Breakfast was included but I had to pay extra for a cooked breakfast
Very pleased with this place. The staff member that greeted us was very welcoming and thorough, the room was clean and in good condition, and we even managed to check-in early. We prefer this kind of family room so we can keep an eye on the younglings.
We were informed of the ongoing building works around the hotel and of the provided noise cancelling window inserts, but fortunately didn't need them as there was only the distant hum of a generator in the background at night.
The next morning we came down for breakfast. There was fruit, milk, tea and toast among other things, all inclusive. To supplement this we ordered some waffles for the kids, which came with some greek yogurt and honey so we were all satisfied. There's a nice enclosed garden to enjoy too.
Not much to suggest really. Bathroom a little musty on arrival, but fine after airing it a bit.
ongoing construction next door so noise was an issue but managed. they allowed us an early check in which was nice. super friendly and helpful staff. adequate accomodations.
It's at a good location and the staff is very welcoming and helpful. It was a nice stay.
The room I was staying in was a bit too small and I would have appreciated some small cabinet/drawers to put my clothes in.
The staff were very accommodating and helpful .
There was construction of the railway next door, which did have some noise but was tolerable. It made the walk to and back from town a bit of a challenge.Room was cramped, and the stairs were steep and tight.
The staff was extremely pleasant and available at all times. Very accommodating and willing to provide detailed information about the city, and how to get around.
Mostly, the breakfast. Although our booking had "breakfast included", this was extremely underwhelming in terms of quality and variety. You can purchase breakfast on the side, with a more complete and acceptable variety. But this was not made clear during the booking.
Breakfast options were great. Hotel is near train station. I stored my luggage after I checked out.
Light over Room 3 sink didn’t work properly.
The shower head would be cleaned by soaking in white vinegar.
Central location
It’s not a hotel… it’s a hostel. As a hostel it’s probably perfectly fine. But a hotel, in my opinion at least, does not have shared bathrooms. Also, when I arrived, it’s in the middle of major building works. I was not told this when booking.. I was told a few days before arriving, by which time I had no ability to get a refund. The person at reception was quite dismissive and borderline passive-aggressive. “That’s your problem “ was one of the responses I received. I left, and booked a premier inn down the road. A real hotel with en suite toilet and bathroom and for the same price that this so-called hotel was charging. They’re point-blank refusing to issue a refund. Not professional. I appreciate that they have no control over building works, but they do have control over how they market their business - it’s absolutely not a hotel. I don’t mind so much about the money, it’s how they handled the situation that disappointed me the most.
It was clean uncomfortable and the breakfast was very good indeed. It was in the area I needed to be in for an early exit in the morning via the station so in that respect everything was as it should’ve been.
I wasn’t so keen on being in the annex
The hotel is in a very good location. The receptionist was very kind. Although the bathroom was shared, I did not get the impression that anyone other than us used it. It was very quiet and pleasant to stay there. The room was basically furnished, but nothing was missing.
Breakfast was included in the price, although it was the more basic option, with coffee, bread, spreads, and cereal. A more substantial meal costs extra. When the waiter heard that we were sticking with the standard breakfast, he waited for us to put something on our plates and then started clearing the food from the counter, even though there was still some time left before breakfast service ended. To be fair, he did ask whether we wanted anything else, but I got the impression that it would be better to let him finish his work. I didn’t feel especially welcome.
Propre, personnel très aimable
Un peu loin du centre (mais à côté de la gare)
The best part about staying there is definitely the breakfast - the atmosphere is ultimately British just as they show in period dramas. It was also 10minutes walk to the city centre. The hotel took care about noise screen in my room. Daily cleaning and towels change - that made my returns in the evening specially cosy.
Certain improvements and a bit of renovation could be done; bathroom felt very narrow even though I am not big..
