Pros:

Location in a lively neighborhood, bathroom large, good breakfast

Cons:

The hotel needs urgent renewal. Also our room was noisy, the street running by has traffic throughout the night.

poor communication about service limitation
Cons:

During our stay at the hotel, we discovered that there was an ongoing strike. During check-in, the receptionist only mentioned that the hotel restaurant was closed, while all other services were supposedly operating as usual. In the elevator, there was a notice about the strike with the vague statement: “some of our hotel services may be adjusted accordingly.” Right next to it, there was another sign saying “we are happy to clean your room” along with a QR code linking to a page where room cleaning could be requested. In our room, there were also cards explaining how to request fresh towels and the same QR code for booking room cleaning. Nowhere was it stated that these services were actually unavailable (I have attached photos and screenshots showing the information provided by the hotel). After two days, following the instructions on the card and QR code displayed in both the room and the elevator, I requested room cleaning through the website - which, of course, never happened. When I went to the reception desk to ask about it, the receptionist seemed annoyed that I was even asking and only then informed me that due to the strike, the service was unavailable. Reluctantly, she handed us a set of clean towels. Had I not asked, I doubt the towels would have been replaced at all during our four-day stay, let alone the room cleaned. The hotel gym was also closed.

I fully understand and respect the workers’ strike, but guests should be clearly informed before arrival and certainly at check-in about which services are unavailable. Unfortunately, this information was never properly communicated. When booking a hotel, guests expect not only a room, but also the services that normally come with it, such as housekeeping, towel and linen changes, access to the gym, or the hotel restaurant. Customers should be informed in advance about any significant limitations so they can make an informed decision.

Oslo war eine Reise wert und wir würden auch wieder hier übernachten
Pros:

Das Frühstück war absolute Spitze. Die Lage war auch top (3 Haltestellen bis zum Bahnhof, 2 bis zum Knotenpunkt Storgate.

Cons:

Ist durch den landesweiten Streik schwer zu sagen. Zimmer sind in die Jahre gekommen.

Great neighbourhood; great night's sleep
Pros:

We slept well. The bed was comfortable and the soundproofing was good: our room was above a main road but we could barely hear it, and we could not hear other guests.
The room was clean and well-equipped with enough storage for two people for a few nights.
We were allowed a late check out, which we really appreciated. The staff were friendly and efficient.
The location was in a great neighbourhood and it was easy to get to the city centre. We would stay again.

Cons:

We requested a clean after our second night and it did not happen. We understand there was a city-wide strike of hospitality workers in Oslo, but if the service could not be provided, this should be communicated clearly and perhaps a gesture of goodwill offered.

Good Option a Little out of the City Centre, with excellent Neighbourhood Restaurants
Pros:

The entire front desk team was really efficient and welcoming. We particulalry enjoyed the entrance bar and lounge area - it had a very comfortable energy - and loved the light breakfast-to-go offerings. The room was somewhat basic, with few touches of elegance or softness. However, we spent little time there. The neighourhood was exciting with good places to eat and the main city area a quick bus ride, and in our case, a fairly easy walk.
