Hotel 48LEX New York

The location is great. The room and the view were very nice, and the room was very clean. However, the hot water was not very hot, especially since it was very cold outside. The central heating was quite noisy and did not provide enough warmth.

After reading some of the negative reviews, I was a bit hesitant about my reservation. I wasted time with worry as my experience was wonderful from the minute I stepped into Hotel 48LEX. Brady at the front desk checked me in quickly and said my room was available.

My room was quite spacious and very comfortable. The thermostat was set and the room was nice and warm especially since it was extremely cold outside.

This hotel was convenient to where I needed to be, and was also very close to Grand Central Station, which made continuing my trip on Saturday afternoon very easy.

The staff that I encountered over the weekend were quite friendly. Checkout was a breeze. I would gladly stay at Hotel 48LEX again.

I have mixed feelings about my stay. On the positive side, the hotel itself is beautiful. The guest rooms are extremely nice, and the snacks and drinks offered in-room were a wonderful bonus. Furthermore, the staff is truly excellent—attentive, professional, and very responsive to every request.

However, several functional issues made the stay difficult, particularly for a business trip. One of the two elevators was down, which was quite frustrating when trying to move through the hotel. We also struggled with the conference rooms; a cooling issue made them extremely hot, forcing us to keep the doors open for airflow. Because the conference area is right next to the social lounge, we had to deal with constant noise. While the staff was very helpful in asking loud guests to quiet down, the combination of the heat and the noise made it a very difficult environment for work.

The biggest hurdle was the internet. While it worked better in the conference area, the Wi-Fi in the guest rooms dropped approximately every 10 minutes. Having to constantly reset the connection and re-register our room number or access code caused extreme delays in getting our work done over the weekend.

While I appreciated the hospitality and the quality of the rooms, the technical and maintenance issues made it nearly impossible to have a productive stay. I would not recommend this hotel until these issues have been resolved.

Beautiful room with a perfect view. 10/10 shower! Location was great for exploring, a short stroll to grand central or other subway connections. Writhing walkable distance to Times Square or 5th ave. Lots of restaurants and bakery’s close by too. Staff were friendly and helpful - available 24/7. The room was cleaned daily, with towels refreshed daily. Premium toiletries provided - a shampoo worth using!

Nice, quiet hotel. Great value with New Year's discount rates (thanks Instagram) and a free upgrade to the 22nd floor. Good full breakfast for 2 ($37 with tax & tip). Complimentary wine each late afternoon in a lovely, quiet lounge. No more than a 10 minute walk to Grand Central or the 4/6/E lines.
