Loved our stay here, location is perfect, right in the centre of the village a convenience store almost next door. Lovely breakfast although it doesn't start until 8.30am which for us, taking a 10.00am train from Moreton in Marsh, the nearest station, meant missing breakfast in order to catch the hourly bus to the train station.
Lovely big room with separate bath and shower, sofa and desk in the bedroom.
All in all, we loved our stay and will definitely go back.
We loved everything.
Muy bien todo
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was in a lovely position and the room was delightful.
The worst part was finding the car park. That's why my score wasn't as high as I would have liked to give.
I did explain to the manager that the hotel really needed to signpost very clear instructions on their website, where the car park was, and how to get there. And at the hotel clear signs, big enough to read from the car, needed to be placed at the pedestrian entrance to the Hotel and along the route to the hidden car park. Especially the little lane that finally leads there which many people might miss as it doesn't look like a roadway. A guest having breakfast at the next table had not found it at all.
Excellent location
Car parking on site
Excellent evening meal
Friendly, helpful staff
Room on top floor difficult to access, up a very uneven , steep staircase .
Although help was offered with luggage , this room ...no.4 ...definitely not suitable for anyone with mobility problems Not advised of this
Room was cold with radiator not on at arrival
Hole in floor under carpet in which I caught my foot and stumbled .....a tripping hazard
No hanging facilities for clothes, apart from 2 hooks behind door. No coat hangers / closet/ wardrobe
Thick dust and cobwebs behind bedside table , on skirting and plug socket
Workmen on roof of adjacent building who started drilling etc at 7 20am . Not the early start you want when on an overnight break . Not advised of this on arrival
Nit picking here , but artificial flowers in room .....not in keeping with the old building
Shame they were not fresh flowers
Great Location, central to the main square area. Food and Drinks very fairly priced for the area (many other places a lot more expensive). Great to have car parking. Character hotel with beams, sloping floors and an array of steps. All great if youre fit, able bodied and agile (particularly for the top floor).
I found the hotel quite cold. When going to breakfast, windows and doors were open. Sat in the breakfast room, I was cold.
I think it would help if it was clear when booking that there are very steep steps to the top floor rooms. OR, when booking, it would help if the staff asked if the occupants had any walking issues. OR, when arriving with osteoarthritis and a recovering knee infection following knee surgery, but allocated room 11 (the last room and up the mountain climb angle of stairs), maybe the Receptionists could just enquire if the visitor needs any help with bags,,,,rather than being told "and then up the further steps which are steep, but then that is what you get in an older building" Shocked about the uncaring announcement with no consideration for how the visitor is going to manage.
The little cottage that we stayed in as my mobility wasnt good in the cold
The food warm welcome and comfortable room
Everything was very good.
Nothing only we had one night to spend there
Good central location!!!
Bed felt like we were rolling into each other as was way to soft!!!
The staff were extremely friendly and very hard working, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was very good and we wish that we had been able to have an evening meal but unfortunately, due to personal circumstances, we were unable to do so. The bedroom was lovely, with a nice bathroom and an endless amount of hot water.
The stairs to our bedroom on the second floor were incredibly steep and narrow and definitely not suitable for anyone suffering from any kind of physical impairment. Despite the 'mind your head warning', I did manage to bump my head on the beam at the foot of the stairs twice during our stay and I'm not the tallest of people. The mattress on our bed was far too soft and, personally, we would have preferred a firmer mattress.
Hotel is in a good location, had a car park and breakfast had good options.
The room was up some really steep stairs, we weren’t informed of this or offered any help with luggage.
You could hear everything in the room next door, it felt as though we were in the same room.
The toilet had a system that would make a strange noise that went off a lot in the middle on the night and woke us up, it also didn’t smell pleasant.
The shower wasn’t pleasant, the pressure wasn’t good and it didn’t stay hot.
The bed wasn’t comfy, the mattress was placed a plank of wood and the pillow protectors were very stained.
Feels like the room needs a freshen up.
Location was good, building has lots of character and excellent breakfast.
Nothing all good.
Location in the centre of Stow.
Very small room and tiny shower room. Bedroom on first floor shower and toilet on ground floor. Very steep steps.
Location was great, staff were really friendly
