Candlewood Suites Avondale-New Orleans by IHG

As someone who travels frequently for work and depends on extended-stay accommodations, I can confidently say my experience at Candlewood Suites Avondale has been exceptional. I have stayed here off and on for nearly six weeks while working on a local project, and the level of consistency, professionalism, and comfort has stood out throughout my entire stay.

The property itself is clean, well-maintained, and perfectly suited for extended stays. However, what truly differentiates this location is the leadership and service culture created by the team.

I would like to specifically recognize Sara, the General Manager, along with Ms. Jessica, for delivering a level of hospitality that goes beyond expectations. During the peak Mardi Gras season — when operational demands are at their highest — they demonstrated outstanding professionalism, flexibility, and genuine care for guests. Sara’s leadership is clearly reflected in the positive environment and high service standards throughout the property. Both she and Jessica worked with my schedule and ensured my stay remained seamless despite the busy season.

In today’s hospitality industry, it is rare to encounter a team that combines operational excellence with authentic customer care. Their efforts made a lasting impression and represent the highest standard of service.

We enjoyed our stay at Candlewood Suites in Avondale. We received a gift bag on our arrival and were greeted by a very cordial woman named Sarah. She was so helpful in giving us suggestions on where to eat and different sites to see. She made us feel right at home.

The general manager was amazing! She really helped me have a great experience. Loved it!!

Sarah was the absolute best. I met her a few months ago & we chatted about my stay. I told her I needed to stay because my father was battling Alzheimer Dementia. She offered such kind words & had such a genuine spirit. So as things progressed with dad, I had no other thoughts than to go back to Candlewood & Sarah. When I made my final hotel stay to prepare for daddy's celebration of life, she immediately knew who I was. When I entered the property, she knew me by face & again was her kind self. The hotel is neat, clean & just what i needed. Thank you Sarah for everything.

Rooms are very nice staff is great but the owner has set AC to go up and the rooms are hot and AC is not good at all

Room was warm. Ac was off when we arrived. Set to 66. Never got very cool. Room was clean. Water pressure and volume were low.

I didn’t like there was no snacks or drinks available except coffee…

The room was awesome. Comfortable beds . Full ice box with ice maker. Small stove top
The only dislike was the A/C did not cool like it should have. We had the thermostat on 65 and it felt like it was 75. The staff were very friendly. I would definitely stay there again

Jessica at the front desk was very helpful with every question and request that I had, She never hesitated going above and beyond her duties. I wish I could see her again if I ever come back to the New Orleans area.
