Front desk and bar people have given the worst service in NY or any other hotel in the work I’ve been. You are not a 4 start hotel it looks more like a 0 stars. Scammers
The staff are consistently rude and in a bad mood. The manager has no idea how to manage anything, the place is dirty, and to make matters worse, a pipe burst in my room, leaving it damp for two days.
Even then, no one on the staff did anything to help, let alone apologize for the inconvenience.
It was close to Chelsea piers which was my everyday destination
paid for a reservation that clearly stated breakfast was included. However, upon arrival, I was informed that on Saturdays and Sundays the hotel does not serve breakfast at all. Instead, they only offer brunch from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. This information was never disclosed during the booking process. This schedule is completely impractical for guests who leave the hotel early in the morning, especially those who specifically chose and paid for a reservation with breakfast included.
* Even during regular breakfast service, there are simply not enough staff to operate it properly. This morning, there was no one available to assist guests, and I had to leave without being able to get breakfast for my daughter before taking her to her two-week summer program at Chelsea Piers.
* The hotel repeatedly has no clean towels available. When I requested towels, I was told there were none because it was Sunday and the laundry service had not delivered them. This is completely unacceptable for a hotel advertised as 4 stars.
* Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday the rooftop hosts very loud parties with virtually no soundproofing. The music is extremely loud late into the night, making it very difficult to rest.
* Only one elevator is functioning, causing long delays and inconvenience.
* The front desk received packages delivered for me but repeatedly told me that nothing had arrived, only for the packages to be found later.
Tonight, at approximately 10:20 p.m., a staff member came to my room demanding that I move to another room because I extended my reservation through Booking.com and the extension was apparently booked under a different room category.
I understand that the room category may differ. However, I immediately offered to pay the price difference so that I could remain in my current room. The room they want to move me to has a non-functioning air conditioner, which is not an acceptable accommodation, especially during the summer in New York.
The location is fantastic, and the ambience of the lobby and rooftop bar were super cool. The rooms had the potential for being super cool, but layout wasn’t great and super limiting. Martin gave great recommendations for shops and food that was close by!
The first room that we checked into, was 80°, as it was 80° outside. The AC was broken, and when we asked, there were no other rooms available, which I completely understand. However, there was no other resolution other than bringing in a small fan which we were appreciative of. However, when we asked for a refund, they denied it, and then we tried to compromise hoping for complementary breakfast or dinner or room, service, etc. etc., they said absolutely not. So that was super discouraging that they weren’t even willing to give some type of credit. We were there for a race that weekend so sleeping in an 80° room was absolutely miserable. There was also very little staff on site, service was extremely slow.
Breakfast was not included. The food was good and the coffee was good. I didn't understand how to order even though the bartender was right there. They do not have decaf espresso. They do have oat milk. The prices are New York prices but not outrageous. There is an espresso machine in the room, and it has decaf capsules. Read the instructions provided in the room. The rooms are very modern and fairly spacious. Similar to but not as tight as a W hotel. Comfortable for two. The bed is built into a platform with slats like a futon. Very comfortable, but low to the floor.
My room (51) could be repainted. Particularly the area along the baseboards and the urethane finish on the platform bed. There is some evidence of water damage in the bathroom that could be fixed. Also it did not seem to heat up with the HVAC unit, so I was cold.
The staff was fantastic! So friendly and accommodating!
The rooms were super tiny...mine didn't even have a closet and the only place to sit was on the bed. I could barely walk around the bed. And the beds are super low to the ground, so really hard on my knees and hip. And the windows were very dirty on the outside. The room was clean, but just so small.
Good location. Friendly staff.
It had a good location as i was in town for business a block away.
Its not secure given night clubs on the roof and in the basement. And everyone uses the same elevators with no key card security.
The staff were incredible and so helpful!
I’ve stayed in a few hotels for work over the past few months and this has to the worst one so far. I was first on a lower floor and any minor sound outside the room or outdoors could be heard, so there was clearly no insulation. I moved rooms because the lights didn’t work tho and the second room was slightly better but once again, the lack of insulation was so difficult to sleep through.
Location and cute to the point accommodation
Great hotel, very clean and comfortable. Would recommend.
