A pleasant old hotel next to a golf course, with a good restaurant.
1. The bed was comfy
We stayed in the Blenheim suite:
1. There was no lock on the bathroom door which was strange
2. We were told that the night porter would let us into the outside gate but we had to wait five minutes and just luckily another car was coming out (maybe a card pass is needed to sort that)
Great dinner with friendly staff
Nothing
Vintage style looking views in the morning looking at golf course while eating breakfast
Could be a lovely location
Old, independent and needs to increase its condition. Staying in hotels all week is a way of life avd not a treat, we need basics done well
With the exception of the waitress who served me at dinner the staff were friendly, efficient and obliging. A comfortable bed and clean rooms. The breakfast was delicious and there was a good choice. Fresh fruit, plain yogurt, cereals, toast and croissants plus a variety of cooked.
The hotel was cold and it became clear that there was a plumbing issue. I had to change rooms as I had no water and I was downgraded as the hotel was full. In the morning I then discovered I had no hot water. The staff did their best so I ended up with a luke warm shower.
I was rudely awakened at 00.30 by a door continuously slamming. It transpired that the function room was being cleared after a party and the staff did not consider the impact on me trying to sleep in Broadlands. It went on for about an hour.
Dinner was disappointing, i had one small piece of white fish and adequate salmon in my fish pie. The sauce tasted like a packet sauce and the potato as if it was reconstituted. The website promises fresh ingredients.
In view of the above reception deducted the cost of dinner and breakfast from my bill but I will never return.
The appearance of the manor and the grounds, the staff for very friendly and accomadating
Nothing
Room was fantastic for me and my dog. Doggy bed and bowls provided. Lots of doggy treats given throughout our stay.
