Fourth visit here and still a top quality establishment.
Great position, friendly staff, good pub atmosphere. Very nice breakfast.
We thought it was priced higher than it should have been for two nights in January.
The location, the pub, the food and drink.
The bedroom was in a narrow, winding annex opposite, the room tiny with partition walls.
Fantastic atmospheric Pub
Delicious food
Very comfortable rooms and brilliant breakfast.
Absolutely so friendly and very friendly and super helpful staff!!
Beautiful and scenic gastropub in a quiet street near the cathedral. Extremely clean and tidy room. Very forthcoming and kind receptionists who made breakfast at 7:30am on a Sunday (the official start time was 8am).

Location was excellent
Noisy plumbing
Beautiful old pub with an amazing fitout including claw bath in the bedroom. It was the little extra's such as homemade biscuits and beer in the fridge, radio set to beautiful music when you entered the room. Breakfast was wonderful and such a huge choice. Staff were all great.
Nothing
The most fabulous pub and hotel run by wonderful people and filled with fascinating guests 🙏
Leaving
Breakfast was great. Location means you could park up for the weekend and not need to move, which was good as the carpark was full and cars needed to be moved to let us out to leave.
Cobwebs in the light fitting and shower room was small.
Wonderful welcome, fabulous room stylish and very well laid out, lovely food and attentive service.
Leaving
We ate dinner and breakfast both very good with good portions freshly cooked and hot. The service at meal times was excellent. We had a king size bed and room was larger than usual as was the delightful bathroom. Low ceilings but that added to the charm of the period property. Easy walk to main high street and attractions whilst being in a quieter part of town. Would absolutely stay again and recommend.
If you have mobility issues you may struggle with the stairs but it didn’t bother us.
It’s location is perfect for visiting Winchester. The rooms are large and comfortable and the food and staff are excellent.
Lovely old building, large and well equipped room.
Nothing really. The bacon at breakfast was a bit dry
