The room (Double Room With Eiger View) was spacious, well equipped, warm, and comfortable with a stunning view of the Eiger mountain. The outdoor heated (hot, not only warm!) pool was a highlight, and the saunas and steam rooms were pleasant and very clean. Breakfast and dinner were varied, tasty, and of excellent quality - particular dinner. The extra hour for late check-out was appreciated, as we could use the pool and spa area on departure morning/afternoon. We also appreciated the restaurant manager assigning us the same window table for dinner on two consecutive nights - thank you!
The bathroom was a little of the small side, although well-equipped, clean, with good toiletries provided. The time from ordering to receiving dinner was lengthy (approx. 45mins), however the service was attentive and most of the waiters/waitresses were friendly and accommodating.
We stayed for a week with adult family between Christmas and New year in 2025/26. We had a lovely time, there was no snow in the town but the mountains had plenty of snow on enough runs to fill a 3 day ski pass for an experienced skier. The Town is essentially just one road with the train station at one end and Grindelwald First lift at the other end. The Spinne is slap bang in the middle of town and therefore very close and a very short walk to everything you could imagine and want. The train and bus service is very easy to use as is the mountain train up onto the Jungfrau mountain range. We booked bed and Breakfast and you should budget for approx 70CHF per person for an evening meal out or in the restaurant. We tried all of the 4* and above rated restaurants in the town of which the hotel's is one of them and they were all very good. All offering different types of cuisine, I can recommend them all. It was also great to see so many dogs in the town and on the mountains being taken around by their owners on leads which was great for dog lovers like us. I would conclude by saying that there is plenty to do in the town along with the skiing for a week and the Spinne is the perfect base. The hotel staff were amazing and couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating.
Nice swimming pool, beautiful scenery. Close to shop cable car (Grindelwald first) and restaurant
While visiting The JUNGFRAU region, I didn’t know where to stay… Grindelwald, WENGEN, MURREN or LAUTERBRUNNEN. I decided on Grindelwald and I’m really glad that I did. It’s convenient to everything we wanted to see… You can get to SCHILTHORN, all the other towns and JUNGFRAUJOCH within two hours. The town itself is cute. Make sure you don’t stay by Grindelwald terminal. Make sure you stay by Grindelwald BAHNhoff. It’s much cuter. Nothing around terminal. This hotel was so convenient and the lady at the front desk was wonderful. We got a cute little room, which was the cheapest room possible with the king or two twin beds pushed together. We had views of the spectacular mountain from not only our windows, but our balcony as well. it is literally right next-door to a restaurant that has great pizza and salads. The breakfast is outstanding… Order a custom omelette every day. The restaurant has views of the mountain as well. Is truly spectacular. We will definitely be back and would stay at the same hotel again. It’s only about 5 to 7 minute walk from the train station. Lots of shopping in the area as well. The best part that was the convenience to the train station, which will take you all over the region. We were only there for two full days and saw everything and more
Great property, great spa, beautiful views
Sweet hotel with beautiful views of the mountain and an amazing spa/ pool that we used every night.
We loved our 6 night stay at the Hotel Spinne, the first week orf September. Great, friendly staff, nice breakfast and awesome outdoor dining. Our room had a nice balcony with a great view of the Eiger that we used every day to enjoy local wine and cheese, after each very full day of adventure. The location is great. 5 minutes from the train, a bus stop right outside the door a Migros market across the street and Grindelwald First a short walk. The warm outdoor infinity pool overlooking the mountains was fantastic. We highly recommend the Hotel Spinne and are looking forward to returning in the winter to enjoy some skiing.
The infinity pool was amazing as were the staff. I had booked the single room but it was still very very spacious and had a great view.
Gorgeous views of the Eigor alongside views of the emerald green hills and peaceful Swiss lifestyle. Great zero edge pool facing this view enables endless hours of relaxation.
Great stay all around at Hotel Spinne! Perfect central location, friendly staff, great breakfast and alpine wellness center. Book it!
2 night stay. Balcony room Eiger facing. Large and comfortable. Unfortunately we arrived at end of a heat wave so didn't see much of the mountain.
Restaurant was disappointing for dinner as devoid of atmosphere and very quiet. Most people seem to eat elsewhere. However breakfast was very nice with good choice and staff on hand for fresh omelettes.
Bar we never used as soon as we opened door the strong smell of smoke is very of putting. Went across the road to much nicer surroundings.
Allocated car parking is a few hundred meters away up a narrow road to another hotels car park, although loading and unloading available at the door.
Leisure facility we only used the once briefly due to time but seemed nice although a no costume sauna may put off some, although not policed.
Great hotel. Will be back.
The staff was very helpful. They let us drop our luggage off early. I thought the price was high for the size of the room.
It was in a good location close to shopping and the train station. The breakfast was delicious. They have a fly problem. There were flies inside when you ate breakfast and in the rooms.
We chose hotel Spinne due to the location, price, good reviews and the pool.
The good:
Location- location is great. You’re very close to everything. The bus stop is right outside the hotel and train station is a 5-10 minute walk.
View- the view of the Eiger is probably the best thing about the hotel, aside from the location.
Breakfast - breakfast was included in the price we paid but we opted not to do the half board option since we were using this hotel as a jumping off point for a lot of day trips. Breakfast was good and they were accommodating of my daughter’s food allergies.
Very near some nice restaurants and the putt-putt course is right next door which was great.
The BAD:
MOLD. Our hotel room was under the pool and it was clearly leaking into our room. Not only was there is visible mold, but pieces of paint from the ceiling were falling from that moldy area onto the floor as well. They acted surprised at the front desk and did move us, but they moved someone else into our old room later that day. Also the new room had a lot of mold too but they’d done better at paining most of it.
The room: aside from the mold, which is a big issue, the rooms are very dated and felt like a motel rather than a 4 star hotel as it’s rated.
The pool and spa: nice view, beautiful architecture, but it’s definitely aging. I’d NOT recommend this for kids. Although kids are permitted to use it, it is meant more for adults to use after a long hike and not really a kid-friendly pool. Which is fine, except we brought kids and didn’t know ahead of time. Some of the saunas were also not working.
We stayed for 6 nights which was way too long for a hotel and pool not really suited for kids. I’d personally do not recommend this hotel based on the repairs it needed, but especially not for young families.
great location and great spa! highly recommend. only issue was hen staying on the 300s rooms, there was some loud construction or something going on nearby
Great property that we would recommend to anyone!
I absolutely loved this place. The amenities, spa and dining were great.
Nice room and fantastic pool.
This was a wonderful stay in Grindelwald. The hotel is located a short walking distance from the train station. It is very centrally located for easy access to all of the attractions and restaurants in Grindelwald. The view of the mountains outside our room was stunning. The beds were very comfortable and the room was very spacious. Guests have access to the hotel spa which includes a hot tub, sauna and an infinity pool. Finally, breakfast is included and is very well done with a large variety of foods and beverages.
Excellent if you choose a room with Eiger view. Also, very good breakfast, and Italian foods if you dine in the night. Anyway, it will not disappoint you.
