The single bed was very springy and the bathroom door didn’t latch properly and kept opening. The room door also didn’t not close correctly
Plenty of parking, nice breakfast
Not hotel's fault - we were there during the heatwave and it was a bit hot!
The location is good as it’s walking distance to the beach. The staff are very friendly, also the breakfast staff were really nice.
We had 3 rooms, and unfortunately, all three were completely different in terms of facilities.
Room 1 had air conditioning, Room 2 had only a cooler despite both being family rooms booked at exactly the same price, and Room 3 had just a fan. It felt very unfair that one family had to manage with a small cooler and fan while another had proper air conditioning.
Especially during the summer, I think families expect a decent hotel to provide proper air conditioning, particularly when all rooms are charged at the same rate.
The difference in facilities between the rooms was quite disappointing and definitely affected our overall experience.

The swimming pool was great and easy to access. The breakfast was lovely and had variation. The location was spot on, very close to the beach.
No air conditioning was very hot.

The staff were passive aggressive just generally unhelpful . The standard of the breakfast was terrible I recommend you eat out
The all round service and experience was excellent. Very accommodating hospitality, especially as I had to change the room last minute to accommodate my dog. This was a very easy stress free swap. The hotel is completely dog friendly which is just brilliant. The room even had a sea view, truly amazing. Upon arrival to hotel, I was given a dog welcome goody pack which my dog was excited about and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The dinner from the Gold lounge was absolutely delicious, I luckily had the opportunity to order from the Gold Lounge’s menu, to have it served in the Bubble Lounge as I had my dog in tow. The Bubble Lounge is a cozy and very beautifully decorated bar/restaurant, I visited most evenings for dinner or some drinks and was introduced to Dorset’s Bacchus wine which was wonderful. The whole hotel was so welcoming by the staff and the customers alike. Everyone was friendly, helpful and the clientele were always friendly too, I had many a conversation with visitors like myself to the hotel of an evening. The small terrace was great in an evening or to watch the eclipse as I did along with others on my stay. A further larger garden area with pool table is also a great spot. The Hotel Collingwood’s location is fantastic too, it is close to amenities and the seafront with bars and restaurants close by. Along with many walking routes into Poole, Zigzag, Sandbanks or bus routes whichever suits and there is a very handy taxi service app in Bournemouth which is also pet friendly. Myself and my dog had a wonderful time staying in Hotel Collingwood, I will definitely be back to stay again. I had a wonderful holiday in Bournemouth and hotel stay. I look forward to my visit next time so I can use the spa and pool facilities. Thank you all for a splendid weekend.
No complaints here, it was the best hotel experience I’ve had.
Everything was amazing, made welcome by all the lovely staff, service and food in dining areas were exemplary.Great choices.
Nothing could habe improved even the weather was gorgeous
Very comfortable room, bathroom and very good breakfast. Breakfast and bar staff particularly friendly, efficient and attentive. Excellent location not far from the pier and beaches (convenient funicular available). Very useful bus stop virtually outside the hotel with a direct bus to/from the railway station (no. 50 Purbeck Breezer) - which also went via Studland to Swanage (with excellent fish'n chip shops). Hotel recommends Kool Cycles close to the hotel with helpful owner. Hotel provided unlimited bottled water for a mere £2.50.
Hotel pool was overrun by children playing.
