Food was very good and staff helpful

Cons:

Room was very small especially given I had booked for 5 nights. Bed was uncomfortable and very small.
Also telephone didn’t work so I couldn’t call for assistance to get my bags down the 2 flights of steep narrow stairs

Great location and a traditional pub steeped in history. Could spend days looking at the wall art and artefacts.

Comfortable, convenient hotel for all major attractions with free parking and amazing food.
Pros:

The food was excellent….way beyond our expectations.
Our waitress in the dining room was excellent. She was totally pleasant at all times, helpful, and efficient. We left a positive report in the visitors’ book on the first floor.

Cons:

The car park was cramped but there was just enough room and parking was free. There was no lift for our suitcases but a male member of staff took control and insisted upon carrying our cases upstairs for us. The hotel was only a short flat walk from all major attractions including the cathedral, the college, and the High Street.
