I really enjoyed my stay at the Hyatt Regency Cape Town. The first thing that stood out to me was the location — right on the edge of Bo‑Kaap, with its colourful streets, great spice shops, and easy access to top restaurants on Kloof and Bree Street. It made exploring the city effortless and gave the stay a real sense of place.
The rooms were another highlight. They were modern, clean, and comfortable, with thoughtful touches like blackout curtains, a good in‑room coffee setup, and beautiful views depending on the room type — whether mountain, city, or landmark views. Everything felt well‑maintained and of a high standard.
The service truly made the stay memorable. Every staff member I interacted with was warm and attentive, and there was a genuine sense of hospitality throughout the hotel. Guests often mention exceptional service, and I absolutely agree — the team really goes out of their way to make you feel at home.
I also loved the breakfast. It was varied, fresh, and generous — the perfect start to each day.
The hotel’s amenities, like the outdoor pool, fitness centre, and reliable high‑speed WiFi, added even more convenience and comfort to the stay.
Overall, the Hyatt Regency Cape Town offered a great combination of comfort, style, excellent service, and a prime location. I genuinely enjoyed my time there and would happily return.
Nothing
Wifi , travel desk was excellent. Porter service was good.
Breakfast limited choices compared to other like hotels I have stayed at.
Lovely, spacious rooms and bathrooms. Interleading rooms allowed for convenience of my family group. Halaal food being available was a major win! The staff were always courteous, friendly and obliging. The location in Bo Kaap is amazing (RSA experience at one's door step literally). Views of table Mountain and Lions Head were amazing!
For a 5 star rated place, it's ridiculous to be paying for parking, especially in RSA, with safety concerns etc. Much cheaper hotels offer free parking! Also, the bathrooms appear to be updated, but the floors and furniture in the rooms were VERY dated, and in some places broken or falling apart (major anticlimax here). Lastly, housekeeping is sketchy on the weekend (left our room at 10am, and on return at 5pm it still wasn't done). Also, a small kids club or play area would have been nice. There seemed to be zero available in the way of kids leisure activities.
An exceptional experience at the Hyatt Regency. The level of service was seamless - attentive without ever being intrusive, which made the entire evening feel effortless.
Urchin restaurant was outstanding. The seafood was phenomenal, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. The ambiance, music, and overall setting created such a special atmosphere.
Everything was executed with care and attention to detail. Definitely a place I’ll be returning to.
Lovely hotel, clean, great staff, excellent breakfast, and good location.
The gym was way too small.
We stayed 8 nights - all worked out great for us.
We had an absolutely outstanding experience in Cape Town thanks to our guide Redhaa from DreamCoast Tours, arranged through the hotel travel desk.
From start to finish, everything was seamless, professional, and incredibly well thought out. We did multiple full-day trips (Cape Peninsula, Winelands, and more), and every single one exceeded expectations.
Redhaa was not only extremely knowledgeable, but also genuinely warm, attentive, and clearly passionate about what he does. He made us feel completely safe and at ease at all times — which was very important to us — while also ensuring we saw the very best of each destination without ever feeling rushed.
What really stood out was his ability to tailor each day to our preferences, adjust the pace perfectly, and add thoughtful touches and local insights that you simply wouldn’t get on a standard tour. The vehicle was comfortable, timing was always spot-on, and logistics were handled flawlessly.
Cape Town is an incredible destination, but having the right guide makes all the difference — and Redhaa truly elevated the entire experience for us.
We would highly recommend Redhaa and DreamCoast Tours to anyone looking for a safe, smooth, and memorable way to explore the region.
Thank you again for an unforgettable trip!
The location was key for our exploration of Cape Town. Close to the Table Mountain, Cape and the beach. Waterfront is very close as well. Best you use an Uber to get around. Rooms are new, spacious and well maintained.
The staff was perfect, very friendly, thoughtful and efficient.
Centrally located. Checkout at noon is great, too.
I phoned ahead and asked the hotel if they could please switch on the AC in the room and set it to the coldest setting. It wasn't done. When I arrived I wanted to order room service, but there was no menu in my room. By the time someone brought the menu it was too late to place an order at the bar. If there had been a menu as there was supposed to be, it would've been in time. It was the hotel's fault that the order was late. I asked room service and reception to make an exception, but they refused. Furthermore, for a Hyatt Regency to not have a coffee machine is terrible. If I wanted instant coffee I can stay at a 1-star hotel.
The staff was extremely helpful and friendly
The staff were exceptionally friendly and very kind. We had a lovely room 210 spacious and comfortable bed !
The bar upstairs was lovely by the pool.
The burger patty was really tasteless and dry.
Food.
Nothing.
