A lovely little hotel with very friendly staff.
Pros:

Centrally located in Peebles with lovely, friendly staff. I had a lovely meal and a comfy sleep.

Cons:

The TV didn’t work but I only wanted it for background noise so it wasn’t a big deal. I’m sure if I’d asked they would have fixed it.

This was our second visit and we'd happily recommend the hotel.
Pros:

Breakfast was very good. The location is amazing and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Cons:

The hotel was very warm in all the communal areas like the dinning room and bar. It was too hot but luckily we could turn the radiator off in the bedroom and open the window.

A lovely hotel in the heart of a picturesque town
Pros:

First time visiting Peebles and couldn’t have wished for more. The Tontine is a lovely hotel in the heart of this small, picturesque town. There’s a very pleasant, cobblestone area to the front with tables, chairs and parasols to enjoy a drink and watch the world go by. The hotel has its own private car park to the rear, next to a little park by the side of the river Tweed, (great spot for a picnic), and whilst it’s only a very short walk from there, it’s quite steep. So if you have heavy luggage, pull up outside the front of the hotel and drop that off before parking. Breakfast was very good, with a selection of both buffet style continental and table service full cooked options, served in a beautiful dining room. If I’m ever in Peebles again, I’ll be staying at the Tontine Hotel.
