Location was spot on for the Excel Centre. Hotel was modern and contemporary with excellent room layout and feel. Staff were friendly. I was able to park my car easily. Nice bar/resturant.
Nothing
Friendly staffs.
Was not informed that parking is paid for before I chose the facility, the shower gel port was not refilled even after we informed staff at the reception
Location
The bar is lovely but expensive
The room is very basic, very clean though.
The coffee is awful coffee bags with no taste, no spoons so difficult to get the bag out the cup. No duvet cover on the duvet
Many thanks to the lovely colleague at reception and for the unexpected upgrade. I’d forgotten that I had accumulated Silver membership lol. The suite was spacious and so comfortable, perfect for a stay with an older child. Breakfast offered good variety and I appreciated that it was complimentary for my son.
DLR closure made the location somewhat less convenient, but this was of course out of the property’s control.
I didnt like anything, this place really sucks.
What didn't I like, where do I begin? Its impossible to find, stuck between an airport runway and a system of docklands. Its in a motorway striven, wetland straight-jacket so there is nothing to walk to. You have to drink and eat in this tombstone to corporate mediocrity. They have put brightly coloured ill matching furniture in the departure-lounge style bar eatery which gives it a sort of kinda-garden feel if all the kids were heavily medicated and had lost any sense of fun. Its tacky and loud as the corporate decorator no doubt was emailed to achieve. They have also put some purple tiles on the facade and the odd bit of striped carpet in the hallways in a desperate attempt to appear 'cool' but like that uncle in the yellow cardigan its just sad. After my first warm bottled beer, I asked if my second could be cold. I was told the fridges weren't working, not before I was served of course, after. When I asked for a draft beer I was told they were out. Thats right a cold beer is beyond these people. That is setting the bar too high. The link to the internet wasnt working but a lovely young lady would scuttle around putting the underpinning domain number into your browser so you could get access but it couldnt be saved, so you needed her every time and ofcourse therefore no internet in your room. The food reflects TGI Fridays from the 1990s and is cooked or reheated by people who clearly eat elsewhere. And there are some weird little touches, although i booked a room for two, you get one can of water. One. I really cant convey enough how much i disliked this testiment to how a place looks and feels when the person making the key decisions, is in Denver. Awful.
The property is well situated and is literally 5mins walk via the Hotel Lifts to prince Regents tube station. That for us was great.
There was nothing I disliked about my stay. As a suggestion for further improvement, the seating provided in the accessible bathroom facilities could be made a little larger to enhance comfort for guests with disabilities.

The staff were very helpful during our stay, they were very accommodating. Any questions we had were answered very quickly, the room itself was fantastic. We had a desk which was very helpful and the bathroom was very nice.
The air conditioning did not work very well throughout our stay, so it wasn't very pleasant in the room as well as the mattress was not secure so it moved as we moved onto the bed.
The price surge due to MCM Comic-Con makes it something that I wouldn't pay for if given the choice. I appreciate that it is near the convention, however with the fact that parking is an extra £20 per night on top of this stay, I couldn't justify the price.
I made reception aware that I would be checking in late (22.30 - 23.00) and they checked me in quickly as I arrived.
My suite was clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. I slept so well. I even requested a late check out which was given to me as a complementary.
Breakfast had a great selection. Everything fresh, hot (where needed) and the staff were extremely attentive.
I had dinner also in the Hotel restaurant which exceeded my expectations! I throughly enjoyed my steak and red wine and once again the service was 10 out of 10.
The only thing was that I went into the lift after someone that had come out of the pool and so the floor was soaking wet. This could be a little dangerous for elder guests.
Friendly staff, good location, good food
Water provided for one person in a room unless more is requested for
Location, friendly staff, good service
Water provided for just one person in a room unless asked
The location is perfect. Room is as nice and clean. Staff very friendly
Only one can of water per room, really isn’t very good for two people, should provide at least water for both people.
Tea/coffee good but not very generous.
Pool lovely but no clean towels and no one to ask, which was very inconvenient.
