a good breakfast
nice location near to the main station
walking distance to all the tourist places
a bit old room
outside noise from the construction
Had to carry luggage both coming and leaving over 100 metres to accommodation. Had to pay extra for parking car. Room needed updating, plug sockets all in wrong places. Room tatty. Absolutely no point in having TV, it was so small about a 15 inch screen, it was like watching tv on something the size of a postage stamp when sitting on bed. They changed the locks of our door while we where out, without telling us. I spent 10 minutes trying to get into the room before walking 150 metres to the main hotel to report the problem. Breakfast very poor.
I travel to Oxford every summer for work and have stayed at the Westgate Hotel for the past 4 years. It's a great value, very convenient location and the nicest people. Always clean. I like the breakfast there too.
Clean and charming.

The hotel is in a great location, just a couple of minutes' walk from the train station and around a 10-minute walk to the city centre, making it easy to explore the area. The staff were friendly and happy to help throughout my stay. Although the hotel is a little old looking, it was well maintained, clean, and tidy, which made for a comfortable stay.
The only downside was the noise from outside. While it wasn't overly disruptive, there was a constant humming sound throughout the day due to construction work nearby, which could be noticeable if you were hoping for a quieter stay. I also felt the hotel was a little on the expensive side for what it offered. Although it was clean, well maintained, and in a great location, the overall value for money could have been better.
The Hotel is old style friendly with a cute garden for meals.
The ongoing and significant works to the nearby railway station meant it was a bit noisy.
Comfortable room in the annexe (quieter than the main building with the rail bridge works in progress). Lovely breakfast, and the cooked option (not Sundays) was excellent - worth the extra £6. Located near the railway station and great for a weekend exploring Oxford.
The wi-fi in the annexe was a bit patchy. It's a bit pricey.
