Location and view were exceptional
The elevator was broken. We were on level 5 and no one offered to help us with our luggage.
We had an ocean front apartment so the view was amazing , the horizon pool was lovely too
The room could have been cleaner , when we first walked into our apartment first thing I was greeted by was a grubby chair with stains on it, thread bare carpet in master sweet with many stains on it. Behind the tv in the Master it was thick with dust, blinds are old and need replacing . Lounge area would be more cosy with a rug . These apartments are 20 years old and starting to show it. But you can not beat the view of the ocean .
Location is excellent particularly if you don't have a car

My old man is not so goon on his feet. We asked about a lift to go up to the room which we were told to walk the long way around and there's one there. We did that to get to the lift and found a sign saying it wasn't working. You should know that before you tell people to catch it. We paid $350 for the night and the only blanket for the bed had no cover on it. It was bad enough the stains we could see let alone the ones we couldn't. I expected better than that for the price we paid. Also they don't say anything on the booking anywhere that you need a $200 bond on it on arrival. Big piece of info to know before you book
The view
Air conditioning didn’t work, fans made a Terrible noise, clothes dryer didn’t work, coffee machine didn’t work, the walls and floor were dirty with dirt , hand prints and mould, showers had mould apon mould like it had never seen bleach. Also had disgusting hair clogged in the drain. Toilets were badly stained. Ceiling poured water in the middle of the night had to pack up and book out in the morning and then wait till 2pm for another room…. Which was just as filthy ! Our weekend was just ruined..😡
The views of the ocean were great
We had to pay a $200 deposit for our key fob..we weren't told prior.
Our apartment was directly above a communal swimming pool, the noise was awful and we had no privacy on our balcony as the pool area was beside us.
They also did not tell us that the pool lights stay on all night, so your apartment has bright blue light shining through it all night..even with the worn out blinds down.
There were live cockroaches in the oven, no doona covers on the donnas which were all stained, no sun loungers to relax on, our patio door lock was covered in sea salt(extremely thick) and we struggled to open it and the frosted glass stickers were all scratched up and peeling off.
The bed was awful, sagged in the middle and collapsed at the sides. Horrific.
I was told by reception that the lift was not in use, and had not been in use for some time.
We were on the 2nd floor.
There was a huge puddle along the corridor leading to our aoartment and others, from something leaking, this was there the entire time of our stay.
We were told we had undercover parking, thinking that was great, only to find out everyone parks there and you are lucky if you can find a spot let alone your allocated one!
We had an apartment with what we think were staff living quarters just above us, they played loud music that thudded in our room for hours.
I had to call the reception in the end to intervene.
We paid over $2k for a 3 night getaway for our wedding anniversary . We saved hard and have been left wishing we had never chosen grand mercure, as it is not grand at all!
