Just a great family fun place! It’s near the beach! They have a sweet pool, pool tables, bar, restaurant and best part is super nice staff!
almost three days without internet. bathroom shower handles are about to fall down. Most of stuffs are old and not functional . Breakfast is extremely limited
First of all let me start with i absolutely LOVE Costa Rica however, this was my first time staying in Coco in this hotel and I was severely bitten by bed bugs during my stay over Thanksgiving. It took me this long to make a review because I was trying to handle this behind the scenes and I even asked them to simply check my room 38 and grant me a refund for the miserable experience.
The hotel refused to acknowledge or honor a refund despite me telling the front desk at check out as well as having Priceline reach out on my behalf. I stayed in room #38 on Thursday November 27th-29th. The front desk guy told me I was bitten by mosquitoes however, being a nurse, I knew for certain these were not mosquito bites! I had the classic "breakfast, lunch and dinner" pattern bites only on my right side on which I sleep. I was bitten on my arm, finger, torso, and buttocks. The bites turned into cellulitis and landed me in urgent care for treatment as well as a month later the scars are still on my arms.
I'm super disappointed at how this was handled and although I love CR I will never be staying here again and encourage anyone staying to be aware that you may leave with bedbugs, specially room 38.
As a brand this should have been handled differently and acknowledged as a urgent situation.
I would absolutely recommend The Palms at Coco Beach, and would not hesitate to return there if we ever go back to Coco. The level of service we received from every staff member was beyond and above what we were expecting for a 3-star hotel, and its location is unmatched with a 1-min walk to the beach, and direct access to the main restaurant/shopping strip.
Highlights included the best air conditioning we had access to our whole trip to Costa Rica (a must when you come from a Northern country), best Internet, and a very relaxing pool area. The hotel was conspicuously clean at all times, and sheets were changed every couple of days. The on-site restaurant is good and decently priced.
Things that I would keep in mind:
- I expect that the hotel can be a bit noisy at peak times; sound echoes quite a bit from the hallways, and its close proximity to other hotels, main road and soccer field means that a lot of outside noise gets in too;
- Hot water appears to be tied to solar panels, which means any shower after sundown will be quite cold
I will also note that the beach was mostly deserted the whole time we were there, so it's an excellent choice if one prefers to be away from the more polisged tourist crowds at Tamarindo.
Great hotel in coco. The room was clean and well stocked. They have a convenience store in the lobby to buy anything you need. On site is a restaurant and bar. The pool is amazing and clean. You can literally stay at the resort and cover all the bases. Parking is just outside the facility and is free. A short walk (<2 mins) from the hotel you are in the main city for bars and fun, also the beach. The staff here is multilingual and very friendly. I highly recommend staying here. I know I’ll be back
I liked how close it was to the Main Street but still quiet. Also close to the beach.
Staff are great!!! Owners are great! Second time here on this trip. Food, bar, and convenience store next door are all great too. Very convenient location to walk around and easy to book.
The location is very good and close to the beach.
The property needs to remodeled, bathroom and sink is very small.
The staff was awesome. Plenty of good around as well as souvenirs. The chicken at the brewery is phenomenal.
Great location !
Great location, right by the beach. Friendly staff. The pool was nice to cool off. There is a poolside restaurant (fairly priced and the food except the sushi was good) and they had different activities like bingo, trivia games, open mike and live music in the evenings, which was a nice touch when we got in from our other activities and outings for the day or didn't want to venture out as it was so hot!
Perfect
Luis was great so does the rest of the staff. Room was clean . However
great
Their promotional photo shows a beach scene and adversities “only steps from the beach.” Our room was not on the beach, not steps away. We were about a block from the beach and had to cross a street to get to it. Our room was small, crowded and on a busy, noisy street - only about 4’ from the window to street. The doors to rooms had skull and crossbones carved into them. We checked out after one night (got in too late to look for another room). Found a spacious, clean room for about same price on the beach the next morning - Cafe de Playa. The Palms refused to refund our payment made through Expedia.
We stayed here for the final night of our trip. It was relatively cheap and because of the price and excellent location, just a minute from the beach, I would recommend this for the budget conscious traveller. It is old and needs a fresh coat of paint in the rooms and some updates to the furniture. The rooms are also tiny. However, there is a pool that we enjoyed cooling off in.
We were the most concerned about bugs getting into our room at this hotel because of the cloths covering the shower and sink drains and the age of the building. However, the room was sparkling clean and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony. We could also hear the music from the bar and people talking in the hall, but everything quieted down around 9pm.
Breakfast is included and there are a handful of options. The gallo Pinto was good, but not the best we had at a hotel during the trip. Even though breakfast doesn't start until 7 am, the staff put out coffee and water for guests at approx 5am. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room was even ready two hours before check in, though I don't know if that would be the case during high season.
This hotel benefits from its low price and great location and for those reasons I would recommend it.
Everything was excellent except for the raccoon ruckus’s in the ceiling
Had a nice stay. Thank you!
Las camareras me
robaron un vestido y una blusa con valor aproximado de 100 Dlls, el lugar no es enfrente de la playa,
es a media cuadra de la playa.
Los cuartos son pequeños y muy cercanos el uno del otro.
This is my second time to stay at this hotel. It is a great location. The staff is friendly, the food is good and the swimming pool is amazing.
