Lovely big room, really helpful staff. comfy bed.
A fine historic country house, in a lovely quiet location surrounded by parkland, now used as a golf course. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful, and the place is spotless. The business is clearly aimed at the lucrative wedding trade, but midweek at least, we got very good room rates. Our Executive room was a good size and had a very comfortable bed. Good size bathroom with excellent amenities.
We were there during a heatwave, and, although a fan was provided, our room was incredibly stuffy. Otherwise we had only minor niggles - breakfast pricing (not included in our room rate) was a bit obscure, and we’d have liked a better offering of fresh fruit. Breakfast service was erratic on one of the three days we stayed, but we think this was due to a staffing problem and the other days were fine.

Die Lage des Hotels ist super. Mitten in einem Golfplatz, sehr grün und ruhig. Das Personal ist wahnsinnig nett und sehr aufmerksam. Unser Zimmer inkl. Bad war sehr gross – bequemes Bett. Wir hatten uneren Hund dabei und hier erwartete uns eine Hundedecke, Napf und Hundebisquits als Überraschung. Die Angestellten sind sehr hundefreundlich - man kann seinen Vierbeiner in die Bar mitnehmen, ins Restaurant darf er nicht rein, was für uns aber absolut kein Problem darstellt. Wir würden wieder hier übernachten (waren auf der Durchreise). Man kann zudem unkompliziert draussen sitzen und noch die Abendsonne mit einem Drink geniessen.
Ein kleines Highlight: Wir durften uns das angrenzende kleine Dorf ansehen, was aussergewöhnlich schon renoviert ist. Wunderschön – auch die Landschaft dort.
Das Hotel ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen und verfügt über einen historischen Schick (was an sich nicht negativ ist).Es ist an sich sauber, aber schaut man näher hin, sieht man doch die eine oder andere Spinnenwebe oder abplatzende Farbe. Unser Zimmer war sehr gross, auch das Bad. Das Zimmer war an sich mit einem fleischgrauen Teppich ausgestattet, der sicherlich schon einiges erlebt hat, Für Allergiker sicher ein Challenge. Was aber wirklich schlecht war, war das Essen. Das Fleisch war durchschnitt in der Qualität (Steak Souvide) und das Blumenkohl-Steak (für 20 GBP!!!) war schlecht. Man kann konnte nur einen Teil essen, der Rest war so hart, das sogar ein Steakmesser hier versagte. Ein bissl Wasserkresse als Beilage (natürlich ohne Sosse) und fade (extra dazubestellte) Pommes. That's it. Schade, alleine von der Lage und von der hohen Qualität des Sevicespersonals könnte man aus dem Restaurant sicher mehr rausholen, wenn man besser kochen würde, Wir haben für das Abendessen so viel bezahlt, wie für die Übernachtung. Das steht in keinem Verhältnis.

Beautifully presented, high quality decor, peaceful setting, spacious, comfortable rooms. Attention to detail. Excellent customer service and exceptionally welcoming of our small dog. Very comfortable communal areas. Fabulously clean. High quality linens and towels. Great shower / bathroom. Sweet touches for travelling with dog.

Beautiful location, spacious room and bathroom. This was a return visit and it didn't disappoint, only the extreme heat was a problem beyond the hotel's control.
The room was uncomfortably hot and the fan provided wasn't up to the job.
Nice large comfortable room. Lovely dining room good food for evening meal and breakfast. Friendly staff. Surrounded by golf course. Quiet but not far from main route to North.
