There is no elevator in the property, but there are 4 rooms located on the ground floor should guests require them. Subject to availability by prior request.

Excellent stay!
Pros:

Very helpful and friendly staff. Great location with a lovely walk to work through the museum gardens and along the river. Excellent breakfast.

Cons:

Chairs in the room could be more forgiving.

A beautiful characteristic building, clean, friendly, good location with onsite parking. We will definitely return.
Pros:

A lovely characteristic and clean place, friendly and helpful staff, beautiful relaxing garden to the rear, onsite parking and location close to the city centre. We would definitely return.

Cons:

We were on the very top floor, no lift and would be tiring for older people (there are rooms on lower floors though). Being on the top floor during a heatwave meant the room was very hot too… they did open the windows and supplied a fan so I can’t complain too much. The room was very nice and comfortable otherwise.

Pros:

Perfect location a short walk from the city centre. Parking available if pre booked was fantastic.
Fantastic hotel with gym, sauna and plunge pool.
Fabulous garden area with seating too.
Beautiful bedroom with luxurious bedding....super comfortable bed. Ensuite shower room was wonderful with toiletries supplied.
Fantastic breakfast was included in my rate.
All staff were friendly and super helpful

Amazing all round.
Pros:

Very clean indeed. The staff went out of their way to help with everything they possibly could. The beds were so comfortable & the room was massive. The breakfast was cooked to order every morning. Just about anything you could want.

Cons:

The only thing I didn’t like was that the shower floor was too slippy. A silly thing really but everything else was exceptional. Amazing.

Unbearably hot room, no warning or compensation, and no refund for the second night.

Very disappointing stay. The weather was exceptionally hot, but the real problem was the location of the room: it was on the top floor, directly under/above the rooftop, and became unbearably hot overnight with no air conditioning and restricted windows due to safety reasons (fall risks). We were not warned about this in advance, and we were travelling with very young children, so the room was not suitable for our family.
We understand the hotel was fully booked, so there was no alternative room to offer, but that meant there was no real solution to make the room suitable. We had to move to another hotel for the second night, and the hotel refused to refund that unused night, even after we explained the situation. There was no commercial gesture and no acknowledgment of the problem, which made the experience even more disappointing. Would not recommend, especially in hot weather or for families.

Perfect spot for a weekend in York
Pros:

We loved the location just 10 mins away from the centre but in a quiet area. The beds were comfy, the staff were really helpful. We also had massages and used the hot tub and sauna which were brilliant and the outdoor space is very relaxing.

Cons:

We visited on the hottest weekend of the year and though fans were provided, we struggled to get the room cool but we would absolutely visit again.

Perfect little gem in central location
Pros:

Dinner was perfect. Breakfast was perfect. The staff are so attentive and friendly. I asked if they had a spare fan and wham! One appears immediately. Ditto with Bottles of water. They can’t do enough for you. We will be returning soon. The location is ideal. There’s a lovely little garden too with seating and a bbq. Spa. Sauna. Hot tub. I could go on. Mandy and Greg and a couple of others are perfect. Feels like home from home 😀
