We had the most lovely new years break! There’s good parking, the staff are amazing and we immediately got an upgraded room on arrival. We did two hot yoga classes, both were fabulous and we so enjoyed our extra big room with a bath. The beds are incredibly comfortable, didn’t want to get up! We did the hot tub one night as well and that was loads of fun! The hotel is a couple minutes walk from the city and our views were amazing. Would def return in the future!
Nice location lovely staff breakfast excellent - have stayed here a few times and will book again
Nothing
This place is lovely and clean really nicely decorated and fixture and fittings top notch the bed and pillows were so comfy. We stayed bed and breakfast and the breakfast was great we had full English very tasty! There was quite a few things to choose from the menu. There is parking on site at an extra cost. I suggest you get there early to get a decent parking space we arrived late, however the owner of the property did manage to squeeze us in. It's literally a 10-minute walk into town and the York minster. So it's in a great location. This place gets five stars from us ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Everything not one complaint
Everything was great staff.room and breakfast would highly recommend
Lovely warm welcome, superb location and powerful shower. Very entertaining welcome guide!
The first night we left the heating on and it was stifling but we turned it off the next night and slept better.
Spacious freshly decorated room and large modern en suite. Comfortable beds. Off street parking.
Room door opened onto side of bed and had to be opened 180 degrees to get into room. Was on third floor and large single glazed window overlooking rear of property not good if you don't have a good head for heights!
Beautiful property, ideal location, spacious and clean! Comfort rooms with everything you need. They really have covered everything possible!
Everything was wonderful, the only thing I was sad about was I didn’t realise we needed to pay to use the jacuzzi and sauna which I didn’t budget for. I had been before and there wasn’t a charge so I wasn’t prepared. Honestly though it didn’t spoil our stay in the slightest and next time I will be happy to pay!
Location, staff, breakfast, communal areas
Attention to detail in our room
Friendly staff and well located with parking
Absolutely excellent stay at Hedley. Perfect location, driving in from A19 meant we didn't have to navigate the city traffic. It was only a 10 minute walk to the city walls with a flat, well lit, safe roadside path both day & night.
Accommodation was as warm & friendly as staff, really family-owned vibe. Beautiful original features in building with a home-from-home feel. We stayed in room 25 on the second floor. Lots of stairs but totally worth it for the newly refurbished, spacious room. Very quiet, facing the back of property and large outdoor sitting area ideal for summer.
The bed was huge (two singles together but very comfy with a third single bed in corner.) Nicely decorated room. New bathroom with huge walk-in shower up a few steps which felt more like a suite than room, just missing a sofa or table & chairs!
Relaxing night, brilliant visit, great price, will definitely be back!
Our only minor criticism would be breakfast. Compared to chain hotels, it was more pricey without as much choice or value. I was hung-over, so only wanted a bacon butty whilst my partner went for full English. But the price options were either light breakfast or full English so I couldn't downgrade & didn't get the benefit of the cereals, fruit, yogurt and toast offered alongside my butty on the 'light choice'.
However, it was home cooked, served with friendly and attentive staff and the excellent service made up for price. If you like a big breakfast, its totally worth the cost and quality not quantity. Food is quite pricey in York so probably on par elsewhere.
Staff were very friendly. Hottub was lovely. Bed was super comfy
Additional charge to use hottub. No conditioner in bathroom. Got cold in the room at night.
Clean, had everything needed in good location to the city Center
The hot tub is only available at specific times so pls ahead before your stay if you want to use it!
