Charming boutique hotel - superb welcome, excellent service, quirky property, great food.
Nothing from our point of view, but this wouldn’t be a very good for people with limited mobility as there were awkward stairs to our room.
Parking, across the road in a public car park, not an issue for us.
If I were to judge the hotel on its aesthetics and the staff alone, I would certainly have scored it a five.
The staff were fantastic, all very welcoming, friendly and professional.
The building is nicely laid out and very clean, the furnishings are interesting and well done if not a little loud in places , but we were happy with it. The only thing I would change would be the fake olive tree and flowers in the dining room. Put some real ones in there!
The things that let us down.
Firstly, we had no wifi and our television in the room didn't work, presumably because of the signal / internet outage. I'm sure it's not like that all the time but understandably it was a little frustrating.
The main reason we scored lower than we would have liked was the vegetarian food options.
Maybe the restaurant serves amazing meat and seafood but we don't eat it so the vegetarian options should also be up to standard. Sadly they weren't.
Beer battered samphire - very oily and I'm afraid that is all you could taste. The lemon mayo had way too much lemon juice in it as well.
The chickpea chips - weird, take them off the menu. If you are going to keep them, give them more texture, don't mush the chickpeas into houmous, maybe crush them, coat with seasoned flour and triple fry them ? So they are more like chips, with more bite.
The chicory tart, a real let down... It was not a tart, it was some chicory laid on a bare sheet of puff pastry with a small bit of blue cheese.
Put it in a tart case, pretty it up..more cheese please.
The mac and cheese was very nice and the portion was huge!
The truffle loaded fries were also very nice.
I think If Francesca and the rest of the team hadn't been so nice and attentive at service I would have made a bigger deal about the chicory dish. It really wasn't a good dish.
All in all, we had a lovely stay, we would stay again, but, unless some of the menu is changed or improved we may find elsewhere to eat.
Thanks to the staff for making our stay pleasurable.
Such a lovely hotel, the staff were very friendly and very helpful nothing was a bother to them.
The room was spotless. The only meals we ate there was breakfast and it was very relaxed with efficient service and the cooked food was delicious. Lots to choose from on the continental side as well.
alles
Returned for a family meal, spacious, comfortable and welcoming restaurant.
Outstanding service by the lovely friendly restaurant staff always do welcoming and friendly a fabulous team.
The food was amazing as always.
Look forward to returning soon.
Called in for coffees and charged a service charge so 2 coffees £11. That is so much and I’d rather carry my own drinks from the bar to the table for that price added
A beautiful hotel, fabulously decorated with a lovely feel.
Beautiful surroundings, attentive staff with no exceptions, amazing food and a luxury room.
The outside space , and both restaurants
Found the front bedrooms very noisy with road traffic, and raised voices
Great location. Comfortable rooms and very clean
Slightly over priced for two nights. Staff a bit disorganised at first day breakfast but had improved on the second day - suspect more than one person made comments to them. Bar prices increasing and far more expensive than anywhere else in lymington.
the restaurant was comfortable and the menus very good. the outside areas were spacious and well kept.
for people with limited mobility some of the rooms would be difficult to access.
Beautiful room and bathroom
Nothing
Six of dined here to belatedly celebrate my Birthday with their free champagne! The restaurant ambience was lovely. Four of us enjoyed their new Set Menu. I had Samphire followed by Scallops and Fries and another had Fish Pie. Service was excellent. We’ll be back.
Helpful efficient recommended
