Dardanos Hotel

We were two couples relaxing at the end of a busy 18 day trip around Turkey spending our final days in Gelemis, near Patara beach.

I hadn’t been here since the late 80s so was nervous it might have changed beyond recognition. It is still quiet, welcoming, friendly and very charming. There are some fantastic little bars, restaurants and boutique shops there.

Arif, the friendly manager of Dardanos is really what makes this little hotel stand out! By the end of our stay we felt like we’d made a friend. He’s incredibly hospitable and knowledgeable, speaking fluent English and German and some French and Italian as well, having travelled all round the world. He is genuinely interested in his guests and wants everyone to enjoy themselves and to relax.

He gave us tips on walks and places to visit like the local fruit and vegetable market where we bought kilos of olives and tahini to take home!

Dardanos was comfortable with large bedrooms and a wonderful pool in the pretty garden which we appreciated after walking every day down to the beach visiting the ruins, and a day trip to Kas which we loved.

The only thing that disappointed us was that Patara beach is where the sun loungers are is now covered in cigarette butts, something we found everywhere in Turkey. No one is collecting the butts - it’s a blight on a protected area, and what was once a stunning pristine beach. There are plenty of bins, but people don’t seem to get that they aren’t biodegradable. Walk away from that area and it is much cleaner.

However, don’t let that put you off as a visit to the sand dunes to watch the sunset is absolutely magical. We would all return to Dardanos and Gelemis if we could!

I left my reading tablet at the hotel and the hotel manager was so helpful in getting it back to me. What a beautiful property and kind hosts!

On arrival I was greeted with a friendly smile and given a courtesy cold bottle of water. Exactly what I wanted! That set the tone for three perfect nights. Great breakfasts with a wide choice of fruit too. A lovely pool area which I discovered on the last day and a knowledgeable, friendly owner. A spacious, comfortable room. Nice garden bar for a pre / post dinner drink.

Sıcacık samimi bir karşılamayla otele girişimizi yaptık. Oda çok temizdi. Çarşaflar yastıklar tertemizdi gerçekten içimize sine sine yattık. Ayrıca yatak ve yastık inanılmaz konforluydu. Son zamanlarda uyuduğumuz en huzurlu uykuyu uyuduk. Alanya'ya tatile giderken yol üzeri 1 gece konakladık ama o kadar çok beğendik ki dönüşte de aynı otelde konaklamayı düşünüyoruz. Hatta önümüzdeki yaz gelip 2-3 hafta burada kalmayı düşünüyoruz.

The hotel is simple but clean and has a charm with its own characteristics
The location is close to the city center within walking distance and the good quality breakfast with real fresh squeezed juices even though it was not a big selection to choose .
I prefer the quality of food than the quantity and it s not wasting good either.
The hotel manager Arif was so kind whatever I needed during my stay for one night.

Patara merkezde kısa süreli konaklamalar için kalınabilecek ideal bir mekan. Oda biraz küçük olsa da konforlu ve yeterliydi. Özellikle bahçe ve havuz çok keyifliydi. Ayrıca personel ilgili ve güleryüzlü. Biz sevdik, yine gitsek tercih ederiz

The most beautiful hotel with wonderful team who couldnt do enough for you. The breakfast was incredible and the pool area beautiful. It was early season so it was quiet but i felt so at home and enjoyed myself immensely. The bar and pool area are stunning and i couldnt recommend this place more. Thank you for a wonderful relaxing break.

A really wonderful family run hotel in this charming village, twenty minutes walk from the beach or a short low cost taxi ride (advisable in the midday sun) to 16km of largely undeveloped beach. The area is stiff with stunning archaeological ruins, many thousands of years old.

Great food and drinks around the village or in neighbouring Kalyan, a short drive/taxi ride away.

When I booked my stay here, I was mistaken about its location. Traveling on a shoestring, dolmus rides a plenty, I had a long day traveling to Kas where I thought I was staying. Long story longer, I called Dardanos and he assure me I would have more dolmus time to reach them. When I got to the turn off for town, they were expecting me. He had a drink ready for me and helped me with my planning. Also giving me a lift so I would catch the next round of dolmus for a boat trip in Kas. My errors brought me to wonderful people and a memorable time. Travel is like that, lessons can be learned if you’re open to them. I’m glad I stumbled into Patara but wish I had stayed longer.

The Dardanos is a complete gem. Situated in the tiny village of Patara it’s a great base for the exquisite Patara beach, the spellbinding archeological site of ancient Patara and nearby sites at Latoon, Xanthos, Saklikent and Tlos. The beautiful towns of Kalkan and Kas and Fetihe are close by. The hotel is small, spotlessly clean with beautiful simple en-suite rooms and a fabulous pool. Breakfast is fresh and delicious in the flower haven garden. Arif runs this place superbly. He is relaxed, knowledgeable and always helpful if you need anything. Definitely the best place to stay in Patara , and in the area if you want a quieter more authentic trip than the busier more touristy towns nearby. And the beach is astonishing- miles of golden sand unspoilt by buildings to conserve the loggerhead turtle breeding ground.

I cannot recommend this hotel, and Patara, highly enough. We are coming to the end of a 6 night stay and it has been brilliant. The hotel is clean, calm and relaxing. The breakfasts have been wonderful each day and Arif and his staff have been nothing but welcoming. I’d certainly return to Patara and if so would certainly stay here once more.

If I could give this lovely hotel 6 stars I would! Dardanos Hotel is such a gem, the employees are exceptionally kind and generous, the rooms are beautiful and clean, the pool area is so peaceful and the breakfast was excellent! We had only booked the one night and ended up booking a second night—we simply couldn't get enough of this place!

This is our second time in this hotel. Quiet, wonderful, clean and the staff is very very nice, truely care about their guests. We are very happy with the standards provided here at Dardanos. Breakfast is fresh and generous, rooms are clean and quiet, the swimming pool is clean and beautiful. We recommend this place. Arif and his team are wonderful. Great holidays

Pour aller à la plage soit il faut passer par le site payant soit prendre le chemin à côté hôtel ferah en pleine nature et dunes (3 km) : plage fantastique

We just love this hotel, this was our second visit, also our first holiday since before lockdown, we were not disappointed. It is just the perfect match of the hotel, the gardens & pool, hotel location and of course Arif the hotel manager and his team that make this hotel such a joy to visit and stay in. The Dardanos hotel is probably the only place other than home that I truly switch off, chill and just relax! :0)
