Good location. Nice pub with excellent food. Room very clean and well presented. Staff were amazing and nothing too much trouble.
I feel mean saying the as to a great extent it was outside their control. I would gladly stay here again but not during summer. It was a record breaking 36 degrees, the rooms have no air con, they did provide a fan which was useless given the temperatures. Our room was in the roof, totally unbearable and little sleep, hence why I have marked down for comfort. In milder weather or winter it would be an amazing stay and an easy 10 but during hot weather don’t do it.
Husband grew up in the street so it was lovely for him to revisit and see what had changed. He fondly remembers the pub and was pleased to recognise it from his memories. We had dinner here on the first night of our stay and the food was exceptional.
Everything was good.
Very friendly pub, easy to find perfect for what we needed
Overall, the day was great, I just didn’t like the glass doors going through to the bathroom, limited privacy
The location is excellent. The staff were lovely and the breakfast was very good except there was only melon on offer for the fruit option.
The single rooms are very small, weren't very clean and are a bit shabby with some crumbling plaster work next to the bed. The electric fans were covered in dust. There is a fridge on the wall in the rooms with milk stored in it but the milk is long life.
The shower water power is low.
It is very much overpriced.
Location and good breakfast
Noise from wedding venue below room
Loved the traditional pub with fantastic food.
Lovely old building interestingly furnished.
I liked it all but probably won’t be able to manage the stairs for much longer due to age. The food was good.
A lovely place to stay and the food was delicious. We had breakfasts and Sunday Lunch.
The location was ideal to explore Winchester on foot.
The staff were really friendly and helpful.
I would definately stop again.
Nothing not to like
Room was above a pub. Room was really nice. Had a bath and a shower. Good facilities in the room. Liked that they have portable fan and heater in the room so you can independently regulate room temperature. Useful with fluctuating weather conditions.
Breakfast was included in my price, good choice of cold and hot breakfast. Hot breakfast from full English to something sweet as well.
location was good, 5 min walk to town centre. it was situated behind the cathedral, so really easy access to restaurants etc.
Definitely pricey hotel, but room was very comfortable. I was on the third floor with no lift. if you have problems with stairs, please be aware.
You have to go through the pub to go to the rooms
Room was fine, and the greeting on arrival and staff interaction thereafter was friendly.
We had a very nice dinner and two excellent breakfasts.
Housekeeping. 2 silly shortcomings really took the edge off our stay. Shouldn't happen at this price.
Excellent location. Parking. Good food. Interesting building.
Liked it all. Stairs might be a problem for some but not for us.
Very central position, possible to walk nearly everywhere easily.
We found it difficult to find the Wykeham Arms, and came on a wet day which meant we could no explore by foot
Just a brilliant place to stay
Nowt
Very friendly and excellent staff. The whole character of the building. The quality of the food.
The stairs to the top floor bedrooms in the annex.
