Update to My Review of the Gulf Hotel Bahrain:
I would like to sincerely apologize for the tone of my earlier review. After sharing my feedback, I was truly moved by the genuine and thoughtful response from the hotel’s leadership. The General Manager, Room Director, Restaurant Director, and other senior staff all personally showed great concern and went out of their way to ensure my final day at the hotel was a memorable and positive experience.
Their attentiveness, professionalism, and sincere apologies demonstrated a strong commitment to guest satisfaction. I genuinely appreciate their efforts and would like to thank the entire team for their warm hospitality and dedication to making things right.
I had heard a few negative things about this hotel and even my taxi driver from the airport rolled his eyes when I told him where I was going. The service was mostly very nice and even though the common areas in the hotel are a bit dated and kitsch, the rooms we're actually really quite pleasant. My room was large and very clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable as well. The nightclub downstairs can be very noisy and revelers returning to their rooms could be very drunken and noisy in the middle of the night. The only thing that was ridiculously old was the thermostat in the room - it wasn't even digital! I did like the pool at the property! Room service menu promised a spaghetti bolognese that was full of vegetables and packed with flavour. It was thick, brown sludge that smelt like rotting meat and no vegetables in sight. When I asked for a refund, there was a bit of a drama but I eventually got my refund. Avoid the bolognese! Everything else from room service was quite nice.
The hotel was luxus maybe 25 years ago but not any more. It needs renovating. We probably did not get the room we had ordered and were placed originally to a smoking room even though not ordered so. The room was ok but the bathroom was a disaster. The main problem was its structure - there was nothing practical. No place where to put your things, very unsuccesfull (two) hooks, no plug in hand basin, hot and cold water taps separately, toilet half broken. The worst was the shower tray - maybe 80x80 cm and all the water makes half of the bathroom wet. There was no cleaning every day even though supposed. Towels has to be requested several times. Breakfast room was too cold with strong air condition. And whose idea it has been to place a nightclub in the hotel?!? The noice was strong until 2 am. Location ok.
Very friendly staff who provided great service. Nice swimming pool, breakfast buffet was standard. Music from the hotel club could be heard in our room to late in the night, but we were not that bothered by it. The hotel needs renovation but overall was good value for the money. Great parking and walking distance to the local marked and financial district
Terrible hotel, would not recommend staying and I will be putting in a complaint.
Room was ok, quite dated and a lot of damage around but size ok.
Big issues were noise. There are at least two bars/clubs attached to the hotel, and the noise goes on extremely loud until around 4am. So loud you can hear through ear plugs!
Was then woken up at 6.30am to hammering, and whilst out by the pool, which is probably the best part of the hotel, had workers walking past doing renovations in the hotel. Stayed there during the F1 week, which must be a busy week for all hotels in this area, so not sure why works needed to happen this week seeing as a lot of people around!
Another big issue was the WiFi.. think we only had it working for about 3 hours in total across a 5 night stay.
There was a tp link box in our room that had an orange light majority of the time and did not get fixed, even after mentioning to staff a few times.
Also think this hotel/the bars may be brothel/knocking shop. A lot of women in little clothes coming in and single men walking around. Didn’t necessarily feel very safe there!
Don’t think this should be being sold to stay in purely for the noise issues!
El aire acondicionado en el restaurante para el desayuno estaba
Fantastic hotel, staff are amazing and very welcoming and friendly. Special thanks to Menaka the receptionist who was very supportive and helpful throughout our stay and also kudos to Abu Thomas from the Breakfast supervisor in the morning restaurant. Would love to be back to the hotel if I’m in Bahrain.
Old property that needs renovation. A very negative issue that at night I received calls from ladies offering massages.
Great friendly staff. Comfortable room. Nice bed. Superb location across the road from the souk and the bus station
I didn't mind the vintage style decor.
The room was a bit smelly and very outdated but not a problem.
Location was very good. Staff were nice.
The pool walls were slimy which was pretty gross.
The bars downstairs are full of escorts. Maybe that is everywhere in Bahrain and I didn't get the memo in advance but it was a creepy vibe of foreign girls on display and old men sat around them. No photos allowed..
nice hotel
Great place, good location.
Amazing hotel to stay
Loud noise from a nearby nightclub all night, very old hotel with questionable cleanliness, extremely uncomfortable hard bed
Personnel très sympathique et accueillant
Chambre très vétuste, un rafraîchissement complet serait nécessaire
The room was fine - could do with a bit of refining here and there, since it's starting to be a bit old.
The water from the bathtub/standing shower was leaking all over the floor, making it very slippery. Wouldn't even dry over night from a night time shower until next morning.
The people in the reception was extremely nice, as was the parking manager outside, for the very limited parking spots. But it all worked out for the days that I was there.
The music from the clubs/restaurants is extremely loud, and goes well past midnight. So if you plan an early sleep, this is not the place to stay. But the beds are very comfortable, and you can make the room totally dark with the curtains, so that is a plus as well.
Hotel is easy to find, and well located when arriving by car.
Would definately go there again, if i'm back in the country
