friend and I travelled here with a great deal from Easyjet, we were pleased with the hotel, nice and clean, clean towels everyday and beds made each day aswell, friendly staff. Breakfast quite basic but good, and a few nice bars and eateries close by. BEWARE - we got the metro to Abbiategrasso - but the station called Abbiategrasso is not the town ! You need to get the Metro to Porto Geneva then the train to Abbiategrasso ! Train station is right across the road from the hotel.

Only Hotel in Town - great location, good breakfast - cheap - no a/c - dilapidated furnishings
Pros:

Okay, this is the ONLY hotel in town. I rated this excellent only for the good reasons I've listed. Here's the Good and the Bad: First The GOOD: if you can stand being in the hot, humid common room, their free breakfast is very good. Fresh, hot brioche, espresso or cappuccino, juice, butter, jam, bread, salami/ham/cheese, etc.. Most mornings I went to the cafe right outside (Bar Castello - cafe, enoteca (wine bar)) and paid for breakfast in the fresh air. The people that run the hotel are very nice and helpful. Massimo usually is in the common room fixing your cafe' or baking the brioche and he's very nice. The twin beds in our rooms were low to the ground, but comfortable - we slept well. The bathrooms are serviceable and the towels are large and thick. There are nice ladies who clean your room/make your bed each morning (couldn't tell when/if linen was changed but think it was). The location is fabulous. You are in the center of town, cafe's, banks, restaurants (Ristorante Ca Stello is right outside - I recommend their pizza, pasta and especially the fresh fish - I love the mixed fried fish platter - it's awesome!) pastry, bread, deli's, gelateria's, toy/clothing/linen/jewelry stores, churches, etc.. at a short walk. It is not very expensive either to stay here. The BAD: there is no air conditioning other than opening your 1 little window in the bathroom and the 1 big window in the bedroom. There are no screens on the windows, so expect creepy crawlies in the night - not many, but for me one was enough. The furniture is 70's era - cheap, stained, ugly and uncomfortable. You get one crummy desk and one plastic chair in the room. The 70's era upholstered chair is very low, uncomfortable and stained. Their website lied about the wi-fi in the common room, they have one old, unreliable computer stuck in a very small closet with a chair that is no desk chair. The internet in this very small town is slow as expected. Even though I am a confirmed a/c queen, I would stay there again. I bought my own bottled water to leave in the room fridge - I bought a 6 pack for the price of one of their bottled waters. They have an unpolished gem if only they would upgrade to a/c, paint and replace all the furnishings. They could make a lot more money if they would.

Simple Accommodation well worth the stay.
Pros:

Stayed at the Albergo Italia on our holiday to Italy. Found this hotel to be very nice. Reception staff are very helpful & generally speak good English. Rooms are simple but still good enough for us women; bathroom was good, spacious single beds [pillow not too hard], Tv & bar fridge in room [drinks at extra cost about €1.90], desk & chairs, large built-in wardrobe. Oh, & they do provide very large towels in the room as well as the small ones.

We stayed on the 2nd floor overlooking the main street & park/fountain below. Hotel is right next to a castle [since down-graded throughout the years]. Felt safe here -restaurants, gelateria, bar, supermarket all nearby & in easy walking distance. Train station just across the street. Noise level of traffic is minimal.

Breakfast 'continental'; juice, jam/butter, croissants, buns, & something extra each morning [e.g. yogurt or cakes or some dish]. The bar attendant [nice fellow] will make you tea or coffee & bring ti to your table. Smallish Breakfast area with TV [about 7 tables]. If you prefer muesli/ cereal in the morning -you can purchase this at BILLA. The bar attendant will be glad to provide for you spoons & bowls. I drink only soy milk so just bought this down with me each morning [kept it in our room fridge] to have with the meusli.

Milan [Porta Genova station] is about 27mins by train from Abbiategrasso. Trains run every hour from Abbiategrasso.

If your not satisfied with Milan shopping [too expensive & not much variety for us], the local markets at Abbiategrasso -held near the hospital [again in easy walking distance from the hotel]- are really good with plenty of bargains on Italian made clothes as well as fresh food produce.
