Hotel Torre Guelfa

Stayed here when my wife and I were married in Firenze 25 years ago and came back to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We informed the hotel about this and asked if we could stay in the same room as back then. Also emailed the hotel several times with questions about the tower bar and they completely ignored all emails. When we arrived, they had taken no notice whatsoever of our situation and not only ignored the occasion completely, but gave us the darkest hotel room we have ever stayed in.

We loved the hotel for so many reasons. The location is excellent, the building is so interesting, all the staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was delicious and plentiful and the roof terrace is fabulous. We highly recommend it as THE place to stay in Florence!

Loved the location, the rooftop views and the breakfast. 10/10 for those for sure. The breakfast attendant was so amazing- she remembered what we ordered and was a very bright light each morning.
Our room, 309, was a bit dark and had no mirror. There was a mirror in the bathroom of course. Ironically there were so many mirrors everywhere but none in our room.
We were able to even walk to the train station which was very easy and doable. Beautiful location. Would recommend.

Breakfast was amazing and staff were friendly! The best part was the viewing tower at the top with views of the whole city.

This hotel was beautiful, hands down one of our favourites of the trip! The highlight if this hotel has to be the bell tower! With a terrace and bell tower serving drinks in the evening with panoramic views of Florence you can’t go wrong! The staff were polite and welcoming ensuring we had directions for our time in Florence. The hotel had period features which added to its character. The room we stayed in had high ceilings and four post bed and had a separate room with a sofa lounge area and a bathroom. The room was spotless and quiet in the evenings. Breakfast was lovely the pastry options were different everyday and were fresh. They also had a continental option. We will definitely be returning.

I stayed in room 315 that has its own large roof terrace. The only problem is that the staircase to the bedroom is extremely steep and narrow. Definitely not suitable for anyone with mobility problems. The decor is charmingly eccentric. My room came with a complimentary copy of a novel written by the owner . The breakfasts are excellent. A perfect location. Charming staff. Definitely worth the experience.

Excelente location

I came here and stayed for my trip to Florence. Location is great as it’s in the middle of a tourist paradise. Everything is very walkable and it’s in a lovely historic building. The hotel is incredibly spotless, my room was super clean which made me feel very good. The rooms inside are older and has much of a vintage charm. Some may think this is darling, if you are into modern this isn’t for you. I had issue with the air as Florence is incredibly hot in September and there is no air through out the hotel or your room. My room on my first night was so bad that they couldn’t move me and offered a 5 foot fan which was nice. I switched rooms the next day (334 is a great room) and then back to another room which was a pain to move 3 times but it was nice they are accommodating. The water also doesn’t drain well in the rooms from the sink and shower. Secondly the eating area is lovely with a plentiful breakfast however be aware there is no air and it’s a bit warm up there while eating. The rooftop is amazing and allows you see the entire city from there. It’s cozy, quiet and magical. Overall it was a decent stay, the hotel staff will be memorable for me but I would stay some place more modern and ac comfy.

Loved the bar at the top of the tower for evening drinks. Wonderful view in the heart of town.

Clean and within reasonable walking distance

The location «saves» this rewiew as well as the politeness and service of the staff. The room was very worn with old windows and doors. The cleanining was below satisfaction, but huge plus for changing linnens. The top terrace is nice but the cairs are only metal thus very uncomfortable. Breakfast was good and the staff there were great.

Location, location, location!

Outstanding lovely place however it cost me 35 euros for parking

Everything including location, service, staff, breakfast buffet, and the room was excellent! The wine on the rooftop (tower) with the sunset view of Florence was beyond our expectations!

What a beautiful hotel! The tower was a highlight for us with the amazing views of Florence. Lovely staff, the room was fantastic (very high ceiling!), great breakfast and superb location - we would return in a heartbeat!

Big rooms and convenient location. We were so happy to have a family room which was a large two bedroom suite with bathroom. Each of the rooms were large and comfortable. The hotel includes breakfast and offers recommendations for other meals. We enjoyed our stay, and the price was good for what was offered. Everything was a little old fashioned but clean and in working order
