Odeur insoutenable
Pros:

L'odeur dès l'entrée dans l'établissement. Une odeur d'urine de chat. Deux chats vus dès l'entrée, des croquettes et litières exposées. Dans la chambre l'odeur est là même.Les draps, les coussins sentaient le vieux

L'odeur était impossible, nous y sommes restés une demi-heure et partis sans même profiter de la chambre que nous avions payée d'avance. Une odeur insoutenable

Acceptable but building interior very tired and unkempt.
Pros:

We were in a bedroom in the attic and the stairs were quite difficult to negotiate from the first floor to the second floor. The restaurant was very good. Food was very good. The hotel itself was in need of a good clean and the building is very tired. Toilets on the first floor were very bad indeed. Dark brown limescale, staining on the toilet pans and everything smelt very old and unclean. Whole experience, whilst acceptable, was unkempt.

À repeat stay in a very convenient en route place.
Pros:

Our second stay which shows we had confidence in what we would experience. We like the traditional french way of doing things that is well done at the Auberge

Cons:

There was more obvious traffic noise than we experienced in June but the night time was very quiet.
