Abbey Hotel was very welcoming. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms were spotless and cosy with everything you needed. Will definitely be back to stay.
Everything was perfect
Very central location with a good view of the diamond
Reception area very dark
excellent location, lovely friendly staff would definitely be back
The photos in the adverts (but they’re nothing like the actual hotel)
The standard double room looked like a prison cell. No colour, no soft furnishings, no furniture (apart from a bed and coffee table), no TV and no view. No shelf, cupboard or anywhere to put anything in the bathroom, simply a loo, small washbasin and shower. Staff said this was typical of a ‘standard’ double room, the hotel was only 3 stars!
Breakfast....location and staff all excellent 👌
No air con in the room...and the time we stayed it was very hot out...
It was all very nice. Good location in centre of the town.
Bar and lobby can be quite busy.
Could be more selection for breakfast.
The staff were excellent. The evening entertainment was excellent, and I appreciated the location. The price met my expectations, and it was a decent hotel for a one night stay.
The hotel was nice, but the rooms were very dated. It is in dire need of an upgrade. It is not a place I would bring my spouse. The hotel was clean, the staff was wonderful, but I couldn't get past the dated furniture and accommodations. The food was okay in the restaurant, but nothing to praise about.
Good location.. comfortable rooms
Food.. awfully over priced… No roast potatoes 🥔 with a roast dinner in Ireland…. We were told new headchef had started and doesn’t serve roast potatoes with roast dinners… well that’s the first time in my life I’ve ever heard such nonsense….
Clean and centrally located
No aircon and radiator was on in the room during a rare heatwave in Ireland
Staff were accommodating to us with early check in
Room was very basic, shower wasn't great pressure was up and down one minute it was warm and very low next it went cold and full power
It was grand clean and comfortable
I really liked the lady at reception she took our bags doubled check we were parked appropriately and got change for us. Sorted out a room for me near a lift as I was on a crutch. And enquires where we had eaten at and when we said if our experience she was surprised as we were about it being so bad.
The bar staff were excellent servicing the tables with an unseen enthusiasm any other place we had stayed in or visited on our mini break away.
Only thing I would say was that the loos downstairs were closed but they were not cleaned properly. Whoever’s cleaning them needs to be shown how to use a loo brush. I went to go into each loo and each one was dirty it was about mid day mid week when I went into them so it wasn’t as if it was at night and place full.
Central location, very good food
Room was on 3rd floor , the heat was awful in the room had window open completely made no difference. Didn't sleep well as a result of heat and stuffiness of room
Localização central, sem ser afetada pelo burburinho da praça, quarto confortável e staff muito simpático.
Quarto um pouco pequeno, porém confortável.
Our room was large and clean and the hotel is in a great location directly on the Diamond in Donegal Town. Walkable to everywhere. We had a nice stay!
The only thing is that although it was lovely that our room faced the Diamond, the bus stop was directly below our window which was very loud in the early morning.
