Marae Premium Cabins

The owner and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is very comfortable, spacious and cozy!

We were greeted at the airport with leis then driven to the property. When we arrived Marae, the proprietor, sat down with us and explained about the island, told us where things were and booked tours, a show and car rental. Later when we checked the agencies, etc we found that she had booked us in reputable businesses all without the hassle of us having to do it.
The property has three cabins in a lovely garden. There is a well maintained barbecue and sitting area. The is also a playground for young children. The cabins are a bit dated but have fully appointed kitchens including a blender to make tropical smoothies. Wifi didn’t quite reach our cabin, but did reach the other two cabins. Beach towels and chairs were provided.
One day when we had no water, we phoned and Marae came immediately to sort the problem.
Town centre is a 15 minute walk. Lots of restaurants in the area pick you up so walking in the dark is not a problem. Also taxis are available.
The cabins are not your North American chain hotel but are quaint.
The property had three chickens in the yard to add to the character.

We stayed here for 2 nights on our quick trip to Easter Island. We were picked up from the airport with flowers, which was a very nice touch (although we easily could have walked to the cabins given how small the town is). The manager helped us organise things during our visit and even drove us into town to get our rental car. The private cabin was clean and comfortable and well stocked. Highly recommended!

WiFi was not good at our cabin, have to go to the office to have WiFi.
Mosquito screens on windows are not good, should replace those specially during summer months. We got mosquito bites during our stay in first haft of March

Fabulous place to stay on Easter island - nothing was too much to ask from CVero who was a fantastic host.

We stay at Marae during our 4 days visit to Easter Island. Maka was great and responsive from the beginning till the end. When we arrived she patiently explained everything and answered all our questions. The location is convenient - within walking distance to the airport and a short drive to the main streets and shops. The cabin is spacious and has a small kitchen. We bought groceries and cooked most of our meals as the restaurants can be quite expensive. If you are planning to visit E.I, I highly recommend staying at Marae and renting a car. The island is small and easy to navigate.

The best thing about Marae cabins is the staff. They are helpful and go the extra mile to help you with arriving and getting set up for self catering. The cabins are not air conditioned which may be a problem for some. Otherwise clean and functional. You can get enhanced (they do the washing-up) house keeping for an extra fee. Buy the guide book!!

I stayed at Marae for 2 nights on my trip to Easter Island - the property is very close to the airport (~5min walk) and conveniently located in Hanga Roa to shops and restaurants. The room was very spacious and comfortable to stay in. What made my stay especially enjoyable was the staff - the owner was incredibly warm and helpful in recommending things to do and places to eat. I would highly recommend this place to stay on Easter Island!

The cabins are spacious and comfortable. Above all, I loved the hospitality and friendliness. We also appreciated the pick up from/to the airport.

Clean and well equipped cabins on Easter Island. Close to the airport and a short walk into town. Wonderful welcome by friendly staff who are there to help make your stay special and are happy to organise trips and activities. They were so friendly and helpful. A great place to stay.

Our cabin had a large kitchen and dining area. There is also a social area with a large, well maintained charcoal grill. Our cabin was clean and well equipped. The location is convenient and within walking distance of the main street for dining and shopping. The staff was very attentive and helpful.

Well maintained, clean cabins, equipped with full kitchen, offer comfort and privacy. Ideal for families and couples. Quick and convenient laundry service. Free parking. Very good location: minutes from airport and main street. The owner, Veronica, is wonderful! She helped with everything, from recommending and reserving tables at local restaurants for dinner, to ordering taxis, to locating a rental car with automatic transmission (most cars on the island have manual transmission), to booking an island tour with an agency and so on. She is very sweet, caring and knowledgeable. We felt like we were staying at a friend's house rather than a hotel. If we decide to visit the Easter Island again we will stay only at Marae!

Really clean and comfortable, located close to the airport and town. The owners were fantastic and really were concerned that we were comfortable. You could rent a vehicle right there and have tours arranged. Looking forward to our next visit and will intend on staying there. It would suit families or groups as you could cook all or just some meals if you wish in a well equipped and super clean kitchen.

Great private cabin very close to the airport (easy walking distance really, despite the free shuttle) and close to the main street (< 10 minute walk). Veronica was extremely nice and helpful, providing a lot of information about tours, sights and amenities. She even drove us to the start of the Orongo hiking trail one morning. The cabins are immaculately kept, with a full equipped kitchen and are very comfortable. The best hotel we stayed at on our tour of South America.

As you will discover upon arrival, this hotel has a relationship with Aku Aku Tours so you will be given info mostly about what they offer. But rest assured, their tours are very good and their guides great. Just be sure to ask in advance if the tour itinerary has changed. The caves were inaccessible to buses when we went but didn't find out about it until we were already on the tour and had no time left to go visit them on our own.

Absolutely loved our stay at Marae. Vero was wonderful at giving us advice on touring the island and the cabins were beautiful. The cabins are a 5-10 minute walk to town and are very safe and secure. The cabins were clean and had everything we could ever want. The cabins are very new and well maintained. I would definitely stay here again if I were to return to Easter Island.
