Everything about this hotel is excellent. Lovely area and a massive car park for a start. The real asset of this place is the staff however. Nothing is too much trouble and the service is friendly, first class and old fashioned in the best sense of the word. Breakfasts are excellent and there is none of this nonsense of cooking your own toast, spooning out your own beans or making your own tea from scratch with one of those infernal coffee contraptions. They obviously think it’s worth paying someone to bring you your breakfast and the ingredients were top quality. They can be busy at mealtimes but they look after residents well. We needed a quick sandwich and it was no trouble at all.

Unfortunately there was a generator or fan noise we could hear all night long,shutting the windows helped a bit,and we did eventually sleep,but it was then very warm in room,I understand hotels need these machines,but it would really help if they were switched off overnight.

The initial receptionist was welcoming and clearly communicated her message relating to the parameters involved in the service the hotel provided. This included the timeframe for the provision of meals whether evening dining or breakfast.
It was timely that the hotel informed the guest that the hotel was in the process of replacing the beds in the hotel because the bed was short and uncomfortable (lumpy). Nonetheless the bedroom was spotless and the provision of complimentary tea, biscuits and bottled water was a nice touch.

Absolutely nothing
The location is superb. Such a lovely area of Aberdeen.You can talk a nice walk to the Centre or a short taxi ride. There is a car park, a massive one!
The staff are first class. We needed a quick sandwich in 30 mins and it was done despite it being restaurant hours , I have forgotten the name but it was Sat 4th at teatime so thank you to the lovely lady in charge of the restaurant that day.
Also at breakfast there was none of this nonsense of making your own tea at those infuriating coffee machines or serving your own dried up eggs. Plated up and delivered to your table which is what I want for my money!!

Been going here for years and the staff are consistently excellent

Food was excellent at breakfast and evening meal.. Staff work very hard, look smart, friendly and very helpful. Not been for two years and like the improvements to the bathrooms and bar toilets. Smartened up in the public areas so looks very nice.
It was nice to be visiting again. Location is very good with a bus stop metres away. Parking very good too.
My only criticism is the dated furniture, furnishings and decor in the bedroom we had. Because it's an old building our bed was sloping and it was quite uncomfortable so I didn't sleep very well. Maybe offer a bed topper for added comfort. I'm guessing the bedrooms will be updated however it will take some time to complete any refurbishments.
