Great being in the village itself.
The English breakfast was good and the location perfect for our family occasion.

Room had character.
Nice tea/coffee/water selection.
Room was warm and cosy.
Shower was easy to operate. Appreciated non slip mat.
Curtains kept room dark for sleeping.
I did already fill in a questionnaire about this visit several weeks back (planning for my mother'ss funeral service in the church next door for which I then stayed 19-21 Feb) and had a reply from the manager so not sure why being asked again?
Lovely location, clean and tidy room. Fit for purpose. Comfortable bed and pillows. Quiet. Nice selection of teas and coffee in the room with sparkling and still water available which was a nice touch.

Loved the quirky rooms.
The location, the staff, the service, the breakfast and the room.
Also our family function at the back was great!
I was there with my husband, our daughter, 2 cousins and their spouses, and a dear friend, all of us staying 2 nights in a total of 5 rooms, for my mother's funeral at the church next door, so this hotel was perfectly placed, and indeed it is where we had the reception/wake with light refreshments after the thanksgiving service on Friday. This was my fourth stay in the hotel within the last couple of years. I will most certainly return when we inter mum's ashes with my father's, in the churchyard which we could see from our bedroom window.
I appreciate the building is old (c.1890) and so I understand why there is not a lift and that there are heavy fire doors, and more steps on the first floor to slightly different levels, etc. However, please note that my husband and I are registered disabled, and yet we were placed at the far end of the building (room number 6) which I with my arthritis (awaiting a replacement knee operation) and he with his almost complete sight loss, did find very challenging. Next time I will request a room as close to the central stairwell as possible (e.g. room 11 which we were given last time - this time it was allocated to another of our party).
Room was smaller than I expected, but still adequate.
