Super friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is really cool. It's very basic. It's old but cool. Like an old school beach hotel. Nothing fancy but very well maintained and clean. Don't expect a fancy modern place. Just a very nice place to while the day away at the beautiful Jersey beach. The beach is about 100 yards away.
I can see how this hotel would be amazing during the summer months. Very close to the beach, amazing location. Walkable to restaurants.
Parking was ok because I was visiting in October but summer months I can see being difficult.
There is an odor in the hotel, maybe a cleaner in the lobby?
Unable to lift blinds to look out windows. A/c very old, black mold in vents.
Someone on the floor cooked something at 3am and it stunk up the whole floor for hours, ventilation not good.

I booked the wrong date for this hotel by mistake - I noticed and called within 10 minutes of the booking- the person told me that the manager was the only one that could chan ge the date of the reservation and i left my number & was told the manager would get back to me - I also immediately called Expedia I've been a Platinum memebr for more than 10 years - although in the begining there was only Gold members. Expedia called the hotel & told me they were waiting for the manager to call them back. EXPEDIA NEVER GOT BACK TO ME SO I CALLED THEM AGAIN! I had booked the room for the 27th but wanted the 20th easy mistake caught in 10 minutes. So stopped by the Hotel on the 21st and was told that DAVE the owner wasn't available - I left my number and explained the issue to the "front desk" person who assured me that he would give Dave the message. Well no response they stole my money and now I will make sure Dave is rewarded. As for Expedia their emails telling me they couldn't get in touch with the manaager to rectify, as far as I'm concerned is a lame excuse since in reality they represent that they are helpful to their customer. Also they have asked for this review - but Expedia doesn't even have the dates right It was check-in 27th not 26th like they show - Ichecked the email confirmation so I know I am right. Expedia may have lost a good customer & the hotel owner/manager should get what he deserves in the future.
It seems a bit run down
The only thing good was its in walking distance to the beach. Out of 3 days, 2 days the room keys did not work. The first night the girl gave us 2 different keys then we were never told someone would help us. Was sitting outside on the porch and we see the girl drive away? Wow what customer service. We had to find someone at the desk counter to come help us again, this was at 11pm. The 2nd night the keys did not work again, we got another set of keys, thank god that wasn’t as long a waiting time as the first night. Other patrons also had the same problem with keys. The room floor was slanted? Felt like I was still on the boat. Not only that when I pulled up my receipt to show the front desk person I see since I booked it a month ago the price went down $69. If I knew that I would have booked at the last minute. I asked if I could get it adjusted they said no. No?? Terrible!
Basic clean budget room. Our room did not have a hanging area or closet for clothes .The location was spectacular...a half block from the beach.

The staff was amazing. The property was clean. However, the place was dated for the price in September (off season)
The service was great
The inn is two minutes from the beach which is wonderful. They offer breakfast on Sunday mornings which consisted of bagels and donuts which was a very nice surprise. The staff was very kind and answered any questions I had during my stay.
The only downside is the noise level within the inn. If you're on the second floor you can hear people walking around above you while you try to sleep. You can hear the lobby below and people in the halls very easily which can make sleeping a little difficult if you're sensitive to noise. To get to the rooms the staircase is a little steep which may be difficult for older individuals.
I like the location, however the property needs a lot of TLC, the repairs, paint and general appearance looked like children fixed it. Furniture and linen needs to be updated. This property has so much potential

Room was very clean and comfortable. The air conditioner was very loud, I had hard time watching TV at night.

Great location, friendly staff and laid back. Not fancy but comfortable beds and a huge porch in front to chill.
Not happy about the $200 hold on my debit card still there long after the room was paid for and checked out. Couldn't check into my other hotel because of that. I asked the Belmar to release it, still waiting. Could have had a better room elsewhere for the price. AC unit in the room was ungodly loud. Bed was uncomfortable. TG it was only for one night. Don't ask about the steps to the upper floors.
Clean room friendly staff
Only stayed one night. Front desk staff were very friendly. We booked a single “double” bed room and it was shockingly small. Main complaint would be that the air conditioner, which was a window unit, was very noisy. It’s clearly an old properly, which I was prepared for.

The check-in and out were so easy and fast. The room was clean and nice. The staff were friendly. I really enjoyed my stay there and if I'm going to visit this area again, this hotel will be my choice.
