The hotel rooms are in desperate need of a refurb.
Bathroom is outdated and signs of patch repairs everywhere.
Plus side was that the room was quiet, cool and the bed very comfortable.
Golf
The location and setting was perfect, very tranquil and peaceful. Enjoyed the walk around the picturesque golf course. Just what we wanted for the 4 night long weekend.
Hotel, restaurant and golf club staff were very accommodating, polite, keen and very patient.
However the Spa service was poor, no communication as to the treatment requirements or during the actual treatment, probably the worst massage I have had.
The time period for the treatment was supposed to be 50 minutes but the masseuse left quietly after 35 minutes.
Wouldn't recommend the Spa if visiting this hotel.
The room was spacious and comfortable but does require some maintenance throughout.
The hotel breakfast was spot on, but did have an issue with overcooked food for dinner, on the one night that we ate in the hotel restaurant, this was reported it to the head chef who assured us that the issue would be be investigated and rectified. The meals we had at the golf club house were found to be decent with no problems.
Really enjoyed the facility and hotel ambience.
Amazing stay with Family and Friends
Rooms were cleaned daily, bed super comfortable and all the amenities needed.
Always love returning to Selborne and stay in the golf view rooms.
It's time for bathroom modernisation though.
Lovely challenging golf course with a great clubhouse.
Will be back next time in the area.
Die Umgebung ist wunderbar, unser Zimmer war auch sehr schön. Die Zimmerreinigung war sehr gut. Leider kann man das Frühstück vergessen, auch das Personal war nicht interessiert und nicht freundlich. Schade
Lovely lush surroundings with an abundance of wild life, staff very friendly and accommodating
An excellent stay, just what we required, tranquil settings, relaxing and quiet.
Excellent food and service throughout.
Large outdoor pool and lush surroundings. Very peaceful with waterfalls all over. Staff in all sections of thev hotel went above and beyond to meet guest expectations. Rooms were large and spacious. Wish they had more plug points and catered for international tourists. A bit pricey.
Comfortable. Leaves a lot to be desired
Cleanliness could be better. The curtains are very dirty they have not been cleaned in a very long time. The sliding doors still had hand marks all over them frim the previous occupants. Ths bath enamel was chiped showing some rust. There was also a lot of insect gecko poo on the walls which have not been cleaned in some time room 34.
We booked at the hotel was then moved to a villa due to east coast radios booking at the hotel. This was ok and I did not mind. However no tea or coffee, toiletpaper or any ameneties in the villa. We also could not have breakfast at the hotel for which I paid and had to take our breakfast at the club house. The lady there very friendly and helpful, but breakfast not great. I felt that we were done in somehow
It was a holiday we needed except the food it was horrible ,ribs were too sweet ,pasta we ordered didnt have salt limited menu an ontop of that limited menu some things in the menu they didnt have ,other that the food service was excellent ladies at the front desk and the restaurant they were 👌
The hotel was good to stay at. But the process to enter the estate on arrival for check-in at the main gate needs serious improvement, especially if the guest does not have the access code.
This is the second time we stayed at Selbourne and we had to change our room on both occasions. The cleanliness could be better. Service was good but can be improved
We attended a wedding at hotel and booked into the Garden suites. The hotel is beautiful but does need a little TLC. The gardens, golf course and the scenery is great. It is a tranquil and relaxing setting. The staff were very pleasant, always helpful, they really tried to please. The rooms were comfortable and clean but in need of a revamp. Our overall experience was good and I would revisit this hotel in the future
GREAT SERVICE BUT SHOWER FLOOR VERY DANGEROUS AND SLIPPERY A SHOWER FLOOR SHOULD NEVER BE TILED WITH SUCH SLIPPERY TILES ITS A ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN AND SHOWER DOOR HINGE ON THE BOTTOM IS BROKEN
Reception staff were friendly and welcoming. The hotel is nicely decorated and has a variety of amenities including pool, tennis courts, games room and also a separate private area close to the beach (you have to drive), with a pool and secure area with a gate leading to the beach. Had a great time here - stayed 2 nights. Nice extras in the room - coffee machine, fridge, chairs + an outdoor seating area. We booked a room overlooking the fairway which was nice and of course we had to sample the golf course which I had booked from the UK through their website (not realising if you booked at the hotel you got a discount). Club hire selection wasn't brilliant but the course was amazing, very well kept, challenging and scenic. Would def recommend staying here, the only thing that let it down was the quality of the food (main course) at dinner so we only ate in the first night.
