Beautiful Zermatt Hotel
Pros:

Beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. We were collected from the railway station and taken to the hotel and given a welcome drink. The staff were very friendly, helpful and informative.
Everything is immaculately clean and well cared for.
Super restaurant with plenty to eat at breakfast. My favourite meal was the cheese and meat fondue evening in the little wooden huts outside. We had the but to ourselves and it was lovely.

Cons:

I would have liked the spa to have been open for longer. It was only open from 4pm-9pm presumably for the skiers. As we weren't ski-ing, it would have been good to be able to use it during the day. However, we used it every day and it was wonderful

nice, quiet and comfortable accommodation
Pros:

what i liked most in this hotel is a room with sauna and steam bath right in the bathroom. we travel with our 3yo son, that still naps at noon. and it was such a pleasant extra to have during his nap, since one of the parents has to stay in the room and can't go to spa meanwhile.
the staff was very nice and after the first breakfast they remembered the table we liked, so after that they sat it every morning for us with a high chair for the kid even before our arrival. that was a very sweet detail. breakfast was nice, had a little bit of everything.
also enjoyed a lot their house cocktail (it was a spritz, if im remembering well)
beside the hotel there were some snow fields with a few slightly inclined areas for a toddler to enjoy the sleigh, which hotel kindly provides. there are also big sleigh runs to do in the surroundings, but that just wasn't suiting us

Cons:

the walk from the hotel to the bus to take your to ski station or to town was 7min walk away. with a child, with skis, with ski boots on. and that part of the road, being on the outskirts of zermatt is not serviced, so it was covered in ice, we had to walk very carefully.
again, because of our child we couldn't really go out much for dinners, so we thought we'd just eat in the hotel restaurant. but the food was so not great, that after 1 lunch and 1 dinner we started having heavy lunches elsewhere in town and skipping dinners altogether. cuisine with pretension to modern, yet very badly achieved. we'd rather have just typical mountain food than a trying to be haute-cuisine hard crust croquette with rice inside, being sold as a local cuisine inspired whatever. soups were all spicy, couldn't give any to my child. and the separate kids' menu is very poor. basically fish sticks and chicken sticks and (probably) pasta. after 2 meals like that even a 3yo wants something different. although we than found a lovely restaurant called Waldhaus just around the corner with some lovely soup, fresh mussels, tender ribs and more. some good variety and feeling of home cooked noble meal

Modernes Berghotel in ruhiger Lage mit sehr guter Ausstattung und tollem Personal und exzellenter Küche

Ausgesprochen freundliches aufmerksames und gut gelauntes Personal! Exzellente Küche! Geschmackvolle moderne Einrichtung, geräumige Zimmer, ruhige Lage, schöner kleiner Spa.

Cons:

Betrifft nur Skifahrer: Wir hätten uns einen on demand Transfer von der Talstation der Gondel zum Hotel gewünscht. Der Hinweg zur Gondel geht gut mit dem Bus, der Rückweg von der Gondel ist etwas umständlich und die kostenfreien Skibusse waren teilweise überfüllt. Die Skiroute, welche in der Nähe des Hotels vorbeiführt, war Anfang/Mitte März gesperrt. Die Lichtschalter waren etwas klein, die Beschriftung schwer lesbar.

Alpine Gemütlichkeit, modern interpretiert
Pros:

Wolle, Leinen, duftendes Holz und Matterhorn-Blick: das Zimmer ist hochwertig im modernen Alpinen Stil eingerichtet, und hat viele wunderschöne Details. Es ist warm, gemütlich und ruhig. Das Frühstück ist fantastisch, das hauseigene Restaurant hat eine vorzügliche Küche. Eine schicke gemütliche Bar hat einen guten Sortiment an Getränken. Auch Service ist warmherzig und professionell. An meinem Geburtstag wurde ich am Morgen mit einer süssen Überraschung begrüsst, der Tisch am Abend speziell dekoriert. Wellnessbereich ist top! Auch Skiraum ist geräumig, hell und mit den privaten Schränken ausgestattet. Die Kooperation mit Julen Sport funktionierte auch einwandfrei.

Cons:

Die ausgeklügelte Lichtsteuerung funktioniert nicht (die einfachen Lichtschalter wären uns lieber gewesen). Auch die verschiedene Knöpfe in der Dusche verfehlen ihre Funktion. Die Musik in der privaten Sauna hatte eine Dauerstörung. Ein Stopper in der Vorhangstange fehlte: man hat die beiden Reihen (Gardinen und Storen) in eine Schiene eingehängt, mit dem Ergebnis, dass die Verdunkelung an einem Fenster nicht möglich war. Mein Mann musste noch klettern, um das zu reparieren. Das Bettkopfteil war direkt gegenüber der Eingangstür, mit dem Blick auf dein Eingang, die Schuhe und die Garderobe. Feng Shui sieht anders aus. Hauskeeping muss diesen kleinen, aber wichtigen Details mehr Aufmerksamkeit schenken.

The staff were so friendly!

Cons:

The pillows were not comfortable and we had a hard time sleeping. We also couldn’t adjust the AC and tried opening the window to cool down the room.

Room was spacious , comfortable bed and very clean
Staff were helpful and friendly
There was a spa, but did not have time to use
Pick up and drop off included

Cons:

It is quite a walk out of town, about 18 minutes down in normal shoes, and a walk uphill at the end of the day.
There is a local bus that is convenient, that drops you at the lift in the morning, but a long way around on the way home. A hotel shuttle would be perfect as it is an uphill walk with skis
Drain smell was there for 2 days

I had a skiing accident during my stay and the staff at the hotel could not have been more kind, patient and helpful. Also the view from my room, on top of the facilities, including the mini spa in the room itself were just perfect
