I have always wanted to stay here but found it above my budget so when I was presented with a voucher for £250 it was the perfect time to experience The Manor House. We had a Sunday package which was bed, breakfast and evening meal (allowance of £30 pp) and we were in a suite - the cost was £270.
We had a wonderful stay, our suite was on the 2nd floor and comprised of a bedroom, changing room, sitting room and bathroom (unfortunately only a shower and no bath which was a little disappointing), nicely decorated with a view out over the garden/orangery.Everything was immaculately clean throughout. Great choice of areas to sit - Library, foyet, nice bar area and lovely dining areas. Lovely garden areas and I'm sure in the summer it's a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the calmness.
We had a lovely evening meal - despite being apprehensive of the choice - we had olives/bread to start then opted for the chicken which was delicious, then shared a desert of sticky toffee pudding which again was delicious - all washed down with a lovely bottle of shiraz.
We had a really comfy nights sleep followed by a nice breakfast .
Staff were all very attentive and polite.
Ample parking either at the front of the hotel or at the rear of the hotel behind the barrier.
The stay met with my expectations (shame there was no bath) and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
The hotel is stunning and each social space is warm and inviting. We had a cosy double room and it lived up to the name.
Room was great - spacious with comfy beds and chairs, coffee machine and kettle. The bathroom was huge with a large walk in shower and roll top bath.
Reception staff were helpful and friendly.
Service at breakfast time. Man taking room numbers was quite rude when I asked if I could have a latte rather than ordinary coffee. Breakfast was not as hot as it could be and was not well presented. Also, when I asked for scrambled eggs and salmon I was told this was not an option despite both being on the menu separately.
Bar area etc really nice , staff really friendly. We ate in the restaurant and one would have thought a stone bass fillet would be a decent portion . However, if your fillet is the size of a fish finger (not kidding) then I felt a bit ripped off. Food tastes good, but just not a lot of it so buyer beware
Hotel lovely, room decorated very nicely and clean.
Slight confusion on breakfast order but it did get rectified quickly
Staff were very helpful and courteous and allowed me to park my car in the car park 5 hours prior to checking in so that I could catch a train to Oxford for the day. The room was elegantly furnished and warm and the Bathroom amenities were of good quality. I slept very well in a most comfortable bed, and the breakfast was excellent, with a great choice on the menu, and very attentive and polite staff. Just a tip: If you have a room on the top floor ( as I did), accept the offer of help with your bags as the hotel is a bit of a maze and has narrow staircases to negotiate. Its charming nonetheless, and quite amusing getting lost in there. A lovely place to stay.
Nothing to dislike about this wonderful hotel.
Bar. Cocktails very nice. Lager could have done with being a bit colder.
Nothing
