I don't like this hotel. It's noy even 2 star hotel, they gave me 1 towel, I requested 2 and it seems to be a big deal. I will never stay there. I don't like the bathroom style. It makes the bed linen damp.
I will rate them 4 for safety. It's safe.
You know those pictures of the ruins of the once opulent residence of Mobutu Sese Seko at Gbadolite and the sadness it evokes? Thats how i felt at the Onomo. The staff who were supposed to be bilingual weren’t too helpful, the first room i was allocated smelled like it was an extension of a sewer. It must have been once grand and opulent but like Gbadolite had fallen unto hard times. But the beer was cold.
There is no compelling reason to stay at Onomo Dakar - the location, the room, the service - nothing is compelling. If you don't have a car, there are no restaurants or other major amenities within walking distance. There are no major attractions within walking distance. The room itself is fine for a 3 star hotel. Not great but fine. The hotel is tired - everything is on the shabby side.

I recommend
From a complicit staff(just reference my prior reviews and why) instructed to disturb me, to mildew on the walls, to unnecessary loud noises throughout the day and night, Onomo dakar will never have my business again! They don't deserve to be in business, clearly.
The hotel was very central to dakar and the staff and security went the extra mile in helping me. The food was excellent as a buffet service amazing variety for choice.
It was fine for late arrival and early departure but is in need of total refurb compared to other Onomo properties.
Curtaines equipment tel que les cless
Nice
The bathroom design is not the best out there, they should do something about thr water flowing when someone takes shower
The staff was very friendly and professional.
The room was nice and comfortable.
I will like to recommend this property to any one planing a vacation to dakar
Great place to stay, not the greatest wifi connection
The Onomo hotel is average by all counts, and certainly not worth the price tag they claim for the rooms. Top issue is their poor communication on booking conditions, I found impossible to change a booking period once payment was made on Agoda. The hotel refused to accept changing booking while on Agoda site, it was announced as 'flexible booking'. Turned out that neither Agoda nor the Onomo was willing to live to their words. Room are small and clean, staff is helpful, food is average and pricey. Never again.
The hotel is not worth $140 a night, It’s more Like a $70 a night hotel. I have travelled to 44 countries (IG: travelbyanymeans), and have stayed in many hotels.
Pro
Dinner buffer was ok, did not go to breakfast.
Bed was comfortable
The shower was nice and hot (Yessss)
The lobby, bar, pool areas are are ok
Cons
1. The sheets and towels were clean, but they were dingy.
2.The location is not good for a first time visitor/tourist. There are no bars, restaurants, etc, around the hotel. But, you can easily hail down a taxi in front of the hotel.
3. In general the staff needs customer service training. For example, I had a problem with the safe in my room. I had to go to the front desk 2 times to ask if someone was coming to check the safe. One hour had gone by. No urgency, no concern, no service recovery. I must give thanks to Ibrahim and Moda (the bartender) were exceptional.
This hotel definitely has potential.
