Pros:

The West End location is really close to the Haymarket train station (about a 10 minute walk) and not too far from the Edinburgh castle and the royal mile if you don't mind the walk (20-30 minutes depending on the route you take). The room was very clean and organized and we liked how there was an in room dishwasher and washing machine.

Cons:

Beds were a little rough and it felt like two beds were put together to make a bigger bed which made it a little uncomfortable for me and my husband. The fans that were provided worked but it still got rather warm in the room, especially during the night. The only other complaint we have was the provided in-room washer/dryer smelled like it hadn't been cleaned after use by the guest before us and smelled like mold/mildew.

Die Unterkunft ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, hier müsste mal etwas Geld in die Hand genommen werden

Very good but with high improvement margin
Pros:

Good overall evaluation. Comfortable location and nice neighborhood with services and connections (airlink stop 10min, bus stop 2min, groceries 3min, pub 6min, city center 20min)

Cons:

Some small details: windows broken/ not opening; bathroom ventilation not working, table too small in the living room, sofa/bed weird with inner hole between the beds, lighting to be improved in the bathroom.
