Location perfect, rooftop pool, fantastic views
No hotel bar unless it was part of Why Not and we overlooked it!
Staff and facilities has been exceptional. Mira and Mirriam and their colleagues on other shifts on reception and roof top has been wonderful with their genuine hospitality and professionalism. Made me feel truly welcome and made a difference to a fantastic stay.
Location
The toilet smell was awful, and 3rd floor room opened out into restaurant.
Location was excellent, being located near the town hall and old fortress/walls/cathedral, view from the roof was nice and we enjoyed the rooftop heated pool. Breakfast was good with a large selection of local products. Hotel provided a complimentary bottle of Cava and chocolates for a celebration. Most staff were polite and helped with arranging transportation to local attractions.
The poor state of the rooms and utilities within the room:
- lots of dust and dirt in a room that should be cleaned daily, bedsheet was stained
- had to ask for a waste bin (which is provided in EVERY hotel as standard), phone didn't work to contact reception (had to keep going to reception to inform them), bathroom douche did not work, windows did not open properly and rooms were not soundproofed at all (can hear people in other rooms and the streets), WIFI is inconsistent (in the original room, I had no signal except near the shower)
- when requested to have the issues looked at, they said a technician would investigate, and 6 hours later still nothing
- rooms have an illogical design - no shower privacy (transparent door) which can be seen directly from the bed, to get ice you have to go outdoors to the roof, up and down some stairs and in an unmarked cabinet (why not have it near the water dispenser indoors?), in the first room the cabinet door doesn't open fully because it scratches the door/hits the bed frame
- when we complained about the dust and hygiene and the broken douche, we were offered another room(the douche in the toilet did work this time, room was a bit bigger and looked a bit cleaner)
- But thermostat was not working, no blankets were provided (only noticed in the early hours of the morning when we felt the cold) until we raised this the following day (they should have been standard, they even told us that the blankets should have been in the room)
Other than the above, the receptionist who received us on arrival for check in came across as quite abrupt. Rest of the staff were generally pleasant and polite and attempted to be helpful to resolve some of our grievances (they provided us with another room and eventually provided blankets on day 2), but the general issues with cleanliness still persisted (dust on the wall of the headboard which was noticed on day 2 that clearly wasn't from a single day).
Ligging van het hotel in de Sierra Alhamilla, ook de uitstraling van het gebouw en de thermale baden.

A return visit . Amazing location and views. Lively room . Staff very helpful and welcoming . Great spa facilities .
The location
Wifi didn’t work properly and don’t go in the spa part. This is a joke. Overpriced. No sauna. Dark everywhere. Can’t bring a towel.
Location
The spa, breakfast and the location were 10/10 - fantastic. We went to the spa three times (you need to book it in beforehand) and we really enjoyed each one.
There could have been more attention to detail in terms of housekeeping - not enough conditioner and shower gel when we arrived, we were only allowed to have two coffee sachets a day (which didn't always work in the machine), having to ask reception three times before something was fixed, removal of the small bar of soap during room service, but not replacing it with a new one.
Less easy to change is the layout of the room, with a sink in the bedroom and a separate shower cubicle (with see-through door) and toilet (with a frosted door). It would be preferable to have a separate bathroom for better privacy.
Excellent location in center of the city. Easy walk to all sights
Quite dark in the passages between the floors and going in and out of hallways. The condition of the floors in the room was quite worn and several places inside the room and on the roof terrace have loose flooring. Considering the hotel is “fancy” it should have better quality amenities such as glasses or mugs for coffee and tea (and better quality tea). In addition considering the cost there should be more than one towel per guest.
