Lovely setting ,hotel needs upgrade on rooms
Pros:

Location great lovely outlook,breakfast ok varied menu

Cons:

Room very tired needs updating,room not cleaned to a high standard cobwebs on walls and around picture frames.
Staff over the weekend needed a shake up
with the exception of Zee and james who were excellent.

Lovely hotel, restaurant needs huge improvement.
Pros:

The hotel was lovely,breakfast was brilliant. The room was very nice comfortable bed,lovely sea view.

Cons:

Our first evening meal was appalling! The beef was tough,the vegetables hard as rock, the dessert felt as is it had been standing stale for ages, the ice cream had a consistency of chewing gum! After complaining politely and requesting a discount, we still had to pay £50! The waiter said he would notify the chef, no alternative was offered, we felt fobbed off not attended to in a satisfactory manner. Would not eat here apart form the cooked breakfast which was good.

a pleasant short stay in Torquay.
Pros:

The location is very peaceful and calm. The building is very beautiful looking and we particularly enjoyed the restaurant area for breakfast, which was nicely decorated and light. The parking was very convenient in the grounds of the hotel.

Cons:

the communal areas did not feel particularly welcoming and were usually empty. The breakfast staff member who served us, had forgotten us from the morning before, which surprised us. Maybe the hotel was busier than it appeared? our room, which was one of the cheapest, was adequate, but seemed little better than a budget hotel room. Generally, the whole feel of the hotel was a little bit of a let down to what we were expecting.

Pros:

Loverly big room,Good food both for dinner and, I something I particularly like is to be served an excellent breakfast at the table and not have get it buffet style. Grounds are beatiful and with a fantastic view of the sea and the bay
